Not fat no mo. But I remember, I remember, I remember... I hated the feeling of hopelessness, that I was doomed to be obese, that I had to just get used to it, that I would probably need cholesterol meds one day, that I had tried and failed before and so I was probably going to fail again, that I had tried and succeeded…

There are two sides to this coin. 1) Only you know your body and 2) blind spots are a profound part of human nature. Frankly (please don't take it personally) I don't believe your body can intuitively tell the difference dropping below 1650 calories in a two-day period. That's false precision. There are a thousand things…

Perhaps a lot of these people are trying to build muscle mass? The standard guideline for building muscle is to get one gram of protein for every pound of "lean body mass". What that means in practical terms: For someone who weighs 200 lbs and has 20% body fat AND is trying to "get big" (i.e. more muscular, not obese),…

Works for me. I have a weekly instead of a daily calorie budget. I use a spreadsheet like this: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtLvWeJyKrzLdDhPVW9VTkc3cTA3RGp0b191ci1sUFE At the end of each day I put my MFP diary's number in that day's cell. The last column on the right gives the running total for the week.

Spend some time in the "Success stories" forum. Here's mine: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/416702-xl-to-m-see-pix-inside [edit] I should also mention that this success came after years of repeated failures as well as weight loss / regain cycles. I'm still at this after 2 and 1/4 years and it still works. All the…

Reminds me of the movie Body Heat. The main character (played by William Hurt) is always smoking as he exercises.

I posted this once before (http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/555022-a-job-offer) but the MFP database messed up the substitution of some of the ASCII characters.

It will happen. Keep at it and come back to this thread after 2 months. Don't give in to despair!

According to the calculators on this page you are already at an "ideal" weight: http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.htm But of course those calculators are based on the "average" BMI expected... which is not a good measure for some people. In particular, body builders have a great deal of scorn for BMI and focus more on…

Pushups! And lots of 'em! Get some variety also... do the "chest" part of P90X Chest and Back, and try the "perfect pushup" (or "pushup pro") tool.

Even if it's baked or broiled it could be swimming in butter or oil. If you are counting the calories, ask them whether or not it's prepared with butter or oil.

A can or steam-able bag of seasoned vegetables with 3 ounces of grilled chicken strips or some sliced-up low-fat franks. With chicken: Del Monte makes a can of zucchini and tomatoes in with Italian seasoning. Green giant and bird's eye have lots of steam-able vegetable medleys with seasoning or sauce. With 3 hebrew…

Log everything every day for 90 days. Forget "motivation"... consistency is the key. Habit-formation beats getting psyched up. Treat your diet like a job that pays in weight loss, something you have to show up every day for.

Try adding some fats. Cooking with more oil, for example. Or eat some peanut butter.

Last 10 lbs blues. Those are the most stubborn lbs and generally it takes a lot longer to ditch 'em. But you might be gaining muscle mass with your strength training, which is a good thing. If that's what's happening, the scale won't show that you've lost weight but your clothes will be looser and you will probably be…

Four days is not enough time to see the authentic results. The beginnings of real results take a few months. You have to keep at it and not give up for at least 30 days straight without a break. And you need to re-learn how to eat from the ground up. It's going to take 6 months to a year to reach your goals, so take the…

Good question. Probably only a handful of people on MFP will have any qualifications to address what you are asking. On this topic you might find more informed and informative people on bodybuilding.com Sublog recommends these web sites also: http://www.leangains.com/ http://www.bodyrecomposition.com http://alanaragon.com/…
