I've been there. Please try putting the scale away for a time, if you're tempted to weigh in and have a home scale, give it to a friend to hold on to. It's baseless guilt and it's not fair to yourself, and it warps your views of success. YOU DON"T NEED TO FEEL DEPRIVED TO LOSE WEIGHT! Also a really crappy feeling. Trust…

Your body will not change shape, at least not until you lose a considerable amount of weight/get down to a lower BF%. You will take up less space but you will not get "long, lean yoga body muscles" if you weren't built that way. I've lost 50lbs, and my "problem areas" (thighs, back fat, stomach) are still "problem areas".…

It happens. I had three servings of ice cream in a day and felt like complete *kitten* (physically) For me, the balance comes naturally. I will have bottomless pit stomach for a few days in a row sometimes, and then other days I'll come in at a few hundred under my (net) calorie goal. You can try balancing it out by…

Silently creep for before/after pic motivation. And then be silently motivated by them (great job btw!)

It doesn't matter for weight loss, but the source of calories between the macro nutrients have an effect on hunger, mood and energy levels. Speaking from a personal experience and not a scientific perspective.

My personal opinion is that in general, I don't think someone at the beginning of recovering from and ED should be counting calories. If you think you're ready, try it out, but if you find you start obsessing over the numbers that you see when tracking your food intake or find, don't feel bad or guilty about taking a break…

best arms? abs? I can't decide, but they all good. worst - not a huge fan of tattoos in general but I somehow don't mind them. Proceed to be shirtless whenever you want

If I were to think of the type of mentality it would take to lose 170 lbs and to also the type of person who is willing to undergo a surgical procedure in order to donate an organ - that person doesn't seem like the type to cut corners or give up easily, so I would say don't be worried. OR do be a little worried just to…

Not always. I joined MFP in January of 2012, and by mid-2013 I was down 50lbs, about 2/3 the way to my goal weight (which may be slow by MFP standards). Then I got lazy with logging, and then stopped altogether a few months after. For a while I thought that I had intuitively changed my eating habits (and this may be partly…

Honestly you will be frustrated with your wasted efforts if you do this "contest" (unless you aren't overweight and don't actually want/need to lose excess weight, in which case I would side-eye you even harder) As someone who is both trying to lose 20+ lbs. and quit smoking as well, I find this quitting contest dumb and…

Being told how confident I look. Insanely better than "you look so pretty/great/beautiful/hot/skinny/better/different"

Nah.

It's probably already been mentioned somewhere in this thread, but I have a food scale that I use heavily, and I will frequently weight out food that already has portion-controlled nutritional information - AND IT'S NEVER ACCURATE. Example: a pre-sliced slice of cheese on the package was listed at something like "1 slice,…

The honest to dog best exercise ever for weight loss is the one that doesn't feel like "exercise" or "working out' and one you would gladly be able to do every day of your able-bodied life if you could, even when you're tired or cranky or grumpy or otherwise not in the mood to move. The trick is finding out what that is…
