You look wonderful and you've done such a good job! Love the family picture. :)

I ran into an old boyfriend and he told me he was glad to see I hadn't let myself go.....and I probably weighed 210 at the time (and I'm 5'7.5".) ???? Then an older woman I know told me I was "drawn" at just under 200 pounds. Now I'm 175 and really, compared to the "average" woman, including those younger and older than…

^^^^^ THIS ^^^^^ Yep....I have that actual knowledge you're speaking of and it didn't take me long to realize I couldn't live without my older man. Have a blast, emma_problema! I know I'm still having the time of my life!

The love of my life is 20 years older than I am and I'm crazy about him. Letting go of my preconceived notions about older men was the smartest thing I've done in a long time! We've been together for 8 years now and we're still on our honeymoon.

Opening your diary and logging it honestly helps. Weighing and measuring the quantity helps, and log it before you eat it. Logging BEFORE is a huge point because instead of just stuffing your face you can't help but think about the calories and for some reason, knowing how many calories helps take the fun out of the binge.…

Congratulations! You have done such a great job and in figuring out what works for you, you've figured out how to make this work for the rest of your life. You look so much better and you make 233 look great! High five, dude! :)

I work in the same industry and you know we work with a lot of people that think they're sharks. You do what you need to do for you to be healthy and blow them off. I don't understand how some people get off being mean. You know they're being mean, so just ignore them and put your energy into taking care of yourself.…

I try hard to listen to my body. If it truly needs more food (different from just wanting something to snack on), I feed it. If I'm sick, I lay off and get well, then get back at it. I hope you feel better soon and set the curve on your exams.

I agree with swimming, too. If you're not inclined to go to a gym, you can do calisthenic and isometrics. Lay down on the floor or a mat and start lifting your limbs. Adjust your position (lay on your side instead of your back or bend your legs or arms) and lift your limbs again. Do what you can and use your imagination.…

I haven't read the replies, but I have no doubt that you've run into a bunch of people that have jumped on the band wagon and agreed that your statement is absolutely right. I'm here to offer a different perspective. It's the fact that they're trying to eat only 1,200 calories worth of junk/fast/processed foods instead of…

I'm 49 and doing well on my journey. I went back to eating healthy and I exercise some and the weight is coming off. I'm not menopausal yet, though, so that may influence it some, but I think the main two things are that I figured out how to eat and I'm consistent with it.

^^^^^THIS^^^^^ I measure everything, too. I use measuring cups and a digital food scale. They're wonderful....and only about $20. I thought I was pretty good at estimating portion size and I was completely off! Weighing and measuring portions works!
-
I agree that it is completely possible! My ticker tells my story. MFP is amazing.

Francis, I can't even count how many times I've attempted to lose weight. I have a tendency to get complacent just under 200 pounds and then put a good 40 or so back on before taking control of the situation again. This time is different. I'm down to just about 180 and mentally I know I'm going to get it this time. MFP and…

I do believe I'm going to exceed my calories on Thanksgiving Day. I'm having some of the family over and we're cooking a feast. My darling husband will be making an apple tart from scratch along with some wonderful yeast rolls. I'm going to eat reasonable quantities of them, but I will be eating them and that fact, as…

Exactly this! I know what pigging out is. That's part of the reason I ended up the size I did. Now fast forward through time where I've changed my eating habits. I eat healthy and I eat reasonable portions....portions that I once laughed at. Now a week ago I went to a college football game with some of my lady friends and…

^^^^Exactly!^^^^

I eat very healthy and I love it! It took me a little while to get the junk out of my diet, but it's the best thing I could have done for myself. Now I eat healthy stuff and it seems like I eat more now because the healthy foods seem to be naturally low in calories. So I'm eating better, eating more and losing weight.…

About a week and a half. It took me a little while to get used to the fact that he's 20 years older than I am, but I'm glad I did. We've been together for 8 years now and it's GREAT!
-
^^^^^^^ Agreed^^^^^^^ As long as you're not adding a lot of fats to them when you cook them. :)
-
What did you eat? Sticking to a whole foods type diet cuts a lot of fat and a lot of sodium out of your diet. There are people that look at the way I eat and believe they could never afford it. The truth is, by cooking at home and eating what we cook and not spending money on fast food and other types of restaurants, it's…

Bravo to you and your success! This is a wonderful story. I also refuse to set time lines to my goals. That hasn't worked for me and I find it terribly counter productive.
-
If I can do it, you can, too. Really. I know that probably sounds like a giant heap of horse manure, but it's true. You have to educate yourself and you have to keep tweaking what you're doing. It's a learning process. You have already done the number one most important thing you have to do to win this battle....You've…

I eat whole foods, clean foods but my portion size was my downfall. Now I figure it out ahead of time and I stick to it. I used to also be an emotional eater and a boredom eater. I just got a grip on the first one and I refuse to give in to the second one. It has made all the difference in the world.

He's not dead.... Now if he's trying to contact them and meet up, that's a whole different story. He might post on there just so someone would pay him a compliment. Try stroking his ego a little more and he might decide he's getting all of the attention he needs at home.
-
What a great offer....and I hope you're not over run with requests! Personally, I would love Lats Middle Back Lower Back Glutes Thank you! :)
-
It might be counterproductive if you're trying to bulk up, the the majority of people here are trying to lose weight and getting off of our duffs and burning some calories is very productive.

For the first time in 20 years I've started wearing my shirt tails tucked in. I can't believe how it looks!
-
I ended up divorced after 22 years of marriage and it was a blessing. I could not be happier than I am now!
-
No. I think MFP overestimates how many calories I burn. I'm doing just fine like this, thankfully.
