Track it under the cardio section, there's a "weight training" section.

The most accurate way to measure body fat is on the autopsy table...seeing as that wouldn't do you any good, a mix between the caliper test and those websites can be used to estimate body fat percentage. There are also websites like bodybuilding.com that have professional fitness models/body builders who browse the forums…

Short answer: Lose weight everywhere and you'll lose belly fat.

Change your workout, which you should do anyways every 12 weeks or so.

Make sure your bar is the weight you think it is. A standard Men's Olympic barbell weighs 44.1lbs (20kg) and a Woman's Olympic barbell weighs 33.07lbs (15kg).

Remember, with training sometimes less is more. 3-4 days weight training in the gym is enough for the average (non-drug using like someone said) person. In all honesty, you can get a good enough workout using the big 3 (squats, deads, bench) only. I've never done Stonglifts 5x5, but I've used Madcow's 5x5 and I had great…

Just rest and proper nutrition is about all you can do. Your body will get used to it in about a week or so.

Read the book "Starting Strength." It is the Bible of strength training and is a must read if you want to lift weights. Also, I've never stretched before strength training and have had no serious injuries....though I do warm up really well prior to lifting.

I've read several posts where people are being serious in their love of shake weights...mostly women. However, like you, I can't look at a shake weight the same after watching that Southpark episode.

Here is the best video I've seen: http://www.bodybuilding.com/exercises/detail/view/name/dumbbell-lunges

I'm sorry, but if you physically exert yourself...really push yourself....you're going to let out some sort of noise. Its involuntary, and in many cases is good for you. Telling someone not to make a noise while lifting weights is like telling someone not to moan during sex. But its not about grunting. Its about how Plant…

There are studies that say you should and studies that say it doesn't matter....welcome to fitness science. My theory is that if it has a chance to help, and won't hurt, why wouldn't you eat right afterwards?

Keep in mind, all you have to do to become a certified crossfit instructor is to essentially pay $1000 and go to a week long seminar. There is no pass/fail test. You show up and pay, you get certified. So you essentially have no clue who is instructing you or what qualifications they have. Also, to get higher levels of…

If you want to work out up until you are in shape, then be ridiculed for it, go for it! Don't forget to eat the free tootsie rolls and go to pizza night, because those are staples of a good diet. (no sarcasm)

You picked the wrong protein powder if it almost made you gag. You can get chocolate flavored, which pretty much every brand carries, and it'll taste like chocolate milk.

I don't think many would disagree...but why didn't you post this reply in that topic?

Buy resistance bands...cheaper, portable, and you can get the benefit of "heavy" lifting if you're just starting out. You can get a set of 3 for around $30. They also make super heavy weight bands if the regular ones get too easy.

I feel weak lol....oh well, this is 2 months in after a 5 year lay off. Height - 5'10" Weight - 207 Body fat - Mid 20s Bench - 150 (estimated...never my strongest lift) Squat - 225 Dead - 300

Luckily I have 2 options. I workout at night, usually when no one is in the gym, and they have an ipod touch with pandora where I can easily change the station to what I want. Now if someone else is there I'll listen to pandora or my 23 days worth of music on my ipod touch.

P90x, even the "strength training" aspects, is still a cardio workout. If you don't have a HR monitor, I'd log it under circuit. Then again, the amount will vary significantly, depending on how much you actually do within the workout. That p90x calculator someone posted seemed like it would be more accurate than circuit…

Now here's some real eye candy....

Mal Malloy FTW! See some guys do like curves!

It was from a "hate skinny girls" thread.

Seriously? During the busy times at every gym I've ever been to you couldn't get near a barbell...well unless it was part of the squat rack (but then someone was usually curling it). Ha, I did those last night too!

I don't have the ROM in my shoulders to do behind the neck presses....I've tried.

If you're using 15lbs for every single exercise, its too light for you. You need to tax yourself and really work hard...use the heaviest weight possible to do 8-10 reps with good form. Also you needed to have incorporated leg workouts yesterday. Your legs are the biggest muscle group in your body, you shouldn't neglect…

They mean the same.

I really don't agree with your disagreement.

I just thought of another one, which I did tonight, the Arnold Press!
