I'm glad you were able to. It's not easy but wowww,,, didn't you feel like you should have done it years ago?? I wish I would have. On a sillier note here, my dad used to say you can pick your friends but not your relatives, but you can't shoot them either, damn it!! I will NEVER forget him telling me that. He's been gone…

I have fibromyalgia and back issues too and when I have 'flare ups' I do water aerobics. We use floating dumbells and stay in the deep end of the pool, which helps because your spine can just 'hang there'. You can work out really hard or take it easy and it is awesome for sore joints! I was then able to walk and now I run,…

Speaking from a runner who now has influenza A... Listen to your body. If you can run and do it without coughing up a lung, gasping for air or getting dizzy.. go for it. If not, stop and let your body rest another day. I kind of felt like I was coming down with it yesterday but I did fine and ran over 5 miles. Today..…

Ok, I think I can do it. I did all the laundry last night so it wont take much to pack. If I get sicker I'll just deal with it. To my daughter. I woke up with Type A flu, that she gave me while here for Christmas, but we are supposed to go to a ski resort near her home in WI. We may end up sitting around the fireplace…

Everyone is different.. We are all different sizes, ages, dif. degrees of health, etc. For me, I lost 40lbs by walking alone, between Jan and May. I now run 5 or so miles every other day but I'm not losing tummy fat or measuring smaller like I did when I walked. Sooo I think I need to slow down and stay into my fat burning…

Refrigerator oatmeal! It's good for you, filling, and low in cals if you're careful about the type of ingredients. You make it the night before and it's ready to eat in the morning. Skinnytaste has a lot of good recipes. I mainly make mine with frozen strawberries, blueberries, bananas, cinnamon. The combos are unlimited.…

I'd starve if I ate 3 - 400 calorie meals. I mean, one cup of Velveeta shells and cheese, vs 6 cups of romaine lettuce, 4-8 oz of grilled chicken, a ton of veggies, nuts, croutons and light dressing.... There is no comparison in how I'd feel as far as being satisfied and not hungry again in 10 minutes. Another example, one…

Cook it by steaming, grilling, saute or roast it with lemon zest, lemon juice, minced garlic, olive oil, a bit of butter, kosher salt, pepper. Add a few roasted pine nuts and it's delish. Oh and if you steam it, saute the asparagus with the above, don't add it while steaming. I also put that on broccoli, green beans and…

I'm 51, haven't lost 100lbs, more like 40, but the way I look and feel is completely different! I'm not sure why the 2nd pic didn't work, but you can see the difference in my profile pic.

Thank you! I'm glad I inspire you since other people's before and after pics inspired ME when I started MFP back in Jan. I really never thought I'd get to where I am today and thanks to hard work and awesome support from my mfp pals, I did it. :)

Ohhh my gosh! You look awesome and like a completely different person! Amazing work, congrats!!!

So don't give it up. I have had 2 cups of coffee, every single day for over a year, with Splenda and 2 T of sugar free creamer and have still lost 40lbs. In fact, I lost the 40lbs just from Jan to May. The creamer only has 30 cals. Not a big deal in my opinion. If 30 cals bothers you, walk it off in a few minutes. :)

I haven't been in a gym for years. I'm like you, I run, walk, bike and hike. I do have a treadmill and a bowflex I use at home though. I also garden, mow, stack firewood, etc. Living out in the 'country' helps me work out. :)

While I no longer consider myself fat, I vividly remember not liking it when I was. I hated having to use Glide on my thighs before I could walk. Muffin top. Food coming up my throat if I bent over. Wearing size 16-18 jeans. Not being able to wear my seatbelt on my lap. I'm a former firefighter/emt and I knew what damage…

I slice them and put them on turkey/chicken sandwiches. I think it tastes better than mayo. Chicken salad. Diced into egular lettuce salads. On tacos, tortillas. Also, if you don't eat the whole thing right away, pour some orange juice over it before you store it in the frig or it'll turn brown.

C25K!!!! You can do it!

You can do it! Slow your speed down so it's easier to complete, then add speed later. I'm 51, never ran before and now I'm working on the 5k to 10k bridge. :)

I've come a long way from last year but I still have a list! Consume less sodium. More strength training. Eat more vegetables and protein, fewer carbs. Finish 5k to 10k, (I'm on week 11), enter my first race and finish it. Take a lower dose of BP meds.

You look amazing! Congrats on having your hard work pay off!

I am going to go on a hike, a new and healthier tradition for my family. Then I shall come home and gorge myself. :)

It's just a guess but I probably had anywhere from 2000-3000. More on weekends and holidays, vacations, etc. Dropping it to 1200-1500, depending on exercise ( I have to eat more on heavy workout days), I've lost 40+ and gained muscle weight. The first 2 weeks were the hardest. I was hungry all the time, so I supplemented…
