From a former anorexic... It can also be the total opposite for eating disorders. For example: Love me first, then I'll gain weight, They made me this way, so I won't change, I'm getting back at them. Food is only thing I can control in my life, so I'm not going to eat. If I can't be perfect, I'd rather starve to be skinny.

I've raised 3 healthy, fit kids (one is a U.S. Marine!) and now have 4 grandkids. What I've learned over the years is that you HAVE to get your kids away from technology and OUTSIDE. Take family hiking trips, go to a park, etc. Take them camping, play ball, do yard work together and make it fun! Have the kids help you…

ETA: Sorry I missed it, a moderator already posted info on getting help for eating disorders. If you suffer from one, seek help!

I love that suggestion! Great idea.

Not unless I want my hair stuck to my neck & face. Never. IMO, anyone who doesn't isn't there to work out. :)

What if the ill partner quit taking meds, over and over and over again? Preached his version of the bible to the (little) kids everyday, telling them they will burn in hell. What if he hoarded his paychecks to give to his 'church' instead of supporting his family? This went on for over 35 years before she finally told him…

Fad diets. Oh my. Just eat right. You know how. A combination of all healthy food groups works well.

Coffee, a pain pill and oatmeal with honey or a banana with almond butter.

Jog as slowlyyy as possible to complete each segment. If you can slow down, you're going too fast. You can add speed later.

I'm ocd so I have some quirky things to get me through it. I sweat a lot so I wipe my face only every 5 minutes. I know it's odd but it keeps me going to finish that segment of 5 minutes. Music, I have to have music to keep my speed up and it has to have a faster beat than the pace I'm running at or be at least close to…

I'm sorry but I think the hair tie deal is an issue, regardless of his apology. If my husband got into such a rage about my hair and had to go through my drawers, purse, workout bag or whatever, to throw them out so I couldn't use them. I'd think he was crazy. How would he feel if she threw out his tighty whities because…

I've been married for almost 34 years and if my husband threw out my hair ties or headbands, I would have punched him. But, he knows better. Someone else mentioned that they preferred wearing jeans and pulling their hair back sometimes. Well, I do too. When I'm staying home, working around the house, dealing with kids,…

I do this but I dont stir the eggs. I cook them for one minute, then flip them over so it stays in one round piece. Cook for 30 secs more or until done. Then I put it on toast for a filling, low cal. sandwich. Make sure you don't overcook them or they turn into rubber.

Have any of you heard of the word jackapple? I guess it's a 'nicer' version of jacka$$.

I'm not sure where it came from but some people around Chicago call it 'sodi' (sp). My sister is one of them and it drives me nuts. It's SODA! lol

I have, nearly 100% on my arms, calves, thighs and back. ONLY because I lose weight, I do cardio and I lift. I still have some on my stomach and butt and with a bit of loose skin there, it will look like cellulite, no matter what I do, but I'll continue working on it. My thighs used to be 100% flab and now they are tight,…

I found a bag of organic chia seeds at GNC. They aren't cheap but they last a long time.

I love the nutty, crunchy texture that it adds to overnight oatmeal.

Healthy Life makes low carb, 35 calorie per slice white and wheat bread, 80 cal hamburger buns and English muffins, but I'm not sure how many cals are in those, not many tho. It's not the same as fresh bread out of the oven, but it's a lot better than other high calorie, whole wheat stuff that has the texture of cardboard.

We do the hand sanitizer thing too, especially if you can't shut off the water, get a paper towel without touching a knob and then head out the door without touching it too. They are already covered in bacteria and viruses so I don't see the harm. Most of the time I wash, shut the water off with a towel, then open the door…

I was addicted to flavored 'creamers' and I've cut it down to 2T also. After reading the ingredients, I'm going to switch to real cream, flavored with natural flavors, as soon as I run out of it. LOL After reading the label, this is what is in my sugar free, 15 cals per T, vanilla flavored 'creamer'....yikes! Water, corn…

That's hard because I truly believe that we have to hit rock bottom, no matter how bad we want to be fit/healthy. For me it was my older sister having 3 strokes at 53 and being disabled, from obesity. I was 50 and obese myself. I have kids, grandkids and I want to see them grow up. You should be proud of yourself, you've…

Haha, I've seen that at the library too. It's kind of weird, but I guess if you don't have the internet at home, you have to game somewhere else. About the couple out for dinner, using their phones. That could be my husband and I, checking out the menu on the MFP database and/or logging our food. LOL

Wow that's rude of them! I'd probably ask them why they cared. What irritates me is when I'm out walking/running/hiking and there is no where to pee.

Do bodybuilders even eat bread? JK. Well, I used to bodybuild and I can't even say why I did it, except to say that I was obsessed with it. I didn't even have a picture in my mind of how I wanted to look, so I'm just curious as to why others do it. That's all.
-
Being someone who has suffered from obsessive-compulsive habits, I wonder if body building is a sport, a self esteem issue, an obsession or just a hobby? I don't believe that being 'ripped' makes you any healthier. Not putting anyone down, because I've been there. Just curious.
