That's actually right! Don't be too hard on yourself. I never had veggies for a snack. I would have them for lunch and dinner, but never for snack.

I agree with everyone that cottage cheese is a good source of nutrients like calcium and vitamins. If you are concerned about the fat, watch your portions and it will be best not to add sugar and fruits with it.

I'm on the camp that says protein shakes are good. They won't make you gain weight since most of them has 100 calories only per serving. What they do is they give you more protein which is essential for muscle growth and healing of torn muscle fibres.
