much the same as two slices of multigrain bread and thats with any sort of topping

if you have set the HRM with correct age sex height and weight then it will be more accurate. now the bad news you are of course subtracting the BRM calories from your exercise calories :-)
-
"But the weight of your breakfast food+fluid isn't *your* weight." the fluid is as it replaces that which is lost over night.
-
I, like most it seems, do it in the morning after the loo and before breakfast. but am now wondering that perhaps it should be after breakfast as that would be fed and watered for the start of the day and therefore a more true relfection of my weight.
-
Maybe. have you accounted for this work/walking in your daily life style? and I would assume the walking you do at work is not as brisk so you may well find you can only count 200 odd kcals but every little helps
-
so I must assume you are weighing daily. thats ok as long as you realise that our weight goes up and down thoughout the week, mine varies by 6 pounds, I know this because I have weighed in every day since January and thats just how my body deals with the week's consumption.
-
and there by hangs quite an issue. exactly what food equals the exercise you have just done :-)
-
a professor of nutrition asked the same question and went on a twinkie diet ate 1800 kcals a day mostly in twinkies and supplemented with vitamins and veg he lost 27lb his good fats incresaed by 20% and bad fats decreased by 20% make of that what you will
-
1200 kcals is the minimum for a female 1800 kcals is the minimum for a male as directed by the American institute of medicine.
-
you have lost 22% of the weight you want to lose so why not treat yourself. and plan for another at 50% of the way through :-)
-
try your old diet but with smaller portions
-
I don't think the speed at which you lose weight is the issue here, more like returning to old eating habits, I would reason that a slower weight loss allows you more time to adjust to a better eating pattern. if you return to overeating 500 kcals a day then you will put on 1lb each week regardless of how you lost it. but…

if you haven't done a VoMax test then they are all only estimates

I agree with bmontgomery87 but long term over protein consumption may have a bad effect on the Kidneys so if you are having 5 time too much you could run into problems. but I must ask what is a bad Protein?
-
the American College of Sports Medicine, recommends a minimum of 30 minutes of moderate aerobic activity five days per week
-
Skinny fat does that include marathon runners?
-
You joined in March 2011 its april the 7th so thats a maximun of 38 days lets half your weight loss, so thats 6 lbs and divide that by the days done so far thats erm 0.1578 times by a year equals 57 so you could look forward to a loss of 57 pound in the coming year :-) seems like a good loss to me. Don't get distracted the…

Welcome and good luck

the display on your weighing scales increases!
-
its just one of those things. but 1600 cals a day with the level of exercise you are doing may not be helping you as a rough guide men should not go below 1800 cals a day women 1200 but its only a guide. at 1600 a day plus the cals used for 6-8 miles asumming 4 mile an hour (750cals apprx) so, 1600-750 cals extra used…
-
I'd go wih the BMR you have researched as it is more accurate than MFP's base reference of 1200 cals. also please post your results. thanks
-
try walking a little further and faster alternate between distance and speed to allow your body to adapt to the increased work load . that has so far worked for me, I can now walk 9 miles in a single session with out any strains or joint problems.
-
if he or anyone eats more calories than they burn they will put on weight it is in fact that simple.
-
if you eat too much sugar regardless of the source the liver will produce insulin there by making the body store fat if you don't have enough sugar the liver produces Keytones and burns fat. it don't matter to the liver where the sugars came from

I've had a Polar for years and love it
-
it may or may not help but I have lost 32lb in 9 and a half weeks so of course it is possible. You should eat as heathy as possible , I have used smaller is better as a rule, so I'm eat a diet similar to what I ate before only smaller portions. I have taken up moderate exercise and now walk 6 miles a day @ 4.25 miles an…

BMI is a general guide, if you have actively built muscle mass then it is not a good guide it shows a healthly range to aim for no more no less.

I have a polar and used it on and off for years when it needs replacing I will replace with another Polar

A calorie isn't a calorie? all calories are not the same? I thought 1 calorie was the amount of energy required to raise 1 Litre of water 1 Degree C, I guess you learn somthing new every day. :-)
