I don't think there is a fitbit setting, if I am understanding your question. It really doesn't even matter what you set MFP at as long as you enable the negative calories...you will end up with the same number of calories to eat. Many people don't like the huge + or - calories every day so try to find the mfp setting that…

There is this group. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/460-registered-nurses I always take my food to work and have it prelogged so I know where I am calorie wise.

I am also going to mention blood sugar issues. My first thought when I read this was dawn effect. Might be worth getting some blood work to find out for sure.

Not right now but I would if my weight started creeping the wrong way. I do occasionally quick add 100 calories or so if I know I have eaten perhaps a few too many 'bites' during the day...so maybe my answer should be yes??
-
Nope, I weigh myself every morning. It's a useful number to know.

I get to eat more almonds! Score!

For me, skipping breakfast and having a small lunch are good habits. Saves calories for when I really want to eat...at night.

Where did the "once a week" rule come from? I would hate that. I weigh every morning and use Trendweight to smooth it out.
-
I use Trendweight but with my computer. I have seen many phone users mention Happy Scale. I also have an Aria and love it but I disabled the auto updates.

I think we need much more information here. Good points have already been brought up...especially the insulin concern. How many calories are you eating a day? I see you want to lose 6 lbs? I am hesitant to give any advice without knowing your stats.

I wear mine all of the time and don't log anything separately because like marissa, I just call it bonus burn.
-
Very interesting. Thanks so much for that explanation heybales!

I have never messed with stride length. I figure most of my steps per day are daily activity like cleaning the house or moving around patients rooms at work, not running or going for a walk which would be a very different stride length. (I suppose I'm probably not understanding some principle of stride length. ) I…

I like Trendweight. It gives a nice picture like the Happyscale app.

Excuse me, as a certified* Essence of Hummingbird(tm) Dealer, I can certify* that this is all you need to quadruple your BMR. The sarcasm is obvious to me but I would like to hear more about the Hummingbird Essence... ;)

I like to go more by a weekly deficit myself. I use a fitbit and that has a very nice weekly chart with the totals. You can go to reports here on MFP and choose calories and last 7 days, but you have to do your own math. I think the app has a better chart but I don't use the app much. I like to save a couple hundred…

MAYBE THE NEW FAD DIET IS SCREAMING ON THE INTERNET. There, I burned 5 calories...now I can eat a cupcake.

I have an Aria. I pretty much ignore the body fat numbers...I don't think they are accurate on any scale. I have to admit, I have never stepped on and off multiple times in a row to see if there is any difference. I like to weigh myself every day and have the weight automatically loaded to Fitbit and Trendweight. I would…

I need zero friends here. I have some and it is nice to see little snippets of their life. My motivation comes from within and I sure hope my friends are not counting on me to provide motivation and wind beneath their sails. I guess I am a bad friend according to you. Maybe you should search the forum for all of the other…

Well, I think the calories will work out the same. If you say you are sedentary, it will give you back fitbit calories to eat...but if you set it at active MFP will give you a higher number of calories to start with so you won't see such a large adjustment. Either way, I think you have found your maintenance so you will…
-
Are you a member of the Fitbit group? So much great information there. I feel like you probably have your MFP activity level too low if you are getting such large adjustments. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1290-fitbit-users

Yay!! So glad you found it!
-
Every morning. It goes straight to Trendweight. I have vowed to weigh myself every morning I am at home for the rest of my life. I gain weight if I stop. Much easier to adjust when I start to see the trend going in the wrong direction.

I don't do any "replacement" food. I just eat it and log it. Getting your brain to accept that a double cheeseburger or 5 pieces of pizza is probably not the proper portion for you is the bigger battle. Good luck!

I'm late to this party, but I thought the same thing when I read the op. Looks like nothing has changed.

I can help you with the Newsfeed. Go to settings, click automatic newsfeed settings and uncheck the "I have lost weight" box. I can't help you with getting your wife to sync because I have had the same problem with my husband. We can't even get the invitation to go through to his email.

There is no winning around here. People are either offended if others mention their weight loss or offended if they don't. Maybe everyone should wear a sign to let other people know what they are allowed to say. Personally I am delighted to accept any and all compliments. (working on my sign right now)

I would try that, but I'm afraid of the monsters getting my leg if it was out from under the covers.
-
I'm hurt. I thought my advice was really good and non-traditional. Also...in for those weight loss spells.

Here's an idea. Scoop out your reasonable portion and then scrape 1/4 of it into the garbage.
