  • hahaha - I'm confused now. I've skipped workouts for several days now - since about Thursday I think - and have kept within my 1200 calorie range though(I've been participating in NaNoWriMo, so tend to spend all my spare time in front of the computer writing away on my book). Today my scale flashed 136.5 at me, upon waking…
  • I understand! (sort of!)... When I announced my weight goal to some folks, a couple of them did the whole "you'll be anorexic!" and then I had to explain that having been at the weight goal before, that I'm aiming for - I'm most certainly not going to be anorexic. I guess because I'm not starting out at a heavier weight…
  • Ok... Sunday morning/afternoon.... Morning for me since I just woke up lol. Weighed in and the scale finally dropped down and told me 138 again. And - the trick between now and the past 2 days... I didn't exercise at all. Maybe my body needed recovery time? I'm wondering if I should start doing a 2 day rest period instead…
  • Seem to be stuck at 139. Guess my first couple of weeks were shocker flukes on the weight loss. Will have to change up my routine, I'm thinking.
  • I'm set at 1200, except on exercise days (almost every day) where it bumps me anywhere from 1400-1700 something calories, depending on what I've done that day.... I'm looking forward to the day I hit my goal and it bumps me over to maintenance calories instead of the 1200 :-)
  • All I had was cranberry concentrate - so I used 1/2 tsp of that 1 tb lemon juice and 1 green tea bag (in 24 oz - tried th halve the recipe to work with my water bottle)... Looking forward to some new flavoring for my water :-)
  • So... yesterday my scale told me 138, and I thought it was a fluke... so I weighed myself today (both times first thing upon waking up, empty stomach), and it told me 137... I'm not going to update my weight tracker till Sunday though.... I'm wondering if maybe this sudden quick weight loss is partly because I'm finished…
  • Ok... time for another *blink blink* moment... I weighed myself this morning, to double check if my scale was being wonky by telling me 138 yesterday morning (by the end of the night it was up to 140 - normal waiver weight for a one day period).... this morning it told me 137! (I was expecting it to be back at 139 or…
  • *blink blink* I just weighed myself this morning (Tuesday morning) - completely empty stomach, first thing in the morning, and after spending yesterday guzzling water like mad, but barely falling short on eating all my exercise calories -but I should be holding some water weight, right? My scale told me 138!! I'll see how…
  • Ok... It's Monday night/Tuesday morning here (about 2am, so technically Tuesday morning) - This means it should be sometime in the afternoon, Monday-like, for most folks. Here's the results I've gotten so far (some I plucked off the main thread, but most were messaged to me). Drum roll please, for the weight loss results…
  • Safety may also be an issue to take into consideration, when looking at walking outside vs. using gym equipment to walk/jog/run - not everyone lives in a neighborhood where it might be safe to go out for a stroll or a jog. When I was living back home in Florida a couple of years ago, waiting to join up with my husband (he…
  • If I could buy bulk yeast - believe me, I would! sadly - Guam stores appear limited in the types of things they sell... all I've been able to find are the small packets - or the small jars of the rapid rise... But I don't like working with rapid rise yeast... so packets it is... a packet contains about 2 tsps I think...…
  • The same, but with a few added exercises/activities - and it gives a rough guestimate on calories burned for each activity, as well. :-)
  • lol awesome :-) I too have dressed up for Halloween tonight... but I'm not going anywhere... instead, I shall sit at home and hope the house ghost wants to help me with my homework - and of course, quietly celebrate the holiday as fits my personal beliefs... :-)
  • Yes please! It will be much easier to compile all the information if I have it messaged to me (that way I'm not digging through posts and getting confused on which ones are posted as an official check in and which are the regular postings) :-) So there we go - everyone send me your check-ins. I'm about 12 hours ahead of…
  • Went close to 400 calories over my allotment today. I know exactly why too... I didn't fill up enough for a breakfast type deal - had a late lunch and a later dinner - and no snacking between... without the frequent tidbits of food to munch on, I was absolutely voracious at dinner... so.. lesson learned - I need to eat…
  • I'm pretty excited - 2 mornings in a row I've weighed in at 139.5! Looks like I've made my November 1st goal - let's see if I can drop it to 139 flat for the actual Nov 1st weigh in! (must not get lax just because I've made one goal!)
  • Good job!! :-) That self control thing is something I still need to work on... somedays I have it, others, not so much :-)
  • I'd suggest going off a heart rate monitor for accuracy on these - I've found a very large disparity between what Wii Fit Plus and Wii My Fitness Coach tells me I burned (very low numbers) and what my Polar heart rate monitor tells me I burned...
  • Well.. if you have milk or juice in the house, it's very very easy to drink up those calories! (bonus with milk is getting some extra protein and calcium)...
  • Depends on what kind of food you have in the house... salads are always a great option - raw spinach with a couple slice grape tomatoes and carrot slivers, most of the time I won't even use a salad dressing for it... sandwiches are a pretty decent option as well - 1 can of tuna = 80 calories, 2 slices of bread = 140 (if 70…
  • For anyone who'd like the one post listing with everyone's check-in, I'd volunteered to collect the updates from everyone, and then turn it into one posting with all the check-ins and whatnot... If someone else would rather do it though, that's spiffy too :-)
  • No tips or tricks yet... and as goofy as it is - I've been using the Wii My Fitness Coach for my workouts... usually burn 180-200+ calories per 30 minute session... it has diff categories of workouts, so its not all cardio - but also focuses on upper body, lower, flexibility, core, yoga, in addition to the cardio.…
  • As silly as it sounds - I've been using the Wii for the majority of my workouts... Usuaully their My Fitness Coach game. It's like an exercise DVD, except that it tailors it to the individual, changes up the routines each time you use it, and you can choose specific focuses each day (flexibility, yoga, upper body, lower…
  • More the merrier, right? :-) Welcome!
  • Hmmm.. now I'm thinking about those 10,000 calorie cakes special made for big groups of people. Clearly I'm approaching that lovely time of month as well, if chocolate cake is the first thing that comes to mind. Which sucks - because my control on food has never been good around this time... *sigh*. Must not give in to the…
  • From my experience, all the groups I hopped in to have been very welcoming to new members, no matter how late they joined.... this website is definitely very awesome, with most everyone being quite supportive and motivating towards each other! So - my suggestion would be just to eyeball through the various support threads,…
  • I've become a motivation thread junkie..! Mind if I hop in here, too? I actually have 15 pounds to go, not 10... well sort of. I'll be very very happy to hit 130 (since 128 seemed to be the stabilized weight for me when calculating between 125-128), but figure if I keep that extra 5 pounds in there, it will keep me focused…
  • Hey! I was actually just showing your pre-success story photos to my husband the other day! It was one of those "Wow... reading through these success stories is so inspiring - check out this before and after photo - isn't that amazing!!!" I'm on this website all the time now, it seems... my husband probably is wondering if…
  • Sounds like we're pretty close on weight and end goals! I'm in a couple other support groups, but can always use another one to keep me on my toes, checking in, and accountable! My weight as of today is 140 (re-started at 142 pounds a week ago after being gone for 3/4 of the year). I'm aiming to get to 139 by Nov 1st - and…
