  • I "cheat". Breakfast is Naturade Vegan Smart (20 grams protein, 6 grams fiber, and an impressive array of vitamins and minerals) shaken up with 1 1/4 cup almond milk (or cashew milk, or soy milk - whatever I happen to have open in the fridge).
  • Age: 34 HW: 158 (Around August of last year) CW: 134.5 GW: 128-132 (I ultimately would love to see 128 again someday, but made the decision this month to transition to maintenance mode at 132 just so I can maybe stop stressing so much about the number on the scale. I've already dropped 23 lbs - and I'm just getting…
  • Really in love with Naturade Vegan Smart All-in-One. It tastes great, isn't chalky, includes an array of vitamins and minerals along with the 20grams protein and 6 grams of fiber. It's actually the first protein shake I don't have to brace myself to chug when mixed just with almond milk. It might be a little higher on…
  • The recipe book "Vegan Cookies Invade Your Cookie Jar" has fantastic recipes (and eggs aren't replaced by potato starch. Sometimes it calls for arrow root and baking soda and/or baking powder. I just swap out the arrow root for corn starch and they've come out great. I still use the recipes in this book, not just in my…
  • This. This was something I struggled with even as a vegetarian. Even the ex-husband (who met and "befriended" me when I was vegetarian), became critical of it after we were married. It's not why he's an ex - but in hindsight it was certainly one of many small little red flags. None of my family or friends were veggie…
  • It depended on the day/week/month on energy. I was straight vegan for probably about the last 3 months back when I was doing a full time (6-7 days a week, sunup to about 8-9pm at night) scuba dive assistant instructor gig on Guam. I was able to keep up, be a tank monkey, lug gear, teach, and dive with the students. But -…
  • Former vegetarian/vegan (swapped between the two for 9 years). Today is the day I've decided to transition back to a vegetarian diet. Feel free to friend request - I could use a good veggie group - I was the only person in my group of friends or family who was veggie, and it could get rough sometimes (just joined the happy…
  • I was vegetarian/vegan for about 9 years (with the last couple of years being more pescetarian before I then went full omnivore). Long story on why I went omnivore. Well - short story, but long-winded explanation. Either way - I think I'm ready to try transitioning back to a veggie dietary habit. Possibly something between…
  • Nice to see some activity going on in the group. I've noticed that a few of the groups I've stumbled across and joined seem to be nothing but crickets and tumbleweeds for activity. Prior active duty AF ('99-'07). I've regained and lost weight once already since getting out. When I divorced, moved stateside, and picked up…
  • Hey - you guys still doing any running on Saturdays? I'm also in Pikesville!
  • Hi! I'm former military and currently a full time student. In the process of moving out of state for a new job. Last year I finally reached close to my goal (20 pounds lost) - but then everything flipped up in chaos (divorce, moved from Guam to the states, basically - someone hit a giant reset button on my life and I had…
  • I've been struggling with this as well. I started a new routine about two months ago, that lasted all of a week. And before that, I kept meaning to restart a routine. I know I want to get back to the shape I was in this time last year (129 lbs, fit, getting toned)... but, no real support base in person - and no fitness…
  • Good luck! I'm in a similar situation - was doing great - then fell off the wagon. Realized I'd regained some weight - and am back to trying to lose it.
  • Back in Tampa, and back on MyFitnessPal after a while away. Anyone on here coordinate for group activities - liking jogging/walking/hiking/etc?
in Hi Comment by SelkieGhost August 2012
  • Already fell off the wagon. I set the notifications to post on facebook when I stop logging. Sure enough - it posted and people commented... and I'm back. I let my injured knee break the entire habit... and with just 3 days off, I'm back up to 145. My family has the best genetics ever... takes 1-2 weeks to drop one pound,…
  • Down another .5 pounds for a total of 4 pounds lost (solidly at 144 first thing upon waking up in the morning). I'm very happy with this considering that I sorta wrenched my knee when my very excitable dogs accidentally knocked me down the stairs a couple days ago - it kinda put a halt on exercise this past 2 days... and…
  • Forgot to weigh myself yesterday (Monday) so hit the scale first thing this morning, and I'm down another pound! This is exciting, considering it's that TOM again. Maybe by next week the scale will show a 2 pound weight loss (silly hopefulness, but hey - yay for positive continued results) :-) Edit: And hey! I just…
  • Wooo! Happy to have you join the party o' mini achievable goal joy that is this thread :-)
  • The 1st sounds good to me :-) I'll probably go with just 2 pounds again as my goal, seeing as how I didn't quite reach that this time. If I wind up dropping more, than I'll adjust my goal accordingly for the next time :-)
  • I'd be in favor of actually just continuing on this thread - that way none of us get lost and miss out on the updating and accountability :-)
  • Fell short of the 2 pound goal. I've lost 1 momre pound for a total of 1.5 pounds as of today. But - eh.. once again, I'll take any loss and count it a win :-)
  • A big thank you for posting this! This is the first time I've noticed a weight gain when starting up an exercise program (have done many a start up before falling off the routine in the past), so I was getting a little frustrated/concerned, and wondering if it was just me getting older and my body deciding it was done.…
  • Only down by half a pound... but - at this point I'll take what I can get... will up my activities this week, barring any issues with my shoulder acting up (have a shoulder injury that's basically there for life).
  • I'm restarting (again). I've done this several times now... make a little progress - fall off the bandwagon, put it all back on. I'm back up to 148 - with an end goal of 130. This month, I'm hoping to make it 146. (I'm 5'4 btw).
  • Welcome, sis!! :-) Be my fitness buddy.... long distance though :-)
  • I'm a little late for June - just coming back to the site after having fallen off the wagon for a while. Ready to start fresh for July though! I'm currently back up at 144 (from having hit 136.5 during the last attempt to get fit).
  • I get a good dose of vitamins/minerals in the protein shake I use - Spirutein (highly recommend the brand to everyone) - tastes good, and delivers the vitamins/minerals along with protein, with no ill side effects :-)
  • So... I vanished for a week or 2... Not so great with weight loss - only .5 pounds since the 12th... Ah well... I dragged myself back to the website and am going to try to re-motivate myself.
  • Welp... I've gone a solid week without touching any workout program - and have stayed strictly (minus a few occasions) within the 1200 calorie range... and I'm still showing a scale drop, not to mention visually slimming out and looking less pudgy (so it is fat that seems to be going away). I have myself entered on here as…
  • Not familiar with the brand - but it makes me wonder what the ingredients are. Any of the artificial sugar subs makes me pretty ill - really bad stomach pain (splenda, nutrasweet, etc etc). Plus, being in Guam, I'm fairly limited on things a lot of people stateside might take for granted :-)
