Boy, you got me there. I remember when I first started Atkins, I got the ketosticks and everything. I never saw anything on them! Maybe I should get some more and try again.

Don't know if I'm in ketosis. I know may scale says my fat % is going UP, not down. I agree it sounds like a great way to break a plateau (or make up for a special event/overindulgence?).

For the past year or so, my weight has slowly been creeping up, despite nothing changing diet-wise. So naturally, I gave up tracking anything. Really helps, huh? So the day after Christmas when my weight Really shot up, I ran across the Egg Fast, and started immediately. That was Saturday, this is Thursday, and as of today…

Sunday I took my Flex off to charge it and forgot to put it on again until sometime the next day. When I got my weekly report, it said Sunday was My Most Active Day!! How's that for accuracy!

Her mistake, she should fix it - "Sorry, you ordered the wrong size. I wear size whatever, you should exchange it for that." (She didn't even ask your size before she ordered? Is this new behavior on her part, or has she always been this way?)

Marriage counseling. There are other issues here besides weight and diet and cooking. These are just the symptoms.

I don't pay any attention to it - like sure, OK. I just keep doing what I'm doing, because - so far - it's working. I'm not on a timetable this time, just focusing on today!

I have to join the club! Same story here. But isn't it nice to know we can come back and start again and keep going?

Agree. I used MFP religiously for a while, lost some weight, then thought I could ease up and didn't need to do the food diary thing anymore. Wrong, wrong, wrong. I'm back again, re-starting my diary, adding some techy things to help get me motivated again, and go for it again. I decided long ago, I don't have a weight…

Agree with sweet110 - the BMI represents a Range - not one specific weight. The range is to take into accout those individual differences ("excuses"?) everybody complains about (big boobs, big bones). I'm 5'5" and "normal" for me ranges from 114 to 144. That's a 30 lb. range! At 114 I know I'd be skeletal (I got down to…

I'm thinking - a fat kid and a skinny kid go into the exhibit. Who's likely to come out feeling good about herself, and who's likely to come out feeling bad? Who's likely motivated, and who's likely discouraged? The overall idea - eat healthy, be healthy - is good, they just need to tweak it and take out the "bad guys."…

I went through the same thing - started the diet on a Friday, and Monday when I had to go to work, I felt like $h!+ all day. But it passed after a day or 2, and I haven't had problems since. It is so worth it for me because i can now eat a lower-calorie diet with little hunger and no "real" cravings.

The "record-breaking treadmill work" may be causing you to develop more muscle mass in your legs, which would account for something. However, I agree with the others that you have to control your diet, as well. Are you trying to make too many (and too drastic) changes in your diet too fast? Are you keeping your food diary?…

First of all, I hope you messed up when you typed in 100 calories - hope you meant 1000! Second, what is it that makes you think your metabolism is messed up? Are you following a particular diet? How active are you? How long did it take you to lose the 20.5 lbs? Have you consulted with a health care professional about your…

I agree with the above post - the first 2-3 days can be hard - I felt like crap for a day or two - but then I was fine. After that it gets easier, and you probably won't be as hungry or having the cravings for carbs. It's been worth it to me. I just have to stay on it this time!!! I believe I am a true carb addict. I often…

I'm there, too. I've been 20 lbs overweight and I guess don't look it and have gotten those comments. I'm afraid, too, I have been on the other side, and made those comments myself, so thanks for the heads up. I need to pay more attention.

Have you tried sugar-free syrup (for the pancakes, if you do that again)? It's actually quite good.

I do low carb, but I also have to limit calories, too. 1100 is my limit, but I've found that it's much easier than before (when it was food-on-the-brain 24-7!) - I'm not nearly as hungry and the cravings for carbs is almost non-existent. (Except for yesterday - I had a small bite of birthday brownie - and I mean a small…

As far as I know (with Atkins)---- ham, yes. Brussels sprouts, yes. Wings, I would think it depends on how you make them. Watch the carb count on the ingredients.

I guess I'm so new here I haven't run into the "hostiles." I found this place right away. People need to get ove themselves and realize we all have something in common - we're struggling with weight issues. And my low-carb in no way affects your low-fat! Actually, I've had no negative reactions form people in "real life"…
-
I suspect we're all carb addicts here! I'm in the same boat - did Atkins a few years ago, lost 30 lbs, then came carb creep and with it weight creep. So I'm on Atkins again, and I think I have a better understanding that I can't go back to carbs  That being said, I like Atkins because of the structure, especially…

I HAVE to limit calories in addition to carbs. If I don't I don't lose weight. I'm staying under 1200 - actually under 1100. Been on Atkins for 11 days and have lost 6 lbs - 5 of that in the first few days. After another week or so I will slowly start raising both, but calories count for me. But as others have said, it's…

I've had the opposite problem. I've had to cut back on my Miralax.
