  • Man, talk about falling of the wagon! I haven't weighed in for a while.. Today was 148.6. I'm guessing it has a lot to do with the box of fried chicken I polished off over the weekend... Hopefully I'll figure out some better ways to deal with this semester's stress than eating and feeling bad about myself!
  • For the most part I wear some type of flared jean; I think they look the best in the sneakers/flip-flops I'm usually wearing. I do have some jeggings if I want to wear boots, but my ankles are so freakishly small that they never really fit right. In the summer it's mid-length shorts because I need to follow the dress code…
  • I'm tired of cute. However, it's difficult to be sexy when you're working with kids almost every day of the year. I've been told I have a "classic beauty" though, and that cute can be highly desirable, so that's ok, I guess? In the end I suppose I just want to leave as lasting an impression as I can!
  • Do homework and eat peanut butter and jelly. Not much else to do when the power goes out. /shakes fist at the power company
  • 147.2. Pretty much the same as last week, (up by .2 lbs, if we need to get picky) which is impressive, given what I consumed over the weekend...
  • In my baking adventures this past holiday season I discovered Ghirardelli 60% Cacao bittersweet chocolate chips. Man, those things are good. There's about 16 chips in a serving, eat 'em one or two at a time and let them melt in your mouth... I think I know what I'm having for breakfast...
  • I had to accept my larger self before any of this started to happen. I wouldn't recommend the particular process I used to get that ball rolling, but it was a necessary first step for me. When things started going pear-shaped, there were a couple of things that helped me out, like making sure I was dressed well and my…
  • The good news for me is that since I work with a whole lot of kids, it's pretty much policy that we don't order any at all, for the sake of fairness. Otherwise I'd be swimming in a sea of Samoas, for sure.
  • Starting: 150 lbs. 1/30: 147 lbs. I weighed myself earlier than usual today (before breakfast) so it's probably closer to 148 than the 147.0 it was just now. Either way, I'm excited to have (apparently) left the 150s behind! And when my hand weights arrive and I can really get my exercise routine established... Look out…
  • The best... That's a toughie! Bruce Springsteen when he was doing the Seger Sessions tour was amazing. The amount of energy he has totally boggles my lazy self. Overall, my favorite concerts have been when the Irish group Lunasa has played my town's concerts in the park series... It's free, you can get right up…
  • 5'3" (I round up from the 3/4, lol), my goal is 120 but I'm going to evaluate at 130. It would be nice to get into a bikini this summer but it's not necessary since one has to wear a "work appropriate" bathing suit at summer camp.
  • There are SO many things that can make us ladies gain two pounds... For me it's usually hormones and what I eat. I gained two pounds from drinking a beer! But I ate well and skipped the beer the next day, and it was gone! Follow the "in place of a road map" link, keep kicking butt with the exercise, and try not to worry…
  • For me it's going to be the 30 day shred. Simple plan to follow, quick (if intense!), and doesn't require anything I don't have! I'm excited to see what my upper arms and thighs can turn into!
  • Once or twice a day, every day. I do it just to make sure I'm heading in the right direction, and it's interesting to see how what I eat affects the scale. (Beer...:noway: ) If I see stable decreases I'll write it in on here, but I'm not nearly as obsessed with it as I thought I would be.
  • Sweats in the winter, running shorts when it's warmer out, sports bra if there's going to be any up and down motion going on, lol. I try to wear a t-shirt on the tighter side, so that it's not in my way when I'm moving.
  • Your target amount of exercise does not get added in to your calorie limit. In addition to the food journal, there's also an exercise journal that you can log your workouts in, should you chose to do so. If you log workouts in there it adds those calories burned to the amount of calories you can eat for that day. (If you…
  • There are two that I remember very well, one used to be a semi-regular dinner! Outback steakhouse: whole plate of wings, the entirety of the steak and baked potato (butter and bacon!) and half of a sydney's sinful sundae. I'm honestly not sure how I fit it in me anymore! The other one was when I had a serious emergency ice…
  • Hey, I'm Becky, and I'm starting at 150 lbs. I'm not going super crazy in meeting the 6 pound goal at all costs, but I'm hoping that being in this group will help motivate me to eat better on weekends (my main problem), and keep me on track for the 30 day shred! When I started using MFP seriously I was at 1200 calories a…
  • Love the group idea! Valentine's day is not one of my favorite days, so it'll be nice to have something to look forward to! Anyhow, I'm Becky, 24, and 150 lbs. I got on a scale about a year and a half ago and was shocked to see 170. (I'm pretty short, so it's noticeable!) Couple that with being sick of my gut, my arms, and…
  • 150 lbs. 6 pounds would put me solidly in the 140s, which I've never actually seen on the scale before!
  • Checking in! Formerly WoW, moved on to single player, got a sweet laptop, spilled water all over sweet laptop. :frown: Now I play whatever will fit on/run on/not overheat my old laptop.
  • It's difficult to say without being able to look at a typical day for you, but maybe you need to start portioning in some "treats" occasionally? If I NEVER eat chips I'm much more likely to down the whole bag than if I allow myself a serving once or twice a week. (I actually exercised one day SPECIFICALLY so I could have…
  • I stopped my couch to 5k when it got cold... There are SO many workout and exercise videos online though that there's always something to do! Yoga, tai-chi, pilates... You name it, it's on youtube or digitally on Amazon! Watching my food has definitely had the most impact, though. I don't eat super-unhealthy, but boy did I…
  • Great goal! I wish I had a better goal than drink for my 21st, lol. Better late than never though, right? Anyway. I'm 24 and looking to drop another 20-30, although I don't have a goal date. We're roughly in the same boat though! One observation though, FIRST I had to like myself and accept my body the way it was, THEN I…
  • Sounds good to me! Maybe this will provide the kick in the butt I need to finally push on down past 150... I feel like I'm going to be here foreverrrrrr!
  • I've done tai-chi on an irregular basis (mostly I do it for stress relief), and it's GREAT for that. It does burn some calories too, which is a plus. Be sure to listen to your knees and you should have a good time.

  • I was recommended 1280 calories, and after going through the "eat more to lose more" threads, I'm wondering why I was recommended that if my BMR is 250 calories above it? I mean, I'm not in a coma, ffs... Anyone have any ideas on why it recommends that?
  • You sound like me on coffee, around the holidays. Coincidentally, it IS that time of the year! Did this set in some time after Halloween, by any chance? If so, I'd highly recommend adding in some sort of relaxation activity; meditation, tai-chi, yoga... Something with spa music in the background and that makes you focus on…
  • Your log looks similar to my eating habits when I was in school. Are you living on a student budget, by any chance? If so, you might want to ask around for a budget-friendly healthy food shopping list. And if you're looking for flavor... Invest in spices! They may seem expensive, but they're worth their weight in gold when…
  • I only recently started watching my food, so I haven't learned too many tips on that yet, since I'm allowing myself small(er) portions of things I can't possibly go without eating (like cheese :P ). I have been on and off exercising for a year though, and what I've discovered from that is that when I get bored, I need to…
