I find that if I don't eat bread, any wheat products, potato, sugary fruits erc then keeping my carbs under 20/25 isn't an effort at all. Let us know what you're eating and we might be able to pinpoint what you could cut back on.

After the first week you've lost your water stores. The rest is always a mix, as Samantha says, but basically from the 2nd week in you'll be losing 'fat' not just flushing water.
-
@pinkemi I eat under 20 grams of carbs per day, which is always 5% carbs or less on my macros. 25% carbs sounds quite high (just checked your calorie allowance and 25% carbs eating 1500 calories would be 94g carbs I think?). I'd call that more a moderate carb diet than low carb and so it won't (probably) have quite the…

I think maltitol is poison pretty much. It's an offshoot from the same corn byproducts they get high fructose corn syrup from and as far as I'm concerned it's just as evil. It also has a really high GI. I just don't think it should be in food at all.

@bowlerae I can see the difference but my gosh you're stunning in all of them!

I've done it. Made me feel incredibly unwell and lost about 3lb in that week so no faster than usual, really. Meat and eggs I can do but I'd never do just eggs again.

KnitOrMiss - you poor thing. I went to the doctor crying in agony to be told the pain was all in my head - a couple of years ago now. Turned out to be a severe gastric ulcer. Doctors don't tend to diagnose overweight people very well.

I have severe PCOS snd hormonal issues. Low carb is the only way I lose weight well (and metformin gave me hella issues too). I eat under 20g carbs per day, that's the main thing I stick to. After that I don't stick to a set number of grams but I make sure the 20g is 5% or less of my macros, protein is around 30% and fat…

I think fasting can be harder if you're not Keto - maybe it would be more advisable to spend a couple of weeks really making sure you stay on track and eating enough food to keep you satisfied before trying fasting? For me, when getting back into Keto I stop tracking calories for at least the first week. I make sure I eat…

For me, I've always found I lose better when I eat above 60% of my daily calories from fat. It's not a science thing just a personal experience thing, and the calories don't matter as much as the macros do. I get the argument that I have fat on my body that it can use for energy if I'm not eating my full fat macro but I…

I have a cold now so I think the nausea was down to the cold starting - couldn't face eggs so egg drop soup was out but I tried chicken broth, tofu with veggies and cheese to get me though. If I am still feeling off when the cold passes I'll look into the stomach acid thing but I have so many health issues it's usually…

Crispy salted seaweed sheets fill a crisp craving for me and are 24 calories / 0.8g carbs per serving. Some people don't like the very savoury taste though.

I always retain water during my period too, it's such a pain! Keep on trucking and hopefully you'll see a nice loss after. At my final weigh in this month I had lost 8lbs for October and also 8lbs for September so it works out even although I lost 3lbs on two of those weeks and 1lb on the others. Down 28lbs total woop…

Courgetti, canned tomatoes with garlic, and grated cheese. Higher carb for one meal than I'd usually go (about 10g total) but tomatoes make me so happy.

I have various medical issues meaning I can't fast a full day, but I'm only having two meals at the moment. I also hate herbal/mint/fruit teas! I'm too picky I guess. Not tried liquorice though I might look out for it. Broth also isn't appealing right now, but my tofu and avocado seems to have been ok.

Sodium intake is fine - I have naturally low blood pressure which gets worse while on Keto (because surprise! It's actually carbs that keep people's blood pressure high and salt isn't nearly as much of a culprit - my gastro will tell me that but the government recommendations won't) so I have always heavily salted my food…

Two fried eggs (yolk only) on cauli mash

Just my personal opinion but if you're not missing them too much, don't eat them. I occasionally have a small bite of potato (around 25g) when sharing a meal that's served with them. I can do that and stay under my 20-25g carbs for the day and it's not enough of a sugar burst to affect me. A whole potato? They have high GI…

+1 on keeping your calories as high as you can while losing. A lot of people, often with a lot to lose, go right in at 1200 a day and then have nowhere to go. I am 5'2", bmi in the lower 30s and lose easily on between 1500 and 1800 a day (it fluctuates). Your mileage will vary, it takes time to figure out what's right for…

Tapioca is pretty high carb. Quite a few paleo accepted items aren't ok for low carb - many paleo folk use fruits and 'natural' sugars to quite a high degree, and several flour subs we can't use. 34 carbs for the day isn't too bad though, you are unlikely to have been affected by this so don't worry! I don't know much…

When I read up on them it seemed like the over the counter ones were largely ineffective. It's one of these X can block carbs if you take 10000mg of it. We have X in our product*! *but only 200mg so it won't have much effect.

My aunt told me I was soooo skinny now and shouldn't lose more when I was a size 16. She was a size 8 at the time... I almost think it's an unconscious effort to protect their status as the thin ones.

In the UK you can buy that cauli rice online. Waitrose also sell it. I like it as egg fried rice but not in other forms. Waitrose and Marks and Sparks both also sell cauliflower cous cous (fresh) which is just cauli rice. And I picked up a pack of buttery mashed cauliflower in waitrose today - trying it tomorrow

Courgette scramble with a mushroom.

A cheat day tends to stall my losses for at least a week so I wouldn't want to have them more than every 3 months or so. It depends if/how much you're trying to lose, I guess?
-
I have to say I don't think my losses are different when I eat more often, but on low carb I usually find I naturally want to go longer between meals as I'm just not hungry. Re: cheat meals - it depends how often you have them really. People's experiences vary. You'll see some people say they had a day eating non stop junk…

From your most recent post it sounds to me like you're already set on doing exactly what I was about to suggest, which was essentially - get back on track already! I've been low carb on and off for years now and I'm very familiar with the slippery slope you describe - you just have one cookie because your daughter made…

I get my Lindt 90 percent from waitrose - always in stock and they usually have a discount offer on it for some reason.

I think it depends on your individual carb tolerance, personally. If you are losing regularly at 50g carbs, aren't hungry and feel good at happy at that level, stick with it. If you're not losing or experience too much hunger you may want to drop your levels. I find sugar free drinks fine but gum stalls me and I don't have…
