  • Sorry but I have to bow out... I've got a bad stomach flu :( Maybe next round!
  • I'm in! Going to start this evening! I need to buy a tape measure, but I've got the weight thing down with my scale.
  • I use the Quaker Maple & Brown Sugar with 1/2c. Horizon Organic 1% milk and cubed Apple (any variety).
  • I eat it in the mornings... I have the little 100 cal packers.

  • I made it out of the 170's!!! I'm 5lbs away from my mini-goal of 160, and 10lbs from my goal of 155. That'll be 100lbs total loss for me since Oct 2008! Good luck everyone!
  • I allot myself 1200-1400 cal/day, I usually make breakfast around 500 calories, and spread the rest out over 2 snacks, lunch and dinner. Sometimes I will skip one snack or lunch. Just depends.
  • I recently switched to a new scale that tracks my weight, body fat, water, and bone weight. It's always spot-on, the doctors, gym, and my Mom's scale are always different. Definitely stick to the one you use the most.
  • I agree with Gonk! I weigh myself morning and night to keep myself honest. I'm able to finally fit into my size 8 jeans even though I've not lost any weight. That's a bit deceiving for those who don't weigh or only do it periodically and go by how their clothes fit. I look at my daily weigh-ins as keeping boundaries for…
  • I've been in the 170's since Mid-October. From Oct - Nov I lost about 20lbs quickly, and now I've bounced around 170-175 from Thanksgiving until now. I hit 168 a couple of times on days I didn't eat much, or when I was sick. Giving myself 10 weeks to reach 155, my goal by my 26th birthday.
  • Hi Danielle, I'm new too (sorta)! I made my account last year, but my [now ex] boyfriend was using Tap N Track on iPhone and so I used it with him on mine. Wasn't too thrilled about the limited foods in the database and always having to guess. MFP is so much better!
  • Try a cup of tea with a tablespoon of honey and a handful of almonds or a boiled egg.
  • If you're worried about making it between meals, you shouldn't limit yourself to 3 meals a day. Grazing is actually much healthier as it keeps your blood sugar level, and amps up your metabolism. The best way to graze is pack a small cooler/lunch bag with different whole foods like sliced cucumber, cherry tomatoes, grapes,…
  • My favorite cardio (other than zumba) is the ArcTrainer (Ski Machine). Doing 30 second intervals for 10 minutes I burn 120 calories, and really get my heart pumping. Jack up the incline and you can target different areas. High incline you REALLLLYYY work your butt and thighs! I don't use the handles though, I feel like a…
  • My go-to snack is cucumbers, celery, or an apple.
  • I'll check all of those out. I really want one with the ECG strap that goes around your chest, and that counts calories burned too.
  • Some of my larger busted riding friends swear by the Enell (sp?) bras. On those big moving horses, having things not well strapped down can definitely throw you off-balance, and cause some pain!
  • My Mother used to push dessert on me when we'd go out. She'd order something and tell the waitstaff to bring two spoons/forks, and I'd tell them "DO NOT bring anything but one, and set it down in front of her. I don't want any, thank you." Finally, I had to sit her down and explain that reaching my goals is very important,…
  • I have about 15 things I keep regularly... so adding 5 bonus ones! 1) Turkey Deli Meat (from the counter, not the pre-packaged) 2) Low fat cheese singles (babybel, phili cream cheese, etc) 3) Celery 4) Cucumbers 5) Raspberries 6) Low cal/fat/sodium Progresso Soups (usually around 150 cal/can) 7) No sugar added Cranberry…
  • I usually crave water after workouts, riding my horse, etc. The best way to "force" myself to drink more water is I *LOVE* the MetroMint spearmint water. It's a bit pricy, but no more than soda or flavored drink packets. I also add lemon to my water, or I'll drink unsweetened black or mint tea.
  • I like doing just deli counter low fat, low sodium skinless roasted turkey. There's about 60 calories and 12g of protein in 2 oz. (approx 3 slices but I go by weight since I have it shaved)... that's a rough estimate, but I get the Safeway/Randall's Primo Taglio Oven Roasted Sundried Tomato and Basil Turkey. I've also done…
