I was actually taking martial arts classes 2 hours a night 4 to 5 nights a week and I didn't lose weight *until* I added walking-- 45 minutes to an hour a day made a massive difference!

This person is not being a true friend, not at all. If she were really your friend, she would be supporting and encouraging you, not working against your goals.

I only weigh once a month-- that way I can get a handle on the overall trend, not just daily fluctuations. It is a lot more reliable!

One of my co-workers told me I was getting too skinny, and that I reminded her of her mother when she was dying of cancer! wow.

I tried and thought it tasted awful! I couldn't even finish it!

I try to have at least a little treat every day so I don't get a craving and end up binging (a square or two of chocolate, a 100 calorie ice cream bar). The best one recently was a little slice of Italian cheesecake last week, super light and creamy, made with ricotta instead of cream cheese! The one planned for this…

THANKS so much for the recommendations. I will pass on the Timex, I think, and check out the varieties you all have mentioned! Awesome! I just really want a better representation of what I am actually burning! :)

What always makes me laugh is that now that I am 100 pounds down, they always want to know what I am doing, and are disappointed when I tell them, "Healthy food and exercise." They want to hear I took a magic pill or something, or so it seems.

Mine is from a movement in Tai Chi-- "Carry the Tiger to the Mountain"

I am having a hard time giving them up-- I do great for a while, then gradually I start craving them, and finding excuses to drink one, especially Coke Zero. I have been trying to replace them with water and decaf green tea. Just got this in my email today, actually-- food, or rather, drink, for thought:…

OMG, I had that problem once when I wanted to go horseback riding! 235 lbs max. :(

SERIOUSLY. I just got married to an awesome guy who loves me at any size. He just wants me to be healthy so we can live out our lives together. :) The last guy I dated was a jerk about my weight. Not only did he keep bringing up my weight, he kept saying, "When you finish losing your weight, then you can get PLASTIC…

Good for you, girl!

A friend of mine's boyfriend actually said to her, "If you gain 10 more pounds I won't love you anymore." Another friend's husband always told her how fat and unlovable she was (size3). My ex used to sabotage me-- when I would lose weight, he would tell me how sick I looked and encourage me to eat the worst things. We all…

Two others I remember-- wow, wish I didn't. In high school I was helping in a production and something fell off the stage. I jumped down to get it, and a bunch of guys pretended I had caused an earthquake. And one boy once said, "I better not make you mad, you might sit on me." :( Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Nutrition…

I overheard a jerk at the beach once, trying to be a big man in front of his buddies. An overweight woman was passing, and he says to them, "Hey guys... that girl is a 10... on the RICHTER Scale." Idiot.

I agree about the negative self-talk-- the worst things that have been said to me were said to myself, but that is a thing of the past!

I am stunned at how vicious some of these comments are! Incredible. In comparison mine aren't bad at all, but having grown up in the South, I had a lot of little old Southern women pretending to be nice by saying things like, "You're heavy, but you're pretty in the face" very condescendingly, with the obligatory pat on the…

WOW! That is just horrifying! I can't believe people can be so nasty. I am sorry you have had to go through that.
-
That can be a big deal, man! I remember having to really squeeze in on more than one occasion! That's like the airplane seat belt victory! Great!
-
It is great to get that kind of surprised reaction! I am a little surprised that her brain went straight to heroin as the cause, though!
-
That is so cool! I am feeling stronger, too. I wish I was seeing the same effect in my clothes as you are! Maybe in another month or two.

That is so much fun. :) I sent a friend request to someone I hadn't seen in a decade and she completely freaked out at how different I looked. It was cool. :). Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Nutrition Facts For Foods

That is great! And actually, that is the very same amusement park I was at-- Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA! You are braver than me-- I am too chicken to do Alpengeist! LOL
