[/quote] I hear you. It is so frustrating when people close to you don't take their health seriously. My husband's stepfather has been diabetic for years. He does no physical exercise (and not even much activity since my MIL does everything for him) and eats horribly. It is just a matter of time before something bad…

There are a lot of folks who do that one-- a lot of doctors even say that still! I try not to eat too late, but just because it wakes me back up before bedtime.

LOL they will put Beyonce's name on anything! You would lose weight, true, but what an awful way to do it!

I read that yesterday-- that is beyond disturbing! It was created as a medical procedure for the morbidly obese, not as a quick fix for people who are otherwise fit! Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Calorie Counter

I can't even see how that might be thought to work-- fiber, maybe? How crazy! Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Calorie Counter

There is an actual product called "Jogging in a Jug" that claims to burn the calories just like you are exercising-- that is basically apple juice and vinegar. Let's just say I'm dubious. LOL Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Calorie Counter

One of cousins did something like that. He was told that if he drank a full glass of grapefruit juice before every meal it would somehow metabolize the calories. The only thing I can see that might work is that with a full glass of juice, you've got less room for other bad stuff. LOL Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free…

Definitely you are not alone-- my highest weight was over 300. I'm at 100 total pounds lost currently, going for at least 20 more before I reassess and decide if I am happy there or if I want to go for any more! It really is possible! There are many success stories here! Take heart!

And I can't stress enough how vital the exercise is-- at least a half hour a day, a walk, biking, yoga, dancing, something! I do an hour a day usually, unless I am ill or injured. That will do wonders to keep your sugars under control! Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Nutrition Facts For Foods

I'm afraid I don't know about the statistics, but I can share my experience. I am diabetic, not pre-diabetic, but this information should still apply. When you have your test, ask about a nutritional course or plan-- many hospitals and health systems have them ongoing. That will help clarify what is required and…

Hello! I'm Cari, and I was diagnosed with Diabetes in January 2001, eleven years ago at age 31. I was diet and exercise controlled until a couple of years ago when we added Metformin to the mix. My A1C is currently 5.7, and my hope is to keep it there or better (my best was 5.3). I have lost 100 pounds over the years,…
