  • Its not the front or the back. It is right above my ankle on the side.
  • Dynamic. After talking to a friend who is also a runner. She said it sounds more like a shin splint and not a charlie horse.
  • I had this same issue. I found that I don't bring the bad stuff into my house. So if I did want 'something' it would be something healthier if I was really hungry and not just craving junk food.
  • 8-9 on average. One night a week I only get 5 hours but that is my choice to stay up to watch a show and get up early still. This is after 5 years of a kid who never slept thru the night and back then I survived on 4-5 hours.
  • Thank you. I will have to ask her because I'm not sure. Either way I am still taking those vitamins.
  • Thanks for your input.
  • See now I had a personal trainer who told me otherwise. I didn't stick with it long enough but I've seen other clients that have been successful. He said to eat meals no more than 500 calories. Have nothing with calories in it for 2 hours. Something about the body can burn off 500 calories in a 2 hour period with normal…
  • Honestly I hate water but I like it better when its ICE cold and thru a straw. Most of us confuse thirst for hunger so the next time you think you are hungry - drink 8 oz of water. Wait about 15 minutes and still see if you are hungry. I started drinking before/after a meal. Only downside is that I had an overactive…
  • I'm struggling with the same thing. I'm really NOT a morning person. Even as a kid I slept in. And now more than ever I enjoy my sleep as a single mom who has a 5 year old who never knew how to sleep past 7am. So as I was saying -- I struggle. I have tried the alarm clock across the room -- I would just get up and push…
  • I agree! I ran my first 5k last October and went from hardly being able to run a minute to running 9/10ths of a 5k in 9 weeks. Find a 5K to sign up for so that you have a goal. Also, I didn't buy any new shoes but I did have shoes specific for running and they were only a few months old.
  • ABSOLUTELY! As long as you aren't trying to do a comb over.
  • I was thinking the same thing. My cousin (female) is divorced because her husband cheated on HER and left HER for his mistress. She tried to go to see a counselor but he didnt want to.
  • WOW! Not that you or your opinion matter, but just because I said "Next Step is to get new shoes" doesn't mean I didn't research running and the equipment and I even took a "Good Form Running Clinic"! I HAD A PAIR OF GOOD RUNNING SHOES WHEN I WAS RUNNING ALMOST 9 MONTHS AGO! Shoes wear out and I said "next step is to get a…
  • My next step is to get a new pair of good running shoes that fit properly.
  • request sent
  • Thanks. This is what I was curious about. Is that what it would be called? "A Knee Strap for Runners"????
  • I don't know if I've done them wrong or not. Is there some place I can see how to do them right?
  • I ran my 5k when I was starting at about 195lbs and in 9 weeks I was down to low 180's. It is only thru this winter I've gained to about 200 and want to get back into the routine but don't want to mess up by not having something on my knee when I decide I want to run again. I plan on walking for a 1/2 hour daily for at…
  • I've had this pain for about 7 years. I've had this pain when I was 140 lbs and now at 200. So although I know I need to drop the weight (which is why I'm here) -- I know the pain didn't start at 200 lbs. Its always been a problem. Who is Amy? I've talked to my doctor on multiple occasions. He just said that I need to do…
  • I guess I should add that I have been to a doctor and he said there was nothing wrong with my knees and gave me authorization to walk/run (which is what I did for the majority of my 5k training and actual 5k).
  • My Graduation of C25K was September 27th and my first 5K was September 29th. My goal has just been to run an entire 5k not worrying about speed. My best time during my training was 50 minutes but my time during the race was just under 45 minutes. The visualization of other runners motivated me and pushed me to try even…
  • I was scared to sign up for a 5k because I am extremely slow (my fast time during my C25K was 50 minutes). But I can say that the other runners pushed me to try even harder and I ran my 5K in just under 45 minutes.
  • What do you store your sauce in? Do you label it? I have limited space in my freezer but I may be able to get some sauce froze to limit the waste of the enire jar of spaghetti sauce. My son only eats what I eat... and he prefers vegeables and fruits to meats and pastas. He is the only kid I know who loves spinach,…
  • I really want to make some to freeze but my freezer/fridge is entirely too small to make food and freeze it. :/ Unfortunely at this time that is.
  • My doctor advised for me to not do Squats or Lunges until my muscles around my knee were stronger. I don't have equipment for Leg Press or Bicycling. I need something that I can do at home without expensive equipment.
  • I have seen a doctor but I don't remember what he said. He said I could do leg press with no weight to build up the muscle. I just don't have the money/equipment and need something to do at home.
  • I worked with my doctor and he said avoid weight lifting as it could cause more injury. He said if I did anything like "Leg Press" that I need to do it with absoluely NO weight. He said that squats/lunges at this point would be to hard for me and I needed to work on another exercise. He suggesed Bicycling but its getting…
  • Great Job. I finished my first 5k on Saturday after only 9 weeks of training and I missed out on 1 week completely but I finished in 44 minutes. It was a very very hilly track and I didn't train for that. It was still 5 minutes better than my personal best from training.
  • Gary you truly are an inspiration to me and so many others. Congrats on your new lifestyle!
