Vitamin Ratings

When I went to my yearly doctor appointment my doctor asked me what kind of vitamins I was taking and I told her. When she sent me my results (that were good results) she said "Your vitamins are not rated". Can anyone tell me what this means? Who rates them?

My Multivitamin: Dr. Schultze's Super Food tables (5 tablets - 3x/day)
My Calcium: Brazil Live Coral Calcium (3 capsule - 1x/day)

Your Dr. might be talking about USP verified. USP verified means that what the label says is actually in there, that it will break down in the body in a specified amount of time, and that they use sanitary manufacturing procedures.

  • I personally don't take vitamins. I just consume the nutrition that I need. However if I do, it's usually just a children's vitamin that way I don't risk consuming too much of a type of vitamin.

Thank you. I will have to ask her because I'm not sure. Either way I am still taking those vitamins.
