Also, what a fantastic attitude you have about your weight loss journey! It's great to listen to your body and figure out where you're happy and healthy.

Slow and steady is the way to go. I've been working on my weight loss since 2012. I also have a hard time cutting back on calories, but I have definitely enjoyed the process. Good job sticking with it and best of luck as you continue being the healthiest you that you can be!

Excellent dedication and great results - you are an inspiration, sir!

I have been looking into NerdFitness. Glad you gave them a mention. And WHAT AWESOME RESULTS! You look strong, lean and like your hard work is paying off. So proud of -and inspired by- you!!

Proud of you! And I can understand - every time I add a half-mile or so I have to share it. It feels so good! Wishing you all the best as you increase your mileage and shoot for 13.1!!

I have found it very helpful to take a picture and my measurements once a month, in addition to weighing weekly. My weekly weigh-ins help me see pounds falling, but I really notice the difference in those monthly pictures. The differences were pretty marked when I first started doing strength training. It felt so good to…

That is terrific! It has taken me about a year and a half for my loss so far. You are doing well!

Fantastic work! You are looking great.

That is some serious strength - way to go! You and your hubby sound like me and my hubby. Gotta keep it fun. c:

You have done so well!! I'll second the comment about having nice shoulders - great definition in your shoulders and arms. I'm still working on my tummy too.

Your story is terrific! Thank you for sharing it, and many congratulations on your progress.

This is true. I have come to truly love and enjoy working out at my local gym, even when my workout buddy can't make it. I go in the fairly early morning before work (around 6:30 or 7am), so there are a lot of older people there, some earlier retirees. There are also younger people there like myself, but most everyone is…

I have been dealing with this too. After losing about 18 pounds last year, just watching my calories and doing cardio, my clothes were fitting a little looser, but not enough to warrant a whole new wardrobe. Since I started adding strength training to my regular routine this past January I have dropped about 2 sizes. I'm…

Great work - kudos on sticking with it and making such great progress! All the best as you continue on your journey.

Good to know! I've been doing the TDEE - 20 since about late January or mid-February and it has worked pretty well. I definitely feel good and have noticed inches lost, if not always weight lost. Strength training has made a big difference. I still need to work on getting my macros right though.

Great work, sir! With the history of blood sugar and pressure problems that run in my family, that is something I have to keep an eye out for too. Proud of you for all the work you've put in and the great results you're getting!

Man, that is one I liked when I was in high school. Michele Pfeiffer does not age.

My husband LOVES Tokyo Gore Police. And Meatball Machine. I still have yet to watch either movie entirely through with him. One day. Soon.

I work out with a friend 3x a week at a local gym doing strength training. I think the previous poster is right about maintaining lean body mass. If you spend maybe 30-60 minutes 3-4 times per week doing strength/resistance training, that will help you preserve muscle mass and strengthen your bones (very important for us…

Awesome! That was a lot of hard work, I'm sure, but you stuck with it. Way to go! You look so happy :D

Proud of you! That is awesome that you are finding ways to incorporate it into your life, even through unusual circumstances (travel and hotel stays). Good on you!
-
Awesome progress - way to go, lady! You are a warrior.

This sounds good too. I have a group of friends on Facebook who share photos and progress. I also go to the gym with a friend. Being accountable to her when I'm not there helps keep me going (and now, I go even when I know she can't make it)

I've dealt with bouts of demotivation over the course of the last year or so, and it usually only lasts a few days. Then I try to find ways to get motivated again: take my measurements and look at my progress compared to the month before, find healthful recipes, and look over the community forums for success stories. Those…

Terrific work! And you're making it part of your lifestyle, working with your eating habits. That will help you make it work in the long run. Proud of you and what you've accomplished!!

This is where I am. On days when I strength train I'll have breakfast, post-workout snack, morning work break snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner, and sometimes a little extra bowl of cereal for some added fiber. Most of my meals are around ~200-300 calories, and I still generally stick within my calorie budget for any…

I've only been doing since strength training since early January, but I've been going to the gym with my friend who has been doing it for a year. There have been a few times that she warned me that I would have discomfort sitting (after dead lifts, for example). However, generally her advice is to take a break, maybe a day…

Way to go, sir! That is a great accomplishment! You and your lady are looking good.

As I understand it, the less weight you have to lose, the longer it can take to lose it. Since you're 5'4" (my height :) and only weigh 141, your body will probably resist too much weight loss. However, you can definitely improve your muscle tone! I'm currently at 158 lbs and have been doing weight training three times a…

Haha! I don't think I would want to eat it off anyone's stomach, but tzatziki sounds great! I'm hoping to make some this week for homemade falafel sanwiches. I've also been adding sliced banana or chopped nuts with a little honey.
