I've gotten that too. It's just as rude as calling someone fat. People shouldn't comment on others' bodies. If they do say that they're worried about your health, tell them that you're working with your doctor and s/he says you're on the right track. Just keep repeating this until they get tired of hearing you say it.

I agree that you should see what works for you. My running coach says that if you are strenuously working for 60 minutes, you should have something very small before or during your work out, like 100 calories of simple carbs. Otherwise, you run out of glucose and you don't push yourself as hard as you could. If I do more…

I feel the same way - winter just knocked me down. And I find that the runner's high doesn't come until mile 4 for me, whereas it just to come after mile 1. Some things I've been doing to bring it back is track-based intervals, where I run my fastest one way around the track. And listening to Ke$ha.

that's so fantastic.

I use 2 methods. First, I try to guess the portions and the ingredients and figure out what that would amount to. I multiply that by 1.5, because I have a tendency to under estimate, especially sauces. Then, I try another restaurant or Calorie King's guess at a similar dish. I take whatever is higher. I usually save a…

celery is a magic food.

sweet potatoes have more vitamins, and even though they taste sweeter, they have a lower glycemic index - that is, they won't spike your blood sugar and make you hungry again. I've dropped white potatoes after I learned that!

I know I shouldn't agree because I used to be that lame-o power walking on the treadmill. But now there are only two treadmills at the gym that show the calorie count and are big enough that they don't shudder when I run, and I get so mad when my machines are taken, too!

don't eat any instant oatmeal - it will make you hungrier (all the work digesting has been done by boiling it and dehydrating it before it is packages - you have to make your gut work for your food). I buy the big tub of quaker oats and put it in PB jars for work.
-
Mine was making me sad too, so I started using the one at the gym that's only in metrics - kilograms are so much kinder. Since they're bigger, you seem to fluctuate less.

It's okay if you eat them the next day, too. But nuts are really important, and because they're so hard to sneak in with their high calorie count, it's a great opportunity. If it were me, I'd save them until the next day and treat myself.

I'm in a similar spot if you're looking for a buddy. I'm at weight maintenance, but I'm about five pounds above my lowest weight - it's hard to get back. I'd love a group for people who are trying for maintenance or only a few pounds, to keep us inspired and accountable. It's easy when you see the scale going down every…

But today's "normal" size is getting bigger and bigger - it's now normal to be slightly overweight. I think the normalizing of being overweight is hurting our public health - people kept telling me that I didn't have to lose any weight, even though I was clearly chubby at 20 pounds over my ideal weight.

also, alternate booze with non-booze. People suggest water, but I gulp down water so quickly, so I prefer to alternate rum-dietcoke/straight coke/rum-diet coke. I haven't gotten any less of a buzz. My husband has joined me, and he says his hangovers are better.

Hi there, I'm looking for a group to join - maybe this one is it? I'm at weight maintenance, but yo-yoing, so I need some way to be accountable to stick to my calorie goal, and posting it would help. Also, I have a fitness goal. I just finished one leg of a Triathalon, 26 km cycling through mountains, but had to push my…

Also, these foods can cause too much insulin to be produced, which causes too much sugar to be taken out of your blood, which can make you feel hungry more often, so you eat more.

The way I lost weight was without exercise, just calorie counting. You've got to be a real stickler, measuring everything, and don't let youself go over. When I lost weight, I also wasn't eating my "exercise calories" (though I did have my activity level at "slightly active" instead of sedentary, which gave me more…

I lost weight in a university study, and then I was having a hard time keeping it off when I moved to China and didn't have a tracker (before we used PDAs, but the battery kept running low here and it was difficult to charge it because of the voltage difference.) I googled calorie tracker, and found this site, and shared…

Count Calories. Every calorie. Even that little tootsie roll.

I've been making hibiscus tea (it's supposed to reduce your appetite), sometimes with lemon juice or without, with a packet of splenda. It's so pink and just a little sweet that I can trick myself into thinking it's a fruit punch or something. Splenda hasn't been proven to be bad for you - but it hasn't proven to be good…

I tried that Happy Weight link - It had me at five pounds above what I started at - yuck! I trust my doctor and my nutritionist best.

Good for you! Rock it! I love the math, too!

half cup cherry tomatoes, two medium eggs, 156 calories. I'm ready for lunch!

So much good stuff has been reported on nuts - if you can fit them in, you should!

Hi - it might just be the food still in your system. It might not be fat weight. Be good for a week, and it should go back to normal. This happens to me all the time. I think I carry food around for like two days.
-
Yep, it's possible. I did it without exercise, fifteen pounds. It's really importance for maintenance, though, because otherwise the error of a few calories a day just add up on your hips.

And here's one on methods to burn calories without exercising: http://www.kcby.com/news/health/13565082.html

Sometimes, I just don't want to go home, too. That's when I go shopping - calorie free!

Also, try some of Trader Joe's Indian boxed food. yummy.
