  • Have a wonderful celebration and congratulations on the responses. I do not have any specific plans but I do like to take note of the solstices. Like you, I enjoy celebrations that do not revolve around food.
  • I eat a small amount of cashews, goji berries, and golden berries with my morning tea, then have a grain like toast or cereal with non-dairy milk later. FYI, there are some vegan groups on this site -- check them out if you are interested.
  • I do wish you luck! I don't think I am a binge eater (although I have binged for sure!). But I can suggest what has worked for me after my juice fast: When you go back to food, make sure you are frequently filled up with veggies which keeps the tempting stuff from being interesting. Best wishes to you!
  • I made the cheesecake when my omnivore son was making a traditional cheesecake for a school project. Your recipe is awesome and I am grateful that you shared it. I just had the last piece today (a week later) and I can vouch that it keeps well and is very satisfying. Best wishes on your fitness journey. :)
  • I didn't experience any negative side effects but I had already eliminated animal products and caffeine before I started . . .
  • Greetings Atheists! I find Atheists to be funny, compassionate, and interesting. I'm an "I have no idea what is beyond the life we physically see" person -- not really ruling anything out, except that the bible (or any 'holy' text really) doesn't hold any relevance for me. Churches can be a way to get involved in local…
  • This is a great question and discussion. I would put myself in the abstainer camp. I have a hard time having moderate amounts of sugar, but if I can have none then that's just the way it is (not currently limiting sugar though as my diary will confirm). I am super happy with my plant-based diet. I do occasionally have…
  • I am the only one sticking to plant-based foods in my house. My husband and sons are omnivores. Last night for dinner I roasted chicken for them, sauteed some zucchini and mushrooms for all of us and served fresh strawberries on the side. So pretty much they eat a main dish and we all eat the side dishes. I do let my kids…
  • Yay for you for supercharging your nutrition and health! You sound pretty active to be doing a fast, but since your goal is health and not extreme weight loss, you can of course monitor your progress and make changes according to what is right for you. I also found it strange not to be hungry while juicing, not to say I…
  • Yes, I enjoy these podcasts. I like how she prepares us to handle any food-related criticism that comes our way . . .
  • Shirley Valentine. Happy for the reminder about Cool Runnings and will have to check out Almost Famous . . .
  • Trish it looks like you are off to a great start so far. I support the idea of using fresh juice while fasting or supplementing your regular diet. In your case, you are working yourself hard and my opinion is you need to give your body healthy food at that activity level. Juice is best for you right after it is made.…
  • You can check out my food diary. It's public. I eat a ton of food and too many sweets, but I think not eating animal products (exception for some social situations) keeps my fat intake in check. I eat cashews (not many) every day and also have walnuts, pecans, almonds, sunflower seeds, flax seeds, and chia seeds on a…

  • Nature's Path Hemp Plus Granola and Flax Plus Raisin Bran! I also like the Ezekiel Sprouted Whole Grain cereals.
  • I tend to eat over my calories but on my vegetarian diet with lots of nuts and avocado, I often still don't go over the amount of fat MFP allows me (except on weekends) . . .

  • I've eaten lettuce and herbs from my garden so far this year. My strawberries fizzeled out. I have tomatoes and cucumbers growing.
  • Both really cute and flattering, and I think you made the right choice. Now watch out that the red sauce doesn't splatter on your white clothes! And have a great time.
  • I don't have a photo for you but the Old Spaghetti Factory is somewhat casual. A lot of college students eat there because it is a decent value. On the other hand, some people go there on date so you will see some people dressed up but I wouldn't call it a formal place at all. Last time I was there it was after seeing Mama…
  • Just started listening to her podcast and really enjoy it so far.
  • Love it! I tend to take the slow but steady approach but as long as I'm making the effort I am making my health and fitness a priority.
  • That is a trend I am definitly passing on. I love my flat shoes! Merrells are my current favorite. I did buy a pair of pale pink peep-toe wedges from Target with maybe a 3" heel to wear to my nephew's wedding and I hope I can walk gracefully. What annoys me is that the super high heels aren't even appealing to me and it…

  • Hi Janedone, I agree on the ponte knits. I checked out the Penny Chic blog - cute! Never heard of ASOS or Dorothy Perkins but will check them out. Thanks!
  • Terrific job!
  • A great story and some great results -- congratulations!
  • Love shoes, not into heels, thought the Clarks the OP posted a link to were very stylish!

  • I was very happy with my juice fast, and I still have fresh juice for breakfast practically every day. I did not have any bad experiences and I am feeling healthier because of it. I did eat a small amount during my fasting days, usually more produce. I wish everyone continued success. My favorite effect is that my tastes…
  • Beautiful accomplishment -- congratulations!
  • I am trying to post a picture (first time ever on the forum) of the sweater we both have. I wore it tied in front at the waist and it looked pretty cute! Please forgive the grainy quality of the photo!
  • Hi, I'm Sandy and I'm 5'5'' and 157lbs. I love to wear comfortable, pulled together clothing. I am not into purses and will carry the same one until it wears out! I love cardigans and low heel shoes. I mostly wear jeans in the winter and shorts / skirts in the summer, both topped with T-shirts. I almost always wear…
  • I love to practice outside. But I only do so when my neighbor's car is gone because she can see me and I feel weird. Needless to say, my practice is sporadic. When I do practice indoors, my cats thinks it's cool . . .
