Good luck to you sir :)

Big achievement becoming a brownbelt! What's your lineage?

I once read a book. Good enough?

20,000 calories is a lot of food.

In to congratulate you (again). Very happy for you.

Yes, though not particularly hard.

You will lose weight on anything below your maintenance in theory. You are broadly a perfectly healthy weight so there is no reason for you to rush anything. If I were you I would choose a modest deficit (< 500) and at least do some plyometrics or something which can be done in your uni room. At the end of the day though…

I think that most people will comment telling you that you are buying snake oil. Honestly I have no experience of either but broadly speaking "cleanses" tend to be built on disingenuous, and often quite nescient claims and a cursory google search didn't yield anything that would persuade me in the slightest of either…

A set simply describes an amount of reps done sequentially: one set of repetitions. There is no particular limit on how many reps should be in a set but there is evidence that suggests that certain rep ranges promote different types of progress. If in doubt find a beginner program that matches what you want to achieve and…

In an unfortunate coincidence, some places in the UK use foof colloquially to refer to something I will let people google should they wish to.

I think it was a fairly basic/short kettlebell circuit [20kg] (swings, cleans/jerk, OH presses and snatches) followed by some random isolation stuff with dumbbells (bicep/hammer curls, lat raises, tricep press, neautral/normal/arnold press). Then some plyometric jump squats which were probably a poor idea for someone as…

More relevantly, Jiraiya was obviously the best character.

Good luck. I doubt I could do it. Besides, the snatch is much more fun. :p

Sounds good. :)

Buy a skipping rope.

The whole point of these routines is to see some sort of linear progression (adding weight in a routine way essentially). This should be achievable for a considerable period of time. How much weight you add is up to you really - as long as you are constantly progressing then you are doing fine. If you want simplicity then…

Okay, I measured my actual RHR and it was 62.

I have what looks to be a medium sized one on my wrist that gives me no bother at all, my friend has one on his finger and I know he semi-regularly lifts weights with it. I suppose it is just one of those things you may have to adapt to if it proves to be a persistent issue.

You will see much slower progress on isolation exercises so I wouldn't worry too much about that, and plenty of people have problems lifting anything heavy for the lat raise. Aside from the advice not to worry too much about such things being true, a possible explanation for your ostensible weakening could be nutrition.…

You have a great trainer. This said they might be dropping a hint by drawing you pulling 3 plates when your PB is 110 - clearly they have plans for you :p

Ditch the gloves and buy some chalk. Also, good luck! :D

I'm in :)

Curls for the girls, tris for the guys.

Hey. Firstly, and most importantly, congratulations on making the decision to take account of your health and try to improve it. I am early on in the same process myself. Secondly, you will have lost plenty of fat but also some muscle and a fair amount of water. As a larger guy it will be harder to see improvements in the…

I agree with the above. My last relationship broke down after having been together for several years because of how badly I had let myself go (and not just physically). I am certain that if he is worth being with he will want to know how you are feeling because it should be important to him. Maybe it will work out and…

Right this second around 72 - 75ish but this probably isn't accurate as I have been busy doing things. Last time I checked my RHR I was heaver and certainly less fit and it was around 68 if I recall. Pretty average but at over 400 pounds I'll take it. I am certain that after 20 minutes of kettlebell circuits that at least…

Don't copy what you see random people in the gym doing, they are just as likely to be wrong.

Great job on doing something that makes you happier! With hindsight do you wish you had done things differently to try to minimize the potential for loose skin/muscle loss and such? Good luck for the future.
