Yes, it sounds like a good idea. I found out the hard way that knee issues will wear you down and get worse if you try to rehab too fast. Don't rush your progress. Think long-term and let your body adapt to the changes going on with your muscles, posture, and stress on your joints. Just keep moving! Good luck!

You can do all sorts of exercises with a medicine ball that are not just strength training but provide excellent cardio. Try some overhead slams on the ground or against a wall for starters. It's a great workout for your core!

I'm not sure if you are wearing the same sneakers for running and elliptical, but give your shoes a day off after working out to give them a chance to dry out. Should be better for your feet.

I am always really careful not to let my knees go farther forward than my toes. When I was starting out I also took a weight bench about knee height and put it in back of me so I knew how low I had to go - when you bump it you are low enough.
-
Me too!

Agree - foam roller and yoga. Do either depending on how much time you have and where you are.

If you can get up for a few minutes here and there, try climbing some stairs. It's quick and is great exercise.

Diet sodas don't have calories and sugar, but they do trick your body into craving sweets, and as noted above, screw up your body's insulin response. They make you fat by changing your metabolic system. When in doubt go with the basic rule: garbage in, garbage out.

I am just getting back to exercising after an injury and am eating organic foods as much as possible. I am also using holistic approaches to health and living and would be happy to partner up with you for ideas and motivation.

I'm trying to keep my fiber up so i can't go with the juicer - it takes a lot of the fiber out of the fruit. I usually just throw everything in the blender and make a smoothie out of it.
-
I'm definitely going to try some of these - especially the Stash teas next week. I really like the Honest Teas - especially the Moroccan Mint Green Tea. Very little sugar and tastes great!

I'm in. I'm going for 8 lbs as well.
