I forgot to mention, my insurance co didn't require me to go to monthly weight loss visits with my PCP but my bariatric program still did, I did 3-4 months of them. It is documentation to show you are loosing the weight pre op. My insurance do used to require 6 months of weight loss visits with the PCP but dropped those in…

Most bariatric programs will have records of all your nut. apt's, psych apts, PCP apts, and other stuff to have a record of why you need the surgery so when they send your paperwork into the insurance co. you have a very good chance of being approved. I didn't have high blood pressure, diabetes or sleep apna but did have…

I've been taking Biotin since pre op. I have noticed the last two months loosing more hair when I shower. I am 13 weeks post op from sleeve surgery. I talked to my hairdresser about this and she suggested using Grund Pro Design ReviveTH Thinning Hair Shampoo and Conditioner and ReviveTH Thinning Hair Treatment in a spray…

I've look at them at stores but honestly they don't look like they would be very comfy. I guess at my age, 48, I am about comfort. I stil need to loose 40-50 more pounds and maybe once I am done loosing I might be more apt to buy one and wear one. I guess the best thing to do is go try one on and see if you like it. They…

Best thing is to ask your surgeon. I had sleeve surgery and took 2 full weeks off and then came back to work working 1/2 days 8am to Noon. I have a desk job. I used vacation time and only told one other co worker that I was having sleeve surgery. I told her cause she had had sleeve surgery. I did tell another co worker I…

When getting dressed this morning for work I put on size 16 pants and they are too big! Need to clean out the size 16's bottoms and start buying 14's and 12's I guess! YAY!!

Congrats! Great job! A friend of mine told me to go to the Pet supply store and find bags of dog food that equal your weight loss and then try to carry them if I needed inspiration or a reflection of how much I have lost so far. Butter or sacks of potatos would work too! Keep up the great work!

I am three months out from sleeve surgery and have a hard time getting 800 calories in a day. I do focus on protein try to get 80 grams in a day. I have to drink a shake for breakfast in order to get close to the 80 grams. My nut. told me I need to get in 1000 cals a day but I just don't see how I could without grazing all…

I was told to do a 1200-1400 cal when I started with my bariatric program. I lost 47 pounds from Feb till June 11, 2012 on it and using MFP. 2 weeks before my sleeve surgery I had to do a liquid diet that consisted of protein shakes with Whey Isolate Protein as the first listed ingrediant. 2 mixed with skim milk and 2…

I had the sleeve but was told Bread would not be my friend post op and that is good cause it was too good a friend before surgery! LOL! Thin toasted bread works best is what my nut and surgeon told me. I have only tried 1/2 of a 1/2 of those thin bagels toasted with some peanut butter on it and I did ok. Dry meats can…

I've noticed it too sometimes. Less padding I guess. I seem to always loose my butt first when I loose weight! I think it just takes time for your body to get used to less weight to carry around and you will have pains in certain areas due to rapid loss of weight. I think this is why my shoulders are hurting me, dr's can't…

Hi! I had Sleeve surgery June 11, 2012 and have lost 35 pounds since then. I lost 47 pre op. I had some issues right after surgery where I wasn't getting in only 100-200 cals a day and not enough protein so it slowed my weight loss down. Then I was able to get 500 cals in and 70 grams of protein and was loosing about 1.5…

Are you saying you have lost 100 pounds in 6 months and are feeling weak? It could be due to muscle loss. That is a huge amount to loose in 6 months. I am 10 weeks out and have only lost 35 pounds post op. I am having shoulder muscle issues since surgery and my physical therapist thinks its due to weight loss and loosing…

I'm 5'4". SW: 270 CW: 187 GW: 130-140 I can't remember when I weighed 130-140! I am trying to make mini goals for myself. The last one was under 200 now it's 175. Trying to do the mini goals in 20-25 pound losses. I started MFP mid Jan 2012. Even at 130-140 I don't think that is the correct weight for me since alot of…

I can tell a difference! I feel the same way I can't tell a difference in pics of myself or even looking in the mirror but do notice when I put on a pair of pants that fit 3 weeks ago and now they are too baggy to wear like this morning when getting ready for work. Keep up the great work! You should be very proud of…
