I have the fitbit one and just got it couple weeks ago. I love it! Makes me move more and park further out to get more exercise. I love trying to beat my miles/steps from the day before.

I work in an office and walk one mile or more in my office hallways in 20 minutes during my lunch hour. I brought my tennis shoes and socks and keep them in my office and daily bring my iPod and HRM watch to use while walking.
-
I do both. I walk 2 miles in 30 minutes to a Leslie Sansone dvd M-F at 5:30am and also walk 1 mile or more in 20 minutes on my lunch hour in my office halls M-F. I try to get to the gym M-Thurs. also for 1 -2 hours. I do cardio only on M and W and do weight machines first then cardio on T and Thursday. I go on the weekends…

Zumba might not be the best thing for your knees. The last time my knee acted up is when I did Zumba and I was even modifying the moves cause I knew what my knee could and couldn't handle. Good footware and custom made orthotics can help alot. Any exercise done in water is less stress on the knees and other joints. Walking…

Nectar brand is good. Unjury is good, Jay Robb is good. Check out your local Vitamin Shoppe or online and buy some packets to have pre op and post op. Nectar has alot of flavors. I like Chocolate Truffle and Fuzzy Navel the best but have pacekts I bought pre op I haven't tried too. Unjury you have to buy from them but…

Pre op I was 270 on 2/1/12 and am 5'4". By surgery day on 6/11/12 I was down to 223. Yes I had lost 47 pounds on my own with the help of MFP but I knew if I didn't have the sleeve surgery I would fall off the wagon and never get to my goal as what has happened many times in my life. The surgeon goes by the weight you are…

I was no alcohol after WLS. I did have a margarita on New Years Eve it was made pretty light though I sipped on it the entire evening. That is the only alcohol I have had since my sleeve surgery 6/11/12.

Joined a gym and walked into one for the first time last week was a biggie for me. I have never joined a gym and had only done a treadmill and exercise bike in physical therapy for my knee. Since Fri I have been back there to work out on Sun, Mon, Tues and going tonight after work. I love it! Doing weight machines Tues and…

I was counting it when I did heavy duty cleaning but now that I have a fitbit I don't. I only manually put in what my fitbit won't register like stationary bike and elliptical at the gym. For weight machines I don't count it either but I do log it under strength training in MFP but no calories are given to me and that is…

I bought the Fitbit one about a week and 1/2 ago and I love it! I didn't want to wear a braclet and it doesn't show you any stats on it which hte fitbit one does. It really does challenge you to move. Yesterday evening I didn't go to the gym cause I was busy but was determined to get my 10,000 or more steps in so I was…

Your swimming is great and if you enjoy it keep doing that. Walking is a good one starting out too. I used the Leslie Sansone Walk Away the pounds dvds for a few years. You can do 1 mile in 15 minutes and 2 miles in 30 minutes and she has others up to 4 & 5 miles. I do the 2 mile 30 minute one M-F at 5:30am and then I walk…

I haven't had a knee replacement but I do have bone on bone on my left knee and my knee cap is crooked. My top leg bone is off about 1/2 inch from the bottom leg bone also. I last had an epsiode with it in Feb 2012. They took xrays, I have MRI done of both knees previously. The xray showed the bone on bone and being off…

Forgot to mention I had the sleeve WLS. Some drs will allow NSAIDS after sleeve surgery but my group won't. I was on them before surgery and had to get off them a month before surgery May 2012 and haven't been on them since. I was worried I would be in horrible pain being off them but I am not. Loosing the weight has…

It's nasty! I have co workers at my office that do this all the time and I walk around with my nose covered by my shirt sleeve! A big office no no I feel.

I walked into a gym for the first time ever in my life last Friday morning. I was nervous I admit. I am usually pretty self confident even when I weighed 270 lbs and never really let my weight hold me back from things but I doing this gym thing was making me nervous. I had only been on a treadmill and exercise bike in…

I don't use the pre mixed ones. I like Nectar Chocolate Truffle and Nectar Fuzzy Navel. Unjury is good too. I buy mine online usually and get free shipping. I usually can get the big jug of Nectar brand for $34.99.

I got a FitBit One on 1/12/13 and it really has helped improved me to move more! I did 72,127 steps…

I was told never any NSAIDS. They can cause uclers in what's left of my stomach (sleeve).

Try your local consignment clothing stores. I have made about $300 off my fall and winter clothes that were too big. What they didn't take I donated to my local Domestic Violence Women's Shelter. I will be taking in my too big Spring and Summer clothes into the consigment store in March or April.

I just joined a gym last week and had never been on an elliptical ever till last Friday. I did 25 minutes on the treadmill, 25 minutes on the stationery bike and 18 minutes on the ellipitcal. My hip was kinda sore the rest of the day and Saturday and I do believe it was from the ellipitcal. I have went back on Sunday and…

Congrats Chris! You look GREAT! Keep up the hard work!

My bariatric program will not do surgery on anyone that drinks soda or caffine or alcohol. You have to be free of these before surgery before you can even be team approved for them to send in your insurance paperwork and get a surgery date. I quit drinking diet pepsi in March of 2012 and haven't had any since. I don't miss…

It depends on how much you have lost and how old you are and how long you have been obese. I have lost 123 lbs in the last year and have saggy skin. I have been obese my entire life and I am 49 years old. I have exercised during my weight loss and recently joined a gym to do the weight machines to tone up but I know that…

It's pretty darn cold here in Central IL the last day or two and I still went and parked at the farthest parking spot in the lot too! Headed there today after work!
-
Heck yes it counts. It's hard work! I lost 47 pounds before my sleeve surgery between 2/1/12 -6/11/12 and have lost 77 since surgery on 6/11/12. WLS is just a tool not a magic wand. You have to change your lifestyle and what you put into your mouth. I exercise 80 or minutes a day and have just joined a gym to up my cardio…

I've been hitting the clearance racks recently. Found some short sleeve tops at Walmart for $1 and $3 a couple weeks ago. Found some work out pants at Gordmans for $4.00! Also have gotten workout pants at Salvation Army for 49 cents on Saturdays. Brand new never worn. Didn't try them on just hoped they fit and took them…

Love my Fitbit one. Just got it last Saturday. I have it linked to MFP. It is great and very, very motivating!
-
I use MFP and FitBit. So I should be eating my exercise cals back? I set my cals at 1000 a day but have had gastric sleeve surgery back in 6/11/12 is why it is set at 1000 cals a day. My nut. and bariatric physical therapist told me if I exercised more than 30 minutes a day to start eating 1200 cals a day. I have been…

Decaf coffee and Decaf iced or hot tea I count as my water. Also I count Sobe 0 cals too as water. Sugar Free/Fat Free hot chocolate mixed with water I also count as water. I try to get at least 80 oz of water of some sort in daily.

2/14/13 goal 135 1/3/13 weighed in at 149.7. 1/10/13 weighed in at 147.50 loss of 2.20 pounds 1/17/13 weighed in at 147 UGH only lost .50 pounds. Seem to be at a stall. Been 147 for almost a week now. I did up my exercise the last week to 1 hour and 20 minutes a day in three different time frames, 5:30am, Noon and 4:30pm.…
