  • No I'm not confusing the two at all, as you would see from reading my previous reply and from looking at the calculator. I love the way people on here assume everyone else is stupid.

  • That may be so for your current weight. But, if I put my stats in and run it as if I was going to eat my BMR calories for the next year, I'd lose 10lbs. In a year. If I do it for 1200 cals, 240 below BMR, I'd lose 36lbs in 6 months. So as I said, if you're not *that* overweight then eating your BMR will mean a very slow…

  • Most websites like this factor in an actual burn of 1.2 times BMR for an adult living a slightly active life. Sorry but that won't result in big long term weight loss unless you do a lot of exercise. Also don't forget as you do lose weight your BMR will reduce as well. Check out the link if you really want to crunch the…

  • I think if you're not very overweight then eating your BMR will not really result in weightloss unless you are exercising a lot. If you eat what you burn off how are you going to get the defecit? It takes a lot of exercise to burn enough to lose even 1lb (3600 cals apparently). http://bwsimulator.niddk.nih.gov/ This…

  • I did my first half, it was hard but I got round. Straight after I said never again but I already want to do it again next year :o) I might do the Liverpool Women's 10k in 5 weeks. And then later in the year I'd really like to do a Hellrunner! At the moment I am working on upping my pace and HIIT by running up the hill by…

  • Thanks for the advice on this thread :o) I've only ever done a 10k and 5k before, have never run this far - race is in 3 weeks and 6 days - eek! I have upped calories but didn't do well on Saturday's run, only managed 5k as legs were aching. May have been generally tired though, few early starts with the kids :-/ I usually…
  • Thanks for the tips :o) xx
  • Thank you! I ran 10k yesterday and was fine, ache today though, sore shins!! I will up my cals and see how I go over next 3 weeks, see if I can get my distance up to 15 + kms. :o)
  • I meant 5-6 days every week, and am training for a half marathon in 4 weeks, can't just stop!
  • Thanks for replies, didn't realise diary was private, will sort it out! I don't usually eat back my exercise caps to be honest, although I have gone over today. I might relax diet til after race - half marathon in 30 days!!
  • Hiya, I'm new to MFP and this board. Have signed up for the Liverpool Half Marathon which is on March 18th and I'm struggling at the moment! Trying to stick to 1200 cals at least 5-6 days a week and slightly more 1-2 and legs are really aching. Am only up to about half the distance at the moment and just over 4 weeks to go…
