10 minute mile is a good pace. I do between 9 and 10, depending on how far I am going or how I am feeling that day. I don't remember which show it was, but I heard on TV that the national average in the US is about 12 minutes.

Since starting to lose, I've lost a 5000 BTU air conditioner. Since MFP just about a cinder block. I also like telling people I've lost the combined weight of my children.

I love running in the morning. It really gets me going for the day! The days I don't get my time, I am pretty cranky. I do enjoy evening walks with the kids in the stroller or with the dog.

Running, for me! I only do the elliptical if I need a low impact exercise.

I can't help with the police officer part specifically, but I did have to get under 16:20 for my mile and a half for the Air Force, in 6 months after having a baby. I now do it in about 13:00. All I did was keep pushing. First, my goal was to finish without walking and not worry about time. Once I could consistently do…

If you are just starting a new excerise, it could be water retention. But I am running, eating the calories MFP recommends and I eat back my exercise calories if I am still hungry. And I've started weight lifting again.

I would advise to not be too hard on yourself when baby comes. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to heal and get into the baby routine. I didn't start really working out again until about 4 months pp this time (though I had a repeat csection and those suck!). I started easy and built back into my routine and now…

Kirin Tor, Horde. I just started playing again, now that my kids go to bed and sleep through the night! I don't see myself getting back into raiding though. I'm usually too tired to play long when I get on the computer!

I agree with this as well. I'm not usually hungry right when I get up, so I will pack some hard boiled eggs and fruit to bring with me. I go on my run and get myself to work and eat the eggs and fruit around 9:30, which is at least 4 hours after I wake up.

I've been running a lot, which has helped drop a lot of weight. I actually weigh less than before I was pregnant with boy #1 and boy #2 isn't a year old yet. I've finally been adding weight lifting back in. I had done it up until like 8 months pregnant and just never got back to it. But I am now and it helps. I still have…

If I'm lifting, the only person I will go with is my sister. There is no extra "lag time" because we both don't want to waste our time at the gym. It's fun with her. Otherwise, I lift alone. When I am running, I don't mind running with others but as long as they are close to the same pace as me. It might sound mean, but I…

I say eat them! I have two for breakfast most mornings myself.

My boys are still little (one is almost 3 and the other is 11 months) so definately some good ideas here for later in life! I also do the counting thing. Boy does he move fast once the count begins! He's going through some trying times (terrible two's and all...) and I've finally found that threatening to take away outside…

I married a gamer. We actually met over a D&D game. He was walking through while my friends and I were playing and asked to join. He got me into Warhammer later, and we both jumped into MMOs together (though he plays those more seriously now than I do; we have 2 kids. He stays up and games and I just want to sleep!). I've…

I enjoy all three, but if I was told I could only pick one, I would pick D&D/tabletop games hands down. I love them so much! I actually got to game with my old buddy last week for the first time in years, and it was great.

I know the Air Force measures me at a 31 - 31.5" waist for my fitness assessment. But it goes by measuring right above the hip bones. Go a little lower and you hit my "baby gush". Not sure where my measurement is at down there...

I don't eliminate, I just moderate. There are certain things that, even though they are junk food, I just don't want to give up. I had a slice of pizza for lunch yesterday even. I just eat healthy most of the time and stick to the calorie goals that the site gave me. And chug more water after. Maybe take the dog for an…

I had some kind of weird burning sensation in my tummy. I thought it was the after effects of having my wisdom teeth out a few days before and finally eating "real food" again. Turned out I was pregnant.

I'd let her be. Like others said, she won't change if she isn't ready. I know how it feels, though, to want to help someone. My coworker (and friend) has decided he needs to lose weight again. So he's back on his crazy 1000 calorie diet, with the goal of burning part of that a day. He always gains it back when he eats…

Doesn't sound very good to me. I'm with the "keep bacon and ice cream separate" crowd. Anyone ever been to a Friendly's? They have a cheeseburger that, instead of a bun, is two grilled cheese sandwiches...I really want to try one, but I first have to find people to split it with! Even when I used to eat too much, that…

I was recovering from a csection, so it was kind of like starting from the very beginning (fitness wise), even though I ran and lifted before. I started by taking the kids on evening walks. It took about 4 months after the baby was born to really get into anything else. In the mornings, I started running again. I have…

I usually get up at 5am, rush around to get things together and dress the squirtlings and get to the gym for PT at 0730. I don't eat. We go on our run, I shower and head to the office where I have a banana and yogurt around 0930 and lunch is around noon. It's been working great for me! I eat breakfast on the weekends,…

I have an undead rogue (combat), blood elf paladin (prot) and blood elf hunter (I don't even remember). I haven't played in forever though. I miss it. I hope to start playing again now that both my kids pretty much sleep through the night. I haven't even played any of the newest expansion and never even made it to Ice…

My pace depends on how I'm feeling and how far I'm going, as well as my route (some of my runs are trail runs). But I go anywhere from 8:30 to 10:00 per mile. I run almost every weekday and my runs vary between 1.5 miles (practice for my fitness assessment) and 4.25 miles.

Personally, I step on the scale every other day or so, but my official weigh day is Wednesday. I don't have a problem with what I am doing, only because I fully understand the joys of water retention and weight fluctations that differences don't get me down. If you think it will frustrate you then yeah, I wouldn't invest…

For me, it's kind of a nagging voice in the back of my head that gets drowned by my overwhelming desire to have baby #3 someday. With my first, I was already overweight when I got pregnant (planned). I was about 165 and was around 200 when he was born. I was scared to tell myself I was going to lose weight in case I…

Who are you! Mindy, currently living in New Jersey Age? 29 Female or male? Female RP? I use to ALL the time. I love it and miss it so much. Hoping to find a group some day that could deal with late night games (after kids go to bed!) Mostly played D&D and White Wolf systems, though played some of almost everything else…

Haha Pokemon too! My friend in high school and I had our gameboys all the time and played the original all the time; always ready to battle! My boys are about the same age, too! One is 2.5 and the baby is about to be 10 months.

Oh how I miss gaming! I don't really get to play anything anymore. I have two young kids and my husband's work schedule is all over the place. When things finally calm down at night, I just want to sleep, too! Some of my favorite video games - Most of the Final Fantasy series Secret of Mana Chrono Trigger Legend of Zelda A…

I have been thinking about starting to use air filters in my house, too. Do you have a good recommendation? My house is pretty open, especially on the first floor, so I would probably need a few, and would hate to drop cash on something that doesn't work very well.
