October SW~ 173.2 October End GW~ 168 I didn't fair so well in September (my own fault) but I'm ready to kick October's *kitten*!! I'm also quitting smoking this month (Sunday is my quit day) so this one won't be easy but I'm ready for it!! Good luck all!!
-
I failed August & September, let's see if I can kick October's buns!!

When you started this, what kind of activity were you doing? I skated flat track roller derby for a while, injured my back, spent 18 months nursing that injury/making excuses- the end of the 18 months is when I started running. I repeated every week AT LEAST once. Still go back to some of them occasionally What was your…

I love food, almost all food. Sweet, salty, spicy, cheesy, all of it. Potatoes are my favorite food group. I was diagonsed with asthma as a child and my mother is (even now) rather over protective. I have impulse control issues. I started smoking as a teenager (my quit day is Monday, October 4th- yes that's next week).…

I run 6-7 minutes, walk 30-60 seconds, almost all the time. Since I'm a fairly new runner (and an asthmatic) it helps me feel like I'm going to survive the remaining miles. Just work to finish it and be proud of yourself for the accomplishment, there's always another race!
-
You finished, that's HUGE! And you were so close to your goal! Don't beat yourself up about it- use it as a goal, aim for your next 5k to be 2 minutes faster (or whatever makes sense for your training schedule). You should be proud, so many people never even try. You tried AND finished!

I, too, am a new runner & I lost my grandfather to prostate cancer five years ago. I had no idea there are runs for it! I'm going to have to hunt for one in Ohio! Way to go momma & congrats!

All was well until I left work... sickly child, "reward" from the bf (he bought me a HUGE bag of Twix for finishing my first race), stress (=beer)... All in all, I FAILED Skinny Wednesday.

I do too but they ARE a bit pricey. The sports wrap (over a sports bra) and doubling (bottom bra being smaller) are the only things I had even remote success ith before my Shock Absorber. Good luck and take care of the girls!

My 5 mile run didn't *quite* happen this morning, at about 4 miles it started pouring. So I took a short cut home and did 100 jumping jacks in my garage. 64 oz of water so far :drinker: Lots of day left, maybe some wind sprints with my little one after school?? Good luck all, I'll check back in later!

I'm in! Went WAY over on my calories today (bf & little one wanted cookies, so I baked... and ate). Changing my AM run to 5 miles, instead of 5k (not quite double); jumping jacks, (girly) push ups and planks; and I just might start 30 Day Shred... it's been sitting on the shelf for SO long, I think Jillian is getting bored!
-
How amazing is that feeling?!
-
I recently started running and I always doubled up but then a dear friend introduced me to the Shock Absorber. I haven't found them available in stores in the US and they're kinda pricey ($52 before shipping) but my girls are on lock down & not going ANYWHERE.

 Bump... for dinner

10,442 + 4 = 10,446!!!!!!

Congrats on your decision to join and on your AWESOME 5k last weekend! Welcome!

Use your anger and turn it into motivation to change things! This is SUCH a difficult journey, especially when you start out with negativity. I'd hate to see your anger turn into discouragment and cause you to lose your way. You've taken the first step, keep up the good work and be proud of what you're doing!!

Question about the challenges... Am I supposed to be counting the exercise in my log??
-
Thanks Bru! Congrats to you too!!

09/20 weigh in... 172.8!! I was starting to think the scale was broken, it hadn't moved AT ALL in weeks! Friday I completed my first 5k, with a time of 37:09. Then I decided to do some celebratory bike path skating. I have road rash that my son thinks "Looks so cool!". Good luck on this weeks challenge eveyone, I'll be…

My local library has a HUGE selection. I take out one or two at a time and then I can buy the ones I like and return the ones I don't like. I'll be honest, I have a pretty short attention span- most of them just get returned!

Not long after my son started going to daycare the director took a video of him on her cell and sent it to me. I got it as I was pulling into work and it made me laugh. Logan was standing at the door crying and then h turned around and smiled at her and said "Mommy's gone. Can I have a cookie?". Apparently as soon as my…

I agree with brittonymiller's hubby, I think the Bud Select 55 tastes like water. The MGD 64 has decent flavor for a light beer and neither have very much alcohol so you're less likely to get tipsy & make poor food choices. Also keep in mind, it's been a while since you drank so your tolerance is going to be pretty low.…

You amaze us all! Congrats on all your hard work!!

Wow! Terrible weekend, ate a lot, drank a lot, didn't exercise much at all. Had a *really* bad run yesterday, but learned a few very valueable lessons. I've been running at 5am to prepare for my first race, the race is at 630pm- turns out the weather is VERY different in the afternoon/evening than it is in the early…

No actual workout yesterday but I did spend an hour sword fighting with a 3 & 7 year old. Was exhausted when I went to bed so I overslept and missed my run this morning. Guess tomorrows will have to be longer, I need to work on my endurance anyway!! Good luck to everyone this holiday weekend!!

Thought I ended August at 175.8 , turns out TOM was coming to visit. Weighed in this morning at 174.0. September goal is 169. My first 5k is the 17th & I think I'm going to be able to make my time goal!!
-
I have an obsession with my scale, I weigh everytime I walk into the bathroom. However, I only record on Mondays and NEVER on TOM's week. It's easier on my ego that way.
