  • My reasons for running change every day. I started running because a friend lost 65 pounds running & I was envious. I kept running because I loved how my legs looked/felt. I started running in races because I cried when the above mentioned friend crossed the finish line of her first half. I trained for (& ran) my first…
  • Oh he!! no. He said he doesn't want to ... have people wonder why he is with me. He wants to check me out the way he does thin chicks. He said he has only been holding onto me because he loves me and hopes I will change. He said he would pay for me to reduce my boobs now just so I would look less heavy. He says I am…
  • My (Army) other half tells me all the time that not everybody is cut out to be the other half of a military couple. It takes an incredibly strong woman and a solid faith in your relationship. I wish I had words of wisdom for you but in the end only you and your husband can decide whats right for you. I applaud your…
  • Ford. Because it was bought for me. And you don't argue when somebody GIVES you a new car.
  • PERFECT analogy!
  • I ran my first half marathon a week and a half ago. The plan was to drink my weight in beer afterwards. I'm not sure which was better, the first beer or going to bed at 9 pm!
  • I track the mileage on my shoes (as well as my actual running) on the Runner's World website. I usually start to feel a soreness/stiffness the day or so after my long runs when I hit 350ish and replace by 400.
  • Cheddar brat & 2 glasses of chardonnay. It's been a really long day :(
  • WOW!! You look amazing! Good for you!!!
  • I got the "Let me know you're home safely" line at the end of my first date with my SO. I'll never know if he was genuinely concerned or just wanted to put the ball in my court, either way it worked perfectly. That was almost five years ago.
  • I'm a full time "single" mom (referee, financial advisor, counselor, laundress, personal shopper, etc) to a nine year old who is currently dead set on getting his black belt in under 4 years, help run the Mileage Club at my sons school, the significant other of a deployed infantry sergeant, a full time student and I'm…
  • Dear 16 year old me, You're an *kitten* with terrible taste in guys. Hug your mother, she deserves better from you! Stop screwing off in school, you're too smart to be THAT lazy! Quit smoking now, I'm begging. If you think he's hot/cool/whatever, walk away. Your taste doesn't improve until you're in your mid-20's. Should…
  • Amen! Thank you! As a woman complete SECURE in her relationship, I'd want to know if I needed to bring my A game!
  • Motly I agree with this but... forget speed! I "run" at an average 5.2 mph (11:30 mile), many consider this a jog or slow run. Speed isn't your concern. After your DOCTOR has told you that your ticker is in good shape to give it a go, and get yourself fitted!! Shoes are the numero uno in my running (hip/knee…
  • Have the current and the ex met before? If there's already some underlying tension/competition/whatever then I'd consider the "heads up" was perfectly acceptable. Is it that he wanted everyone else (not just the ex) in attendance to see how far he's upgraded? Or is it that he was trying to be considerate but sucks at…
  • I came home yesterday with rug burn on my left knee, a bite mark on one arm, a really sore neck and it wasn't even payday! They're SO good to me!!
  • Currently 180, goal is 155ish. I figure I'll re-evaluate when I get closer and go from there.
  • I'm not actually a spouse either but we've been together four and a half years. I'm hoping we change the not a spouse thing pretty soon after he gets home from Afghanistan (Oct '12!) :)
  • Another +1 for C25K. It took me 14 weeks (instead of 9) to get through it. I finished 18 months ago and am running my first half marathon in 25 days!! I have no doubt that if you put your mind to it and committ, you'll get there sooner than you think!
  • Stella makes me happy but I *LOVE* Dragons Milk (New Holland Brewery, MI). However, I usually drink Miller Lite because of the calories... and the amount I drink.

  • I wondered the exact same thing. My man is a couple of inches shorter than me, pretty small frame and in great shape- I've always weighed more than him and probably always will. It doesn't bother either of us.
  • This. I still hate the first mile of EVERY run, but I love the last mile. I love the feeling of running, I hate the actual running part. Yesterday I ended a long run a mile early because of my allergies (was pretty sure I was going to die) and then on the drive home saw someone running and immediately got jealous that I…
  • My former MIL is a very judgemental, stab-you-in-the-back-in-the-name-of-Jesus kind of woman. Having her in my past made it difficult for me to trust my soon to be MIL in the beginning but I'm so glad I eventually did! My (nearly) MIL is one of the nicest, most genuine people I've ever met. She lives very close to us and…
  • Bump. Made these once with kale and they weren't so great. Going to be giving it another shot with spinach!
  • Long run on Mondays, Wednesday, Thursday easy, Friday speed work. My long runs are 10 miles at this point. I try to work in at least one circuit training or yoga class/week. Everything you've said is what I seemed to be finding for myself. Glad to know it's not just that I'm not trying hard enough! Thanks for the advice!!
  • I, too, have exercise induced asthma and am on ProAir (CFC free albuterol) and Advair. I started walking the couch to 5k almost two years ago. It took me 20 weeks to get through the nine week plan. I consider myself a runner now. Slow, but still a runner. Some days a 12 minute mile hurts me, other days I can pull off an 8…
  • Born at Wright-Patterson, graduated from Graham Local (Champaign County), moved to Miamisburg when I got married, Dayton right after my divorce and have been living in Columbus (Clintonville) for a few years now. LOVE Cbus!!!
  • Sure, if they're already predisposed to that (eating disorders are not just social issues) and if she's telling them on a regular basis on fat & disgusting they are. BUT she's made it a point to say she tells them how wonderful they are and how much she loves them DAILY. She's just worried about her obsession rubbing off…
