  • Wow! Good for you! 8 lbs since Jan 2nd is awesome! I have that DVD somewhere - I guess I should dig it out - I think when I first tried it (about 40 lbs ago) it was so hard, but I think I might be able to get through it now :) I have been engaged for 14 years - does that count??  It's me doing the stalling -…

  • I really like Dance Dance Revolution - it's fun and does work up a sweat on the harder levels. I have Wii Fit, Wii Fit Plus, EA Active (including more workouts and EA Active 2), JM Fitness Revolution, and a bunch of others. So far I like the EA Active the best, although it does seem to go through a lot of batteries on the…
  • If you choose to have some chocolate in the house, store it in the freezer. That way, it takes much longer to eat and you can really savour it as it melts
  • It's not alcoholic, but it is so good, and really low cal... 4oz of Perrier (or other soda) water, 2oz of pomegranate juice, about 15 pomegranate seeds. Put in a nice wine glass and watch the seeds move around in the bubbles. So pretty and very tasty :drinker:
  • Like several other people mentioned, black coffee is okay in moderation, and if you choose to add something to it, that is what can slow you down! I used to use a lot of flavoured coffee creamers, and that added up to a huge amount of unnecessary fat and sugar. I cut back to Splenda and skim milk, then chose to stop using…
  • The pre-prepared meals, as far as I remember as I don't eat them anymore (too much sodium, sugar, etc.- even if they are 'lean') are really not that filling (I was always hungry an hour later), so feel free to add some fresh cut veggies to bulk up your meal, boost your fibre intake, and add a few more calories to fill up…
  • I've been trying to think of some, too - as I'm not a big mani/pedi/spa person, and yeah - it gets really expensive (and pointless) to buy clothes that aren't going to fit for long... How about some 'active' mini-goals? Like going to an indoor rock climbing gym, or scuba diving, or whatever tickles your fancy? I think when…
  • What a great idea! I have a hard time getting jeans to fit anyways, as my butt and hips always seem to be too big for my waist, and I always have a gigantic gap at the waist, and it all bunches up when I wear a belt to hold up my ever-loosening jeans... I did manage to find some of my old jeans yesterday (which I never let…
  • I second this suggestion - it is really good in hot or cold water! Or use the real thing and toss a couple of wedges of lemon or lime in your water.
  • Check out www.thegraciouspantry.com - it's a wonderful source for great recipes, and she has just posted a whole bunch of clean eating Super Bowl recipes!
  • Here is a link to the most fabulous chocolate recipe ever - Peanut Butter Coconut Oil Fudge! I have made this a few times - and instead of pouring into a tray and freezing and cutting, I use the little tiny paper 'truffle' cups, and it makes a lot of them. I keep them in the freezer, and if you just take one and savour it,…
  • Sometimes?? Lucky girl! I think mine are glued together  I'll be happy to be able to wear shorts without them riding up in the middle - for now I can get away with capris because they can't ride up past my knees
  • I'm in! I have my ticker set up - just waiting for February to start now!
  • Good for you! I'm pretty new here myself - love all the activity on this site! I've been struggling too, but all I can do is just pick up the next day and keep going - one 'off' day doesn't mean it's over!
  • Ha ha! This is absolutely hilarious! Yes - much of it is true, but also truly sad that it needs to be spelled out in an email! I think I probably would have peed myself laughing had I received this email!  That being said - I work in a shop and am the only female that uses the shop washroom - I often have to…
  • I'm new at this too - I will send you a request :)
  • I love Almond Breeze Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk - only 40 calories per cup and it's really, really good! If you're used to having a lot of sugar or sweetener it may seem a bit bland at first, but once you cut down on the added sugar you can really taste the almond and vanilla flavour! I use it in pretty much…
  • Wow! What an amazing and inspiring transformation! You've done a great job - keep it up :drinker:
  • You look great! Congrats on all your hard work so far! I had to laugh at your first picture, because I know there are a few of me where I have tried to hide behind my son, and ended up showing off my big butt instead! Oh well, this is my year, so pretty soon I'll be standing proud with my son, instead of hiding behind him…
  • I agree with this one! The chicken nuggets are fabulous! And so easy! When my son was around 2, I really tried to get him to eat more veggies (he loves fruit, so that was never an issue!) - it was a struggle at first, and he never really ate them, but I kept offering them to him, and now he loves sweet peppers, carrots,…
  • Me three! (Okay - I'm in Airdrie, but close enough, eh? :))
  • I love anything by Tosca Reno - Eat Clean Diet for Family & Kids, Eat Clean Diet Recharged, etc.. These are fabulous books that will take you right down to the basics and teach you about eating clean, wholesome, unrefined, unprocessed foods. And her cookbooks are awesome as well - great recipes that everyone will love!
  • Wow! You have done awesome! Good job! I plan on doing the same thing this year! :)
  • I'm going to have some leftover spaghetti & meatballs - made with W/W spaghetti, homemade turkey meatballs, and a nice low-cal, no sugar added pasta sauce :)
  • You just did! :)
  • Here's a thought - why don't you try adding a scoop of chocolate protein powder to your iced coffee? It would give you a sweet taste and a healthy dose of protein to boot! I often put protein powder in my coffee, and it's awesome - tastes like a mocha! Once summer hits I'll be making my coffee 'iced' instead of drinking it…
  • I get the odd migraine, and I take a prescription medication called Zomig - if I catch it quick enough - the headache is gone in 15-20 minutes. Great stuff! But it is really expensive - so if you don't have health benefits through work, you might want to try something else :P Last time I got them, they were about $15-20…
  • Not really a recipe, but if you put a handful of pomegranate seeds in with some greek yogurt, it is to die for! So good - and the natural sweetness of the seeds eliminates the need for any kind of sweetener! I also often mix in chia seeds and frozen berries in the morning, and by afternoon coffee, the berries are melted…
  • Ha ha! I feel the same way - even if they are creepy, it's nice to know your efforts are paying off! They wouldn't do it if they didn't think you were attractive, so that's always a good feeling! :)
