Marilyn your group leader probably doesn't realise you're eating to a diet plan where a big calorie defitic IS ALREADY BUILT IN to your daily allowance! sorry for shouting but.... ON MFP IT'S REALLY IMPORTANT TO EAT BACK YOUR EXERCISE CALORIES!!!! Rosey x

YES! They're = they are. Their = belonging to them. There = not here. Next week: Rocket Science

Hi Jacqui I've just passed my 1st MFP birthday!! Stick with it and it gets easier. Logging my food is now just second nature to me and sooo easy using the mobile apps (I have it on my android mobile and on my ipod touch lol!) I now use my diary to plan ahead, I've already got everything for today planned in to my…

There is soooo much info on here about why eating your exercise calories is important!! Links to the relevant threads are on here http://shouldieatmyexercisecalories.com/ (click the 'how about now?' link)

Great idea, I have a nice leek & potato soup recipe that I'll share when I get home, but replying now to bump!

I appear to be a bit of a freak in MFP terms, but I only get weighed once a month! It takes out the daily / weekly ups and downs of water retention, time of the month, 'bad' days, hangovers etc, and gives me a better idea of the overall job I'm doing. Works for me! Rosey x

Hi a friend of mine writes a veggie and vegan recipe blog, all the vegan recipes are tagged as such. http://beckaeatsveggie.blogspot.com/ Enjoy Rosey x

You're way under on carbs! Your lunch sounds yum but have a couple of slices of bread with it. Others suggestions for extra cals of nuts and dried fruit are all good, but also don't forget to treat yourself and maybe have a glass of wine and a bit of chocolate too!

*waves* hi from Leeds!

I started at 250, down to 172 so far :^) Don't be overwhelmed by the numbers, just take it a day at a time and remember there is no quick fix! The faster it comes off the easier it goes back on, so if you want to change for good, be prepared to be in it for the long haul. Good things come to those who wait, as they say!…

ooh I have the same question ---> bump!!

I'm just wearing mine on a different finger until I reach my goal weight, then I'll get it resized. It feels very odd though!
-
Thanks both I guess it may well suit me. Due to our working patterns / childcare I'd only be able to go to a gym in town for an hour at a time which would only give me time to use machines anyway and I wouldn't take advantage of 'extras' like sauna/pool. I'd only be able to take advantage of that kind of thing on a weekend…

Absolutely stop weighing yourself every day! I'm probably at an extreme for someone on here but I only get weighed once a month, by a nurse at my local health centre. No scales in our house, other than the kitchen, of course :^D Rosey x

mmm sounds lovely! Bumpety bump!
-
Ooh great thank you! Although I must say I'm sure I looked much bigger than that at my 'start' weight! Rosey x

Log your breastfeeding as a food entry (Search for 'breastfeeding mom' in the database) It will give you an extra 500 cals a day (plus extra fat, carbs & protein allowance) and while your baby is feeding full time you need them! Seems like a lot but trust me I've lost plenty while still allowing for BF'ing! Don't forget to…

Hey Mel Feel free to add me and nosey at my diary! I find others' diaries a great inspiration, especially for lunchtime ideas at work Rosey x
-
I'd like to know too!
-
That sounds lovely, sounds like a great idea for something to bring into work for lunch with some ryvita. Thanks for posting Rosey xx

Hi Jayne I get weighed once a month by the nurse at my local GP surgery, and I'd really recommend it, it's been a massive motivation! I just had a chat with her when I took Jakey in for his 3 month jabs and said I'd like some help losing weight and she's been a great support. Knowing I've got someone else looking at the…

Nothing really specific to be honest, my 'before' diet was so appalling, I hadn't realised how much my portion sizes had got out of control, and I'd always finish off Rose's leftovers.... I guess the big thing for me has been being really honest with myself and logging literally every bite I eat - which is why if you look…

Welcome back Jayne xx  We're all here for you, feel free to message me (on here or FB) if you feel a wobble coming on in the evenings - my Steve works on an evening so I know that temptation to pick at the kids stash of sweet things once they're in bed and I'm on my own!! We can help each other stay away from the…

Brilliant!

Good work! Well done! R xx

I know what you mean! I still have plenty of padding around my bum and tum, yet I need my engagement ring adjusting!!
-
I love looking at other people's diaries for meal ideas so it'd be rude not to share my own!
-
I have thrown away our scales (they were pretty unreliable anyway!) and get weighed at my doctors surgery once a month. I'll do my measurements on the same day too.
-
I've lost an Irish Setter!! :^D

Soups! They've been my lifesavers on some days and often mean I can afford some kind of treat. It's so easy to make your own too so you know exactly what's gone into them, usually really low cal and really filling. Easy to take to work as a quick lunch, eat with a couple of ryvita on the side and you're sorted! This is one…
