On days when I don't want to run, I tell myself to get out and do a mile out and if I still don't feel like running then I can turn around and head back. The brush your teeth idea is a great one. I have to force myself to not eat. I will sometimes just start chewing gum like crazy so at least I have something going on.

I don't think it will hurt you for a long run once in awhile to break it up, but if you have to do it for all your long runs you won't get the benefit of being out on your feet running for the entire time. Good Luck!

Since I am currently on the disabled list, I am not sure what my mileage goal will be for the year, probably 1500 Miles and at least 1 15K, 2 Half marathons, 1 full marathon and some other fun races that I enjoy running that happen here in Jacksonville.

There are a lot of training plans available online. Look for Hal Higdon, he has some good ones. Find a plan that feels comfortable to you and just follow it.
