  • I would stick w/ wine and light beer... you can drink enough to get a buzz and keep your calories in check. The high calorie mixers will get you too... so you may want to stick to diet or strait-up.
  • I can definately sympthize w/ your situation. A little over a month ago I was doing a training run for my half marathon and a bit over halfway through... something popped in my hip and I could barely walk for a week. Now over a month later I've been in physical therapy for 3 weeks now and I still can't run plus I found out…
  • Veggies and hummus are a great snack, just make sure you keep a single portion of hummus as some brands are a bit high in calories. To help w/ my snack cravings at work, I try to split up my lunch so it's a bit like a snack, but the same amount of calories. Ex... I'll bring a frozen meal and a salad for lunch... I'll eat…
  • So, I've met and maintianed my goal weight and now my husband and I have gone into TTC mode.... I have a son already who is turning 2 in 2 weeks and I can't believe I'm crazy enough to do this AGAIN! So I have a question that I'm pretty sure I know what the answer will be and I'm asking to not be judged harshly. I'm not…
  • I was a smoker for 16 years (started when I was 14) and alternated between a heavy smoker, social smoker, light smoker and non-smoker. I quit 6 mos before my wedding on Chantix...I quit cold turkey the day I found out I was pregnant and had no issue with being smoke free for a year... would always let myself be pulled back…
  • It's silly, but when I do my long runs training for my half I start chanting when I get tired..." I feel powerful, I feel strong, I look lovely, can't be wrong"... Stupid, but it kinda works
  • I'd like to hear some suggestions also... I did something to my hip running so I walk w/ a limp. No running ( or anything that causes discomfort which is everything) for at least 2 weeks and it's driving me crazy! I'm so hungry but can't burn calories.
  • I lost around the same amount of weight you did and got some of the same comments. I think part of it is that ppl do have a hard time adjusting to such a drastic difference. Also, ppl hate when someone makes them aware of the calories they're eating... even if it's not intended. I feel like after a bit, everyone gets used…
  • I joined MFP in August '10 and have since lost over 60lbs. My original goal was 50, but I was able to lose more than I thought I would. I've been maintaining for about 4 months now and have shifted my concentration to working out harder and longer from monitoring calories. I have gained a few back, but I'm still 10 lbs…
  • Runner's World actually said if you drink a frozen beverage, like a smoothie, about a half an hour before a run, your core temp stays lower and you don't overheat as fast. Also, the morning is definately cooler than evening.
  • Repitition! I joined the Army without being able to do a single pushup... after 9 weeks, I could do 30 full push-ups in 2 minutes (not that great but better than 0). Basically, everyday you have to try, start on your knees and go to muscle failure daily... also, bench press or chest press machines help. Takes a while to…
  • Cheesecake!!!
  • Thanks everyone for your support! hoping to get through this slump and keep myself from doing the yo yo thing.
  • I guess looking for a workout partner on here is possible, definately feel sort of strange about it... Anyone live in the Worthington/ Polaris Area in Columbus that needs a running/ work- out buddy and motivator? Even though I've been slacking, I'm still either running or doing Insanity a minimum of 5 days a week, so I'm…
  • Starting to train for a PR half in July. Can I be a One-derful?
  • I didn't notice too much sorenes on the recovery week... the second month of Max interval, however, is quite a different story. I've made it through the first week but I'm still sore on a daily basis. Most likely the soreness will go away before the end of the week once ur body gets used to it. I think it's partially…
  • I could be wrong... but I believe excersize should still be logged and added into your calories if it's done for excersize sake. Like, if you walk alot at work or clean, I would only log that activity if you put yourself as sedentary lifestyle BUT if you logged yourself as having an active job, you will double count the…
  • You're story sounds similiar to mine... I started @ 201 lbs (I'm only 5'5") in August 2010 and I'm now down to 135. This website is great and as long as you log your stuff accurately and up your excersize, it works! I started by just walking 3 or 4 days a week but just kept close track of my calories. I gained about 50 lbs…
  • I run ugly I run to feel powerful I run for the endorphines
  • Always making sure that there are no walls, corners or especially hard objects around when I take an item away (usually my phone or the remote) so there's PLENTY of safe tantrum room. But it's worth it to get the huggies and smiles every other time...
  • Well... there are pluses and minuses to outdoor running but if you are planning on ever doing a race outdoors, you may want to try it a few times. My favorite thing about running outside is being able to let my mind wander and look at what's going on around me. Now this is much better/ easier if you're running on a path in…
  • Thanks everyone for your imput! I think stretching the program out to 3 or 4 days a week and keeping the running up a couple days a week.
  • I usually go for about 6oz plain greek yogurt (Fage is my favorite but it has to be on sale) mixed with fruit (usually berries and/ or pineapple, about a half cup of each) and a vita muffin, half wheat bagel w/ light cream cheese or a fiber plus bar. Sometimes I mix up cominations of those things and add a hardboiled egg…
  • Yeah, I'm trying the Allen Car book "The Easy Way to Stop Smoking". Taking me a while to get through it (b/c you don't quit until the END) but I'll let you know what happens.
  • I'd like to join this but more for weight maintence support and reduced measurements. I've hit my weight goal but it would be nice if my body parts were back where they belong so it seems strength training (which I loathe) is in the future for me. Plus, I tend to slack off when I am at a decent weight, so I would love some…
  • QUOTE: bump "I will accept these as payment for baby-sitting.... " It's cool, I'll bring some to your 30th b-day bar crawl!
