  • Hi guys, nice to see more NI people about :-) Feel fee to add me if you like, would be great to make some new friends :-)
  • Head up to botanic avenue and try Maggie mays. They do a great ulster fry. Clements by the city hall does great coffee and bagels. Made in Belfast down the site street beside Clements is also nice for breakfast.
  • Actually, i found the jogging game on it quite good, gave me a little target to get myself into it. It's just running on the spot, but i built up a sweat :) good place to start i think! :)

  • Well, the eating thing is do-able, you just have to get organised. I work crazy shifts at all times of the day and night and the only thing that keeps me on track is having a nice selection of plastic boxes full of calorie counted food ready to go. You're the only person that can help you here hun, take it from one who…
  • Hi everyone! Another Belfast broad here, great to see loads of locals on here! I just started a new strength training program today to work on increasing my muscles and upping my metabolic rate strong while losing! Basically so I don't have to live on a calorie deficit my whole life!!! Feel free to add me!
  • I did my first set today! Stage 1 A1! I feel so great! I can't wait to get stuck into B1 :D
  • Not to simplify things, but actually, exercise is the best thing that you can do when you're feeling like this. There are days when I just feel like sitting down with a gigantic bag of crisps/chips and eating them all and hang the consequences because "hell, I'm never going to get to where I want to be, I've destroyed my…
  • "they're kissing again" Love it!
  • It is to do with the reduced fat in your diet. You need them for this kind of thing. Fats may be calorific, but they aren't all bad. Try to find a way to include healthy fats into your daily calorie allowance for a month and see if you feel a difference.
  • I'm inclined to agree with this, do you still have the measurements that you sent them? Get the tape measure out and see if there's an error with the dress, cause 3 inches shy of doing up sounds like a hell of a lot! If it's their fault then you'd be entitled to a rush replacement!
  • Oh yeah that's just up the road from me! I have a while to go till I'm able to make 5km in one go still, but I definitely think I would like to try one of those one day! :D Let me know what your time is! I'm still just about making 4km in 30 minutes before I want to fall down and expire :D
  • Hi Claire! I'm from Belfast. Yeah I tried to get into couch to 5 k and then realised it was too hard to do on the treadmill, I just flap on the treadmill a bit now until I need to fall down :D Would love to eventually be able to run for a full 5k though!! Where is the one you're thinking of doing?
  • I think it's nicer than peanut butter! Just eat it the same way I eat peanut butter. Also works great in stir fries :)
  • I tend to just chill out during that time. Ibuprofen for the pain and relaxing with plenty of water when I need to. I've recently started running though which does give me a nice endorphin hit when i'm feeling cruddy.
  • Well done for taking the first steps! Trust me, I have fought your fight, into my last couple of 10's of pounds and fighting all the way. If you want some encouragement from someone who has been there feel free to add me!
  • Do you have a medical issue that has made you give up the caffeine? I decided when I started out that there would be no denial this time round, everything would be available to me, I just had to be brutally honest with the portion sizes - weigh and measure every morsel - and write it all down on my food diary. As long as I…
  • Oh, so you are, didn't look at your ticker there :) Well, shy of looking at your nutrients and making sure that you're getting your fill of carbohydrates and keeping the old liver burning away I would say try the doctors. You might just be getting used to a smaller fat layer of insulation though. Hope you get it sorted :)
  • Make sure you're eating enough. I had this while I was eating a 500 calorie deficit. Wasn't enough for my body to function properly to keep me warm. Up your calories if you can to half a pound a week loss and see how you do!
  • Swim in the sea for the first time ever! Try to lose 2 pounds in spite of a holiday and some dinners out for birthdays this month. Start doing Yoga on the Wii Fit
  • Oh your muscles are retaining water like crazy! Don't worry about it! I'm about 6 days off finishing the shred and I know for a fact that my muscles are firmer and more toned than they've ever been, but in order for that to happen they have to hold on to water and get time to repair properly. From wikipedia: Improvements…
  • I like to sit in the sauna after a swim and when I'm nice and warm do some stretches - as long as I'm not in anyones way!! It makes the stretches feel more effective to me (whether it actually is or not, I'm not sure). Personally, my muscles always feel lovely and relaxed after I stretch when they're nice and warm and…
  • Well with those numbers your BMI is 17.9 which is in the underweight category. I suggest upping your calories and planning your meals out a little more rigidly. Including the calories that you intend to burn exercising and timing it around those exercises! You're too small! Eat! and Enjoy it!
  • This looks like just the kind of thing I need! Thank you!!
  • I use my polar FT4 in the pool. Works great!
  • THANK YOU!!! I've been trying to find this information out for ages!! Had to take a few days off after going 12 days straight then 4 days straight! Was just totally wiped out. I know it's doing me good, but now I know that the rest days are there to help me when used in conjunction. Again, thank you very much!
  • Makes you want to *be* peanut butter.... Or a spoon...
  • *bump* I've often wondered this too
  • Northern Irish here too! Hello!
