Sorry you're having a hard time, I remember what it was like back at the start. You have to stop beating yourself up so much and just make some small changes. Can I suggest you go to a small calorie deficit to start off - maybe whatever MFP tells you for a half pound loss a week. When I first started I was on 1800 calories…

Interesting that you've experienced this, I never really cut anything out entirely from my diet - just portion control really. So I can't say it has happened to me. Apart from Full Fat Coke. It does taste very sweet! Coke Zero is more to my taste these days :)

*holds up hand* Hello! I also am an "unhealthy" eater. I do try to be healthier it's true, but it's hard to beat bacon, sausage and egg for breakfast of a weekend, especially when it's made for you by your other half! If I couldn't have takeaway food every again I would have failed *months* ago. Everything in moderation…

Sadly I had to withdraw from a lot of people over the last year to ensure my weight loss, over that time I have lost contact with a lot of people who I thought were my friends. Turns out I was just someone to go to the pub and drink with. It's a little isolating and depressing I'll be honest, but my boyfriend is my best…

"Stop picking at it, you'll make it drop off "

I live in Northern Ireland, and I used a trip to Australia as a motivator/reward. I was "only" about 28lbs down by then, but I felt amazing and I had the best time :D

I usually make it up as I go along, unless I know that there's going to be a fancy schmancy dinner that night that I can allow for to see how much I have available to me the rest of the day... OR if I know what's on the menu that night I'll add it in. Tend not to plan too far in advance as I like to make my mind up on the…

^^ This!! I totally agree with everything you've just said. I know that I should't weigh every day, I know that TOM will cause me issues, but I look forward to when he's gone cause I know that I'll have lost a fair bit the following week. Don't let the beggers grind you down! :D

Monday here too, keeps me from going mental over the weekend

5ft 9, aiming for 150, see how it goes when I get there. Mostly I picked it cause it was half what I was when I started. :)

Are you drinking enough water? Dehydration is a major factor in headaches!

Hello hello hello!! Good luck with the road ahead! :D

I know that my learning to swim is making me feel happier than ever! I have enjoyed the compliments and the fitting into nicer clothes absolutely , but the actual accomplishment of learning something that I know for a *fact* I would never have done at 21 stone 9 pounds (303lbs) makes me happier than I can possibly…

Yeah booze was a big factor for me in my weight gain - bacardi and coke and red wine every friday night. Plus, dearly beloved started me onto the pleasures of real ale too. Delish, but omg the calories! I have kind of imposed a strict "special occasions and holidays only" rule to myself until I reach goal/maintenance. I…

You haven't messed up, you made a decision based on the options in front of you. It wasn't a big greasy burger and fries ! You dun good :) Now enjoy the rest of your day!

Hello! UK here! Northern Ireland specifically :) I've got about 2 stone to go to target so feel free to add me if you like :)

about 3 months, I have 150 to lose in total....

I only plan ahead if I know there's going to be a big meal in a day. Like if I'm going out to dinner to have drinkies and dessert, I will allocate breakfast and lunch accordingly and make sure that I at least try to make up for it with exercise or cutting back for a few days afterwards. Intuitive eating is the goal really.…

Ok, I can't see your profile so I'm not sure what you've set your weekly loss to but here's what the current set up says: you have set your daily goal of intake as 2630 calories. you've eaten 1846 calories today. you've exercised 1518 calories worth of more food that you could eat if you choose to. your net is the total…

I know exactly what you mean! I work crazy shifts all over the place and there is nothing quite like sleep deprivation to make you want to eat the world! As they say in all the most irritating success books, Perfect Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance. I have to make sure I have my calories in a box with me to much…

I wish I'd known how easy the actual calories in < calories out actually is. I'd over analysed it for so long. As soon as I knew the sums that make the body work it all just clicked into place! Poor, poor teenage and 20 year old me, just had to wait for 30 year old me to get it together

Hi there! It's about 250 ml in a glass of water. What I do is keep a pint glass of water near me at all times - I count it as 2 glasses (it's ever so slightly more than 2 glasses). Drink it 4 times and you're laughing

Wow from a 34! That's amazing! Congratulations!!

*Chuckles* Hello! Another UK peep here :)

Hello! Yup, I'm 5 feet 9 inches tall and I have no idea what my ideal weight would be as I've always been overweight. If I was being totally honest, I feel better now at 190 than I ever have, ever, so if I *had* to stop now, I would be ok. I'm shooting for at least 168lbs - out of the "overweight" category in the BMI…

I tried every possible organised diet that I could possibly throw money at to try to lose weight (bit like a cult church really, if I go every week and pay my dues maybe the WW/SW/diet gods will make my *kitten* melt off!) but sadly I never learned the basics of how my body works and how the calorie deficit will help. All…

Couldn't agree more, I was on 1200 a day for the longest time to try to lose 2 lbs a week and I got to a stage where to lose 2lbs was going to be less than 1200, so i upped it to 1lb a week. I'm still losing, I'm not hungry and my exercise calories seem to be more effective as I don't need to eat them! (also, make sure you…

Agreed, weighing daily is only helpful if it keeps you on track (I have a bit of a scale addiction myself, I'm ok with it, but some days I could quite happily throw it out the window!) If you fluctuate that much it might do you better to weigh in either weekly or fortnightly, then you're seeing a more reasonable number at…

Peppermint tea always helps me. I suffered with this terribly when I was younger, but increasing my water intake and the peppermint has really helped!

I always used to get these when I hadn't had enough salt (weirdly)
