thanks for the info, much appreciated. I'm not sure I trust the addition calories the site gives me for working out. I think I need to get something that will calculate it for me as I do it.
-
Oh that seems so scary lol I have about 737 calories left for today and I see that if I eat them all, I'll have a net of 1200, so I guess that's what I'm aiming for. It's so hard to get my head around this eating more thing.
-
ok thanks Ruby. So if net =200, I should eat another 200 or do I need to eat another 1000 to bring it up to 1200?
-
Don't worry, I ate a gaint cookie triple fudge cookie from the coffee guy this mornig, still under my cals, but I've been thinking about that stupid cookie all day long. I think sometimes we are just to hard on ourselves. And that cookie was 305 caloires :grumble:

I agree

I actaully think 3pounds in 3 weeks is fine. I have always been told a healthy loss of 500grms per week is realistic and the best way to lose and keep it off, if thats correct then you're bang on. I aim for 500gm a week anymore is a bonus for me

I just replaced 3 pairs of jeans, I too was reluctant, just going to out to try on new jeans was scary. But I'm so glad I did, people kept telling me "you need to go buy new jeans" my old ones were literally falling off as I walked So I'd say yes, buy a couple of outfits you feel good in

One of the trainers at my gym told us recently that after excerise we will experience "after burn". He said if we have a healthy dinner our bodies will burn calories while we sleep. Don't know if that's true, but I liked the sound of it

Tuna and crackers Fresh tomato and crackers maybe you could have chicken and salad if you have a little chilly bin
-
I wish I had known how hard it would be, I have found that working out is lots of work with tiny gradual results.......it is worth it, but it's slow.
-
If I could get some good ones believe me I'd take them. The best ones I ever had have been here in NZ, I know they're not good for you and I know you're likely to put the weight back on, but I totally admit I love a quick fix. Alas, I haven't found any worth taking for a long time
-
Wow that's just nasty, why would you sit there and laugh at someone who is asking for help. Seems the op is new and perhaps she isn't estimating her burn correctly, doesn't mean she's lying to herself, it means she's learning and asking for advice.
-
Oh that's interesting, I had no idea the MFP thingie was inaccurate, that is where you put in your weight, height etc and it estimates how many calories a day your body is burning? Does that mean the number of calories it estimates you can consume would also be incorrect?

I used to think you could never be too skinny, but now I'm in my 40's I really feel women over a certain age just don't look good really skinny. In general, I think as long as one is healthy and happy with how they look and feel other people have no right to comment.

Maybe under some kind of strength training, bit of a tricky one really

Right so the fact that weight is dropping off now that I'm off AD's is all in my head right! Respectfully I disagree with you, I whole heartly believe that AD's have inhibited my weight loss, I know hand on heart I have consistently worked extremely hard, both working out and diet and losing weight since starting on these…

I generally only notice if they eating something I can't have:sad:

You're so right, I was told of a few side effects but weight gain was never mentioned. I will never again accepts meds without doing some research before starting them and looking at the best options.
-
To be honest, for me, if I hadn't been on these meds I do't know where I'd be today, they changed my life and I needed them. I just wish I'd been aware of the side effects.

also, muscle does not weigh more than fat. 5 pounds of fat = 5 pounds of muscle. they are both 5 pounds. [/quote] it may not weigh more, I agree, but there is big difference in the density, 5 pounds of fat is a lot bigger than 5 pounds of muscle

Oh I do love that one can ask any questions on these boards, people here are always lovely and helpful :)

I'm a Kiwi, close enough?

Even my doctor said she weighs everyday. It can become obsessive, but I find when I stop weighing myself I put on weight because I'm not tracking it and it sort of becomes 'out of site out of mine'. So I'm not sure weighing daily is such a bad thing really

Sorry I read back and see you are working out. Re the processed stuff, I live in New Zealand, so a lot of that stuff is unknown to me, but like Jema, I generally have all fresh stuff. Like steamed green beans, broccoli, cauliflower etc. BTW, my trainer told me last wee that when you exercise in the evening you should have…
-
I'm no expert, but it looks good to me, your restricting carbs in the evening, which I think is a good thing. Are you working out at all? My lastest tactic is to not eat the calories I earn working out, I used to work out and eat the extra calories, but I've decided not to do that and see how I go.
-
Hey nuttinikki, I'm just thinking that seems like quite a lot of carbs. Also light foods or low fat foods tend to compensate with carbs. Perhaps you need to add a little more protein? For me personally, I know I need to cut way back on carbs in order to get results, but not everyone is the same

Hi there, I have found that with exercise and diet the effort is huge and the results on the scales are minimal, esp in the beginning. I found people saying to me "wow you've lost weight" yet the loss on the scales was only a couple of kg's in a 3 month period and I work out 4-5 times a week. I’ve given up trying to…

I think I could kiss you right now lol
