  • I'm currently doing core de force. Day 12 today. I am loving it! It's fun and seems to go by quick. I was definitely sore after the first few workouts but that is easing up a bit now.
  • My major goals for this year are related to my running. I want to run a total of 500 miles in 2014 and run my first half marathon!
  • 12/1- 5 miles 12/3- 3 miles 12/7- 3.1 miles 12/8- 2.1 miles 12/12- 2 miles 12/15- 2.1 miles 12/16- 5 miles 22.3 done, 7.7 left to go! I may hit my goal sooner than I thought. Might have to add some miles to my goal :)
  • 12/1- 5 miles 12/3- 3 miles 12/7- 3.1 miles (ran a 5k and it was -2 degrees...so cold!!!) 12/8- 2.1 miles 12/12- 2 miles 12/15- 2.1 miles 17.3 done, 12.7 left to go!
  • 12/1- 5 miles 12/3- 3 miles 12/7- 3.1 miles (ran a 5k and it was -2 degrees...so cold!!!) 12/8- 2.1 miles 13.2 down, 16.8 to go!
  • The treadmills at my gym do usually pick up the heart rate from my heart rate monitor without me needing to hold the sensors. I use the calories burned from my HRM though because, like you said, it has all your information programmed in. I usually don't even bother to enter any information into the treadmill since I have…
  • 12/1- 5 miles 12/3- 3 miles 8 down...22 to go!
  • That's awesome!!! Great job!
  • I'm in! I'm shooting for 30 in December. I'm sure that sounds low but I don't count the miles I run in my bootcamp class M/W/F. Only miles I count are when I go out for a run! 12/1- 5 miles
  • I'm not necessarily "fit" but I am definitely fitter than when I started a few months ago! I do bootcamp M/W/F and run T/Th/Su. I will probably cut back on the running and add in some strength training within the next couple weeks.
  • I just sent you a request on there. Same username as here :)
  • Everyone else has some good tips. I just want to add, don't start off too fast! Sometimes at the beginning, the adrenaline gets the best of you and you start off at a faster pace that may not be sustainable and end up burning out. I've done a few races and still struggle with this! If I start off at my normal pace, I can…
  • I get up at 4:15 to workout at 5 and then I work from 6:45-5:00pm. I've been doing this for 12 weeks now. When I first started, I was honestly in bed by about 7:00 every night, just because I was exhausted! It took about 6 weeks for me to adjust and now I'm typically in bed around 8:45-9:00. Getting up early still isn't…
  • I actually have a pan of this in my fridge right now...just had some for lunch! It's yummy!! The kids love it as well :)
  • I do. We usually spend the last 10 minutes of class cooling down and stretching.
  • Congratulations on running your first 5k!! Regardless of the time, you did it, so enjoy that accomplishment and don't get discouraged! Running is a whole different animal compared to other cardio. It definitely helps to have a decent cardio base, but starting to run can definitely be a challenge. I'm not an expert by any…
  • I'm the Maid of Honor in my brothers wedding that is going to be in March 2014. It's good motivation to stick with my workout program right now!
  • I do an hour long bootcamp class M/W/F and then run T/Th and either Saturday or Sunday.
  • High weight was 247. Currently at 192. Still have a long way to go, but I'll get there!
  • So, just a quick update. I finished my 4 weeks of bootcamp without missing any classes. My last day was last Friday. In 4 weeks, I lost 6.5 lbs and a total of 10 inches. I went from barely being able to do pushups from my knees to being able to do 5 "real" pushups and several more from my knees. I can see changes in my…
  • I know you posted this awhile ago but I'm just now seeing it! I do bootcamp M/W/F and it's different every time. That's something I both love and hate about it! You never know what to expect. Some days are more cardio heavy (Friday was basically sprints. Lots and lots of sprints. Take a break, do some pushups/squats/etc…
  • I wake up at 4am to be at bootcamp by 5am. Some days it's a major struggle to get out of bed, but it's nice to have the workout done and out of the way before really starting my day. :)
  • You can count me in!
  • This morning was a rough one. I think I must have hit snooze at least three times. It got to the point where if I didn't get out of bed immediately and get my butt out the door, I was going to be late for bootcamp. The thought of that had me rushing to the car since my instructor is not one to mess around and she doesn't…
  • I've got at least 50 to go. Any of you feel free to add me....Always nice to have others to help keep you motivated!
  • I ran a 5k on July 21st. Ran another one this morning. My time this morning was 6:32 faster than the one last month!!
  • I've never been a morning person and always preferred to do my workouts at night but this week I started a bootcamp class so now I wake up at 4:15 in order to get to class by 5. While I'm struggling with the whole waking up and not hitting snooze thing, I have to admit that I do like having my workout all done before I…
  • I'm in the north suburbs if you want to add me :)
  • I'm running a local 5k on August 24th. It will be my second 5k but first that I'll have an official time! My first was Color me Rad last month. I'm also flying to Denver to do the Foam Fest 5k with a friend on September 21st.
  • I'm not a super runner or anything (although I'm working on getting there!) but my advice would be to slow down. Build up your endurance and the speed will come! When I first started out, I was averaging around 13-13:30 min/mile. As my endurance has built a bit, my pace is speeding up.
