if multivitamins upset your stomach, try children's chewable - read the label - the one I take - generic brand - lists RDA for adults also. I also take 20 mg lutein, for retina health, and calcium (500 mg?) .

I make bread dressing 1/2 to 1 loaf of bread, torn into small chunks - can use white or wheat minced onion (1/4-1/2 an onion, depending on how much bread) minced celery - 1-2 stalks chicken broth (can used store bought or homemade, if roasting turkey, use the cooking juices) enouigh to moisten bread - want consistency to…

I did a 5 day canoe trip with scout unit a little over a year ago - didn't lose any weight (high carb backpack food), but boy - what a difference in the arms in that short time.

Don't know if this the kind of thing you're looking for, but when my daughter was an infant, she was diagnosed as "failure to thrive". She was 8 months old & only weighed 11 pounds (was 6 lbs 12 oz. at birth). She simply wouldn't eat very much. We were given a list of things to try to boost calories without adding very…

Go online & find sweet potato jalapeno soup - sounds odd, but is WONDERFUL!!!! You want the recipe from Heritage Homestead. It uses turkey bacon, sweet potatoes, jalapeno, cilantro, can sub low fat milk for half & half. YUMMMMM!

Cats: Maxwell Brian, Tigger (pronounced Teeger) Marie, and Nero Alexander. dog: Abigail Collen (Abbey for short), and snake: Rose. Snake is the only one without a middle name becasue she never gets into trouble.

Your tag says you joined in May - just last month, AND your profile sys you've lost 4 pounds. That's not nothing! Hang in there. Previous response suggested seeing physician - good idea. Hang in there; it takes time. Plateaus are common, but you will succeed in time.

Dance - specifically clogging, for me. Used to swim at local Y during lunch hour - you don't sweat when you swim! Unfortunately, Y closed. I also count working in yard - my flowerbeds always need more attention. It's work, gets hot outside(Texas) very quickly this time of year, but the "reward" greets me every time I pull…

Welcome to mfp! Try dancing - your wife may really like it too - find a rec center or studio that offers a variety of styles - ballroom, salsa, etc. - any style that doesn't make you jump much is not hard on knees. I know I keep advocting dance - but if it's fun, it doesn't feel like "exercise". Can significantly burn the…

My daughter is hypoglycemic. Instead of candy, she uses Glucerna shakes (come in a can or bottle from grocery store), granola bars that also have some protein or homemade energy bars - found recipe on backpackfoods.com. Prevention (small, healthy snacks) so as to not "crash" is really important.

The answer to both questions - yes. Could be muscles. Could also be you're not eating enough (eat back at least the majority of your exercise calories). Could also be a natural plateau - we all have them, & then in a week or two, a couple of pounds are suddenly gone - I recently stayed at the same weight for almost a month…

i know what you mean. I told a co-worker (the one who told me about mfp) I had discovered a new clothing shop, i call it "My Closet". It's amazing - it's stocked with colors I like, and somehow items fit me that are smaller sizes than I was able to fit in just a few months ago.

3 stones = 42 pounds. At a pound a week (recommended) it would take approx. 42 weeks to lose. Don't have calendar in front of me, but August is approx. 11 weeks from now. The math doesn't support losing that much that quickly. BUT you CAN lose about 25% of your goal & that's not bad. It WILL be noticeable, and you will be…

Your doctor is the one you need to be asking for specifics. But odds are there will be activitIes you can do - depending on the severity of the diagnosis. I have a slipped disc - have lived with it for 10 years. I can't do sit-ups or bend forward from the waist. If I clean up the yard or pick up things off the floor, I…

How many mg. are you talking about? My husband is on a low sodium diet (2 grams or 2000 mg/day) & since I don't want to cook separate meals for us, I eat the same things. I usually am under 2000 (mfp gives me up to 2500). Frequently I'm at about 1500 in a day. Read labels - you'd be surprised how much sodium is in anything…

When my daughter was little, she was diagnosed as failure to thrive - she was TINY. We kept a food diary & the doctors gave us ways to boost calories without adding bulk - eat cream of (fill in the blank) soups instead of broth based soups. Stir sour cream or cheese into dishes. Keep quick snacks on hand - dried fruit,…

Junk food - don't buy it. I know that sounds super simplistic, but if it's not in your house, you're not going to eat it. Exercise - find something you love to do & then you won't think of it as exercise - I take 2 clogging classes a week - about 4 hours (we don't dance the entire time need to talk, work out choreography,…

These may not be low calorie, but you can control the size + very dense & pack well, 1 cup peanut butter 3/4 cup loats (instant oatmeal) 1/2 cup (diced) each: dried apricots, dates, cashews, raisins, dried plums (prunes), dried cherries, dried blueberries, etc. - as many or few as you like. If you use a lot, may cut back…

I have a 2 hour clogging (dance) class on Sunday afternoons.
