Pick the white rice over fried rice. I would stay away from dishes where the meat is battered, fried and then smothered in a sweet sauce. Dishes heavy on the veggies are good. It all has too much salt so drink lots of water.

The three day thing makes you loose a lot of water. It's ok if you are getting ready for a photo shoot or want to look a bit better for a wedding or something, but don't expect the weight to stay off. If you want to get slim and stay that way, you have to make lifestyle changes.

Soup has to be the easiest thing in the world to make. If you start with a stock that is low or no sodium no fat, you can add veggies until the cows come home. Re-gift the restaurant card this Christmas and use the money you would have spent on them to buy clothes. I commiserate with you. I had a total fashion crisis over the weekend because all of my dress pants were puffy at the hips and looked stupid.

You get the jitters. You might not be able to sleep. That's all I can think of. Coffee isn't a substitute for water because of the caffeine. Be warned, my husband repped coffee for years so I'm a little biased.

You have to act like the ice cream and baked goods don't exist or limit yourself to hitting the soft serve on Friday nights or something. Also, if I exercise before a meal, I find that it greatly curbs my appetite.
