My Grandpa used to buy this really cheep dog food for his dog. When I was a kid, my cousins and I would eat it because it tasted like stale corn bread. We got yelled at. "You guys stop eating the dog's food!!"

10-12 pounds in 8 weeks is healthy weight loss so don't despair. The closer you get to your goal, the slower it seems but you can do it. I would continue logging. It works.

The only reason I exercise is so I CAN eat. (ok, that's not the only reason.)

Make sure you poop, trim and clean out from under your fingernails, get the toe jam out between your toes and remove any lint from your belly button. Then, and only then, step on the scale. LOL.

Tortilla soup is fairly low in calories, I think. The Mexican salad is ok if you do the following. DO NOT eat the fried shell. Use salsa instead of salad dressing. Maybe ask for grilled chicken on the salad if you can.

Never hurts to log conservatively. If the 5 pound loss sticks, then log it. No harm no foul.

I got really lucky. The village we live in subsidizes everyones gym memberships if they want to join the local club. Your body is adjusting, just keep doing what you know you need to do and don't give up. You may try a less intense workout for a couple of days.

This is a no fun time of year at the gym, I agree. In 6 weeks it will be back to normal or better anyway.
