a lot of us use the circuit training, general option. if you are using a heart rate monitor, you can input your own exercise term and put in the calorie burn that the HRM provides. :)

i'm using 5lbs. (2.2kg) for most things, but also have a set of 2lbs.(0.9kg) that i use for the slide lunge with the anterior raise... and bc i'm a crazy woman, i hold all of them for the chest fly. personally, i think the weight thing is 100% personalized: a) what can you handle; and b) what kind of results do you want?…

d4, l1 done ... started the day with yoga bc my back was feeling tight, got distracted with housework and finally getting shredded before bedtime. :)
-
Once again (per usual, I suppose) Shredding before bed... 100% determined to stay on pace this time around. Kudos to all for a job well done!

And done... And I noticed that someone is already done with day 3! Yea for our globally disbursed group! PS- long (unproductive) day at work, late dinner with the hubby, wasn't feeling up to it...he reminds me that doing my workout half assed is better than not doing it at all, and its only 20 minutes (in the end I'd say I…

hi there! best of luck to you as you work hard to slim down, i'm pretty sure that jillian will give you the results that you are looking for since none of the moves in the program are "girl specific" ... in terms of differences in results, i think we are all striving towards fewer inches on our bodies, so that is going to…

me after round 1, technical 20 days (since life got in the way of me completing the whole thing)

...and DONE! well almost, call me a stretching snob if you must, but i feel like the stretches that are in the video aren't quite enough, so a bit more stretching for me while i indulge in some BIG BANG THEORY nighty nighty 30ds-ers ... day 1, level 1 complete... you are well on your way to being shredded. :flowerforyou:

in the cardio section, there is an option for "circuit training, general" - a lot of us were using that last time around. i did see where folks who use heartrate monitors were creating their own catagory for this (and other) activity(ies) or using the generic term but noting that they had adjusted the calorie burn based on…

i'm kind of excited to see that there is another out there shooting for the "perfect" hourglass measurements! i'm 37 on top, so i'm shooting for 37-25-37 .... and since i started with 40+ on the bottom (more pearish) i've got a bit of work to do ... jillian will get us there though - keep your eyes on natalie bc as jillian…

weights... i am also using a set of 5lb-ers and found myself dropping them on a couple of the exercises throughout the entire series. i pretty much grew up with a slew of exercise videos to choose from (mom's collection, apple doesn't fall far though) ... anywho... one of the videos that she had talked about isometric…

i've done both ... there are a few moves that (for me anyway) when done on carpet result in slippage ... although that is fixed easily enough by doing the workout on a yoga mat instead of the bare floor (something i wish i would have thought of last time around...).

hi all, i'm cortney and this will mark round 2 of the 30DS for me. prior to doing 30DS, my workouts primarily consisted of running and stretching - and a certain level of annoyance that i wasn't seeing any results. yes, my cardio was improving and i was becoming a better runner - but there wasn't any improvement on the…

i was also going to suggest swimming or some other water based exercise program, so since that's already been said .... i would also suggest going to your doctor and seeing if you can't get a referral to a really good physical therapist who might be able to help you strengthen your body without causing injury or pain for…

5'8", 170ish, size 10 (for the most part) and one pair of old navy capris in a size 8. i aspire to a closet full of single digit sized clothing someday... given my hourglass-y shape, maybe i should just learn to sew and give up on finding pants that fit, bc they never do

i'm glad to hear that i'm not alone - mid-week, at work i will sit (bc i have to) and focus on the task in front of me and do my workout at night, but on the weekend, i am a sad, sad girl if i don't get in some kind of physical activity, preferrably for a couple of hours (yoga, running, hiking, a jillian michaels…

running vs. walking intervals: as someone who grew up with asthma, the intervals really helped me to train my lungs (and my brain) to believe that i could actually run without falling down dead. without a doubt, i looked forward to those walk breaks more than anything early on - staring at my watch, willing the seconds to…

i only weigh myself once a week and lean more on the fit of my jeans as a scale for how i am doing. those same hormonal imbalances that cause bloating also lead me to feel really bad about the numbers on the scale (and the tightness of the jeans) so i do my best to avoid anything that will "encourage" negative thinking on…

i did the couch-to-5k a while back and i really liked it. the intervals of running and walking help to ease you into a running program, which is great if you haven't run in a while (or ever). i recently downloaded micoach which is made by the adidas folks (free on android, not sure about iphone) - i love Love LOVE this…

depends on my mood - but i've been making use of internet radio stations as of late and for the most part i've been pretty pleased with the selection. my fix at the moment is songza and they actually have a cardio workout section listed!

@3dogsrunning - i totally have the same view for floorwork (except in silver)! i have a pretty regular partner for the downdog & up dog portions of my yoga workout (she also does a mean seated meditation pose, eyes closed & everything). naboo seems to think that the yoga mat is for her (a common misconception, i see) - i…

made this last night for the hubby and i for a valentine's dinner ... skipped the chickpeas because i couldn't find them in the market & hubby is anti- veggies/beans anyway ... DELISH!! thanks for sharing!!

you can add friends by clicking on their name, which brings you to their profile and from there you will see a button to add as friend or send a friend request. feel free to add me if you'd like. i had be soley using the mobile app for a while, so i was missing out on the whole community aspect. i am finding that joining…

in my previous comment i forgot to mention plateauing ... good, bad or otherwise, our bodies get used to a routine pretty quickly. so when it comes to calorie decreases or exercise we see results at the start of the change and then they taper off. at a previous job, we had an onsite gym & a trainer - he set up an evening…

my husband once lost about 20 lbs. due to the flu (this was an extreme situation that included hospitalization) - he ended up gaining the weight back, but then he wasn't trying to loose it in the first place (plus his loss LOOKED sickly). i would suspect if you continued to work towards your fitness & weight-loss goals…

you and i are in the same boat - 5' 8", hoovering between 172/168, and fairly active - i just did half-marathon #5 on sunday (although admittedly, i had never been consistent in my training until this last race). i have watched friends start up a diet & exercise program and drop 10-15lbs. just like that! as much as i am…

amy, she's a weimaraner - the weirdness of the pic is due the fact that she was lying on her back (a common position for weims it would seem) and so her lip curls back into the psycho-dog smile shown here. normally weims are a very regal looking breed - and great run-buddies *assuming that they don't trip you up with the…

hi georgina, yoga is a great form of exercise and i would anticipate (based on my own experience) that it could help you to find that balance that you are looking for (it does for me, anyway). personally, my yoga practice is mostly home based and follows the guidance of rodney yee or bob harper. also, as a fellow runner, i…
