  • Yes, eat back those exercise calories. Always net your minimum. Mine is 1200. I try to eat at least that much. If I want to eat more I will exercise more. Please think about exercise as something you're doing for your health rather than your weight. You can probably lose without exercising but your heart, bones, muscles,…
  • When I was 2lbs away from 200lbs, I decided I'd never be 200lbs. Pictures keep me motivated now. I want to look how I feel on the inside. There is a skinny girl in there somewhere!
  • Agreed. Talk to your doctor. I went for a year before I told my gyn about the side effects I was having. She switched the script and I am doing fine now. I'd try something else before you quit.
  • I used to think it wasn't a big deal and I still think a bad nutrition day isn't THAT bad but please choose another thing to splurge on. Have you heard the news about McDonald's and pink slime aka ammonia? It is disgusting and I never want to scarf down something that is only edible because ammonia is added to it. Yes they…
  • Haha so true. He may end up with a spare tire. He may end up looking much older than you. What you do in your 20s shows in your 30s etc etc so take care of yourself!
  • Very smart! I don't know why I forget this so often.
  • There was just a big discussion about the "type" to get. Do you know what kind you want? I have the polar ft7 and love it! It really helped me. I lost about 25lbs using it before I signed up here.
  • Use it as your motivation! One thing that helped me was I stopped splitting our meals evenly. I measure and weigh for me, I guesstimate for him ( he is thin) and he eats seconds or I put the rest in the fridge. Instead of a 50/50 split, it is more like I get 1/3 or 1/4 and I just remind myself that it is all I NEED. It is…
  • Bump... I want to know if there is an official answer to this
  • I'd put my money on #2 being lower as a direct result from perspiration and expiration ( is that right? The fluids you lose just from breathing?). I put my scale in a different room in my house just to stop myself from getting on it whenever I walk by it. Stupid scale can ruin my day some times! That is why it is banished…
  • I usually turn it off after my cool down. If I'm not actively trying to burn more calories I don't feel the need to keep counting them. I acknowledge the "after burn" and just consider them a bonus. I believe in cooling down and not sitting down right away. If I'm trying to challenge myself and burn a lot in a short amount…
  • I have muscle milk plus which is lower in carbs. I'm not actively trying to gain muscle right now so I don't use it much. I'm not too big in to meat so I will have some muscle milk when I feel like I'm not getting enough protein from other things. Quinoa and Greek yogurt pack a protein punch ;)
  • Right, I forgot about that flap. Mine looks like this: http://s.wiggle.co.uk/images/polar-wearlink-strap-med.jpg?w=350 But, for this person I'm worried about the tiny metal buckle on the wrist part. It seems like it is kinda heavy duty metal to me. I looked at mine and it doesn't say stainless steel at all. And the m to…
  • To the one asking about the strap size: Mine says it fits size medium through xxl. Half of it is stretchy. I find it is true to size as I currently wear a medium and it won't get much smaller than it is. I looked up the specs before I bought it and it did tell me how many inches it was on the polar website.
  • I have the FT7. I like it. It shows calories burned and stores the data. If I had a disposable income then I would buy a sensor that is compatible with Bluetooth so I could upload data instantly to a program on my phone. They make one by polar now. To the person wondering about the back, mine is a thick plastic. The buckle…
  • Not my favorite food by any means. I like hazelnut "flavored" things but that doesnt count. I will eat peanut butter and some times trail mix but I just feel like they make me choke too much or something.
  • I outweigh him by about 40 lbs. My healthy weight should be lower than his weight. If you had to ask which one of us is healthier, I would put my money on ME. He may be skinny but he doesn't eat as well as me and never works out. Thin isn't everything.
  • I aim for 60 minutes of exercise. It helps lower my a1c (keeping me further from diabetes) and keeps me at a lower risk for cardiovascular problems. I lowered my a1c from 5.7 to 5.2 by doing cardio, even light cardio, an hour a day. Any thing over 30 minutes is definitely not a waste in the long run.
  • I bring my own. I feel sick if I don't eat every 4 hours or so, so I will commonly bring some string cheese or an apple. If they ever say anything I will have to make the argument that they have no healthy options for me. I don't think they mind so much as long as I'm not bringing in a giant meal from McDonalds or…
