As far as the shoulder tendonitis goes, I have been struggling with this myself. I had two steroid shots in 6 months and the ortho said surgery is next for shoulder impingement. A gym mate recommended a place that did A.R.T. (Active Release Technique). I've been three times and they diagnosed the tendonitis. The ART is…

Can I just upload a picture of my spreadsheet? ;)

I slow-cook boneless chicken on Sunday, microwave a couple of sweet potatos and a bag of steamed brocolli flourettes. I eat that three times a week packed in tupperware for lunch at work. Chicken: 3.5 ounces, SP: 1/2 cup Brocolli: 1 cup. Only 228 calories, 25g carbs 4g fat and 35g protein. I love it.

Thank you for your input! OHPs and Side Raises are painful. RC exercises help some. Xrays (left shoulder) indicate a slight downward turn in the acromion but no bone spurs - if I am translating the ortho's technical explanation correctly. Muscles do seem tight. If I hold my arm out and keep my forearm parallel with the…

This article has appeared on the Message Boards and appears to be well accepted. I've been wrestling with what to do next. Like you, so far my goals have always been to lose weight (54 pounds in 3 years). Although I've been in the gym a while now, my stamina has steadily decreased because my workouts have demanded more…

Thanks for opening your diary. And good for you for tracking accurately. Concentrate on being consistent... Try to eat as many whole foods as possible thus reducing processed foods (which should also help reduce your Fat #'s). Try to meet the protein goal. It will help tremendously. It's hard I know (I feel like I'm always…

I see you have two wl goals listed on your profile page for 12/31 and 1/31. Did you reach them? Also noticed your food diary is not open to the public. I would think that it would be good - especially in a group like this - to see what your daily food choices are.

I have shoulder impingement in my left shoulder. Your pain is exactly what I have experienced. OHP's and Lateral Raises. I would definitely get it checked out. If it is aggravated and inflammed, not likely it will just go away by lifting lighter IMHO. Good luck.

Awesome! Thanks!

Thanks for this. I just wish MFP would adjust cause all we have here is percentages in 5% increments. I always have to go outside MFP to calculate and then come as close as I can with the MFP goals page so that my macros are staring at me from the Food Diary. Ugh.

I'm a relative lightweight for lifting but I just started raising my calories and started the Power Muscle Burn 4-day split. I've done some alternate lifts but it still works for me. I like the pace of 3-5 reps/heavy wgt (Power), 6-12 reps (Muscle) and 1-2 40 rep sets (Burn). It keeps me interested.…

Indeed! Most of them are pretty obvious, like donuts and deep-fried foods, but ice cream caught my eye because I've seen the conflicting opinions. I do follow IIFYM... ...and do indulge already *blushes*
-
I've read conflicting opinions on ice cream. Tom Venuto (Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle) has it on his Terrible 12 list for its combination of fats and sugars. Other sources say it is fine. Should I avoid or indulge?

Thanks for the encouragement! I've already felt stronger in the gym, so I'm clinging to that!

I don't have any advice but I do have empathy for the OP and anyone else going through this. I've lost 54 pounds in 3 years, using DBs and machines for almost two years. I started looking too thin, especially at my age (63) in the shoulders, neck and face. But I really wanted to lose more to get rid of that "pinch-an-inch"…

Thanks for the responses. I honestly hadn't thought about fixing the imbalance as a goal. I've been thinking in terms of "awesome biceps." lol The accident broke my wrist and it has always been a weak point. Unfortunately, I also have trouble with my left shoulder. I guess I say this because I'm not sure they will ever be…

20 pounds makes a huge difference! In everything! Your pics are super inspiring! So proud of you for making this decision. The FitBit results are awesome and congrats on doing the c25k! It looks like you've inspired a lot of people here today! Feel good about that as well.
