yes try various shoes. i was just a NB gal, but now i use Asics, Saucony, Mizuno. You may find something that feels and works better for you. i have 4 shoes in rotation for different terrains, so never limit yourself to just 1 type of shoe

When are you planning on doing your first marathon? i suggest taking your time and running smaller races before jumping into a full marathon. not trying to discourage you but marathon training takes a lot of time especially when i comes down to builing your base. too much too soon can lead to serious injuries. You may want…

i notice at my gym the young bunnies are just there to socialize or to check out the guys on the weights. we mature women are there to work out and kick butt. I know someone my age and shes got a ripped body! when she walks in she so intimidates the younger girls and i think thats so funny!!

i plan a menu a week in advance and then so my shopping around that. Dried beans are cheap and if you make too much, they freeze really well. lots of protien and you can do a lot with them. Found that precut veggies are more expensive than regular vegetables (bag salad vs. head of lettuce), so i would that instead. Buying…

have you washed it really well w/soap and water. sweat has salt in it and can plug the sensors on the strap. I would try to change the batteries and tighten the strap. Another thing i noticed on mine is that the sensors have to be dripping wet when i put it on so that it picks my heart rate

I use to be a size 8, now I'm a size 2 and dropped a total of 35 lbs all from running. I average a caloric burn now of 80 calories per mile. I do suggest using a HRM to keep track of your calories burn and increase your protien intake so that u don't lose muscle mass

Ling runs usually oatmeal, toast with PB and honey and a lot of coffee. I do use the bathroom a lot,but not during a race. Pre race jitters maybe?

after a hard workout i use either a foam roller or the stick and massage the achy areas. this helps flush out the lactic acid build up in your muscles.

i dont track sugar, but i do stay away from processed sugar and eat natural sugars instead like honey. natural honeys found in fruits are so much better for you than say processed table sugar what can be found in most foods you get off the shelf
-
just because it says fat free or low fat doesnt necessarily means its better for you. all the fat free stuff has tons of sugar in it so that it tastes better. ill get low fat or make healthy substitutions like instead of a serving of mayo, ill do a 50/50 mayo/greek yogurt or in baking sub oil for sugar free applesauce,…

i wouldnt do the slimfast shakes. Read the label, it has tons of sugar in it. if you want a protein shake then i suggest Optimum whey protien mix. High protein means it will keep you fuller longer. i tried doing the slimfast thing and i was hungry all the time and i actually gained weight on it

ive watched her shows and i just cant believe how fattening some of her meals are and im not surprised that she did come down with diabetes. All i can say is that i hopes she gets well and changes her show to help people get healthy and not wind up like her. i read an article about Alton Brown how he lost 50lbs 2 yrs ago…

get a PT. People tell me that they dont need one cause they dont need to be told how to lift weights, but i see it that they show you how to lift weights correctly and to maximize your time lifting so you can get the best results in whatever amount of time you have. i normally do a lot of my strength training during my…
