Had this stuff before, really felt like a zombie on it too - it took away everything. In some ways I think it made things worse.

Evening all, it's been a busy day here today with a lot of procrastination on my part. Nice work guys! Every step counts @jessiquoi!! :) I'm working at home (I work for myself) on some material that isn't exactly engaging my (rather short) attention span and I'm finding that I desperately want to eat. Not because I'm…

The commenters above have nailed it, but I thought I'd stop in just to give another voice to the positive vibes here! I have suffered depression on and off my entire adult life, sometimes it's worse than others - stress is certainly a massive factor for me personally in the onset of symptoms. A few years ago, I lost 40Ibs…

Hi all! I've been reading through this thread and have loved all of your stories! My name is Michelle, I'm 30, English but I currently live in Italy. I live with my wonderful partner, my beautiful furry-faced companion, Lili, who is a Czsechoslovakian Wolfdog (and is currently boring a hole into the back of my head waiting…
-
@jessiquoi Thank you!! I'm "supposed" to be working right now, but I'll make sure to come back later and introduce myself properly :D I hope you're all having a lovely day!
-
I love this thread, what a beautiful idea!!

@Michael190lbs, @sbrandt37, @JaneiR36, @summ682 Thanks guys for such informed and knowledgeable responses <3 Sorry for such a delay, I didn't realise anyone else had posted here! I have recently started using a new inhaler and OMG the difference it has made.... I moved from the sabutamol ones I have been prescribed since I…

This. So this, it makes me grit my teeth every time. Or "You don't need to lose weight". I know it's intended as a kindness but really, I do.

FR sent :)

I don't personally think so, no. It might take you a while to build the right amount of strength/technique but you're probably less than a half an inch shorter than I am (I'm almost 5'5 :D ). It depends how dedicated you are really, if you want it, you can do it :)
-
:s It depends on the lift, but that is a scary statement. I'm 5'5" and can deadlift around 200Ibs (which is more than my bodyweight), and squat around 150Ibs, but, I can only lift around 50Ibs over my head... I have friends on my friends list (females) who can lift more than that, some of who are shorter than me. Go lift…

This is actually how I managed to mess up my hip muscle, that a few years later is still taking a lot of time and effort to put right! As @sgt1372 says, it's usually bad form during the squat. Everything he's said is perfect but I just want to add - sometimes with heavier weight it's tempting to arch your back and try to…

Wow, wish I had found this at the start of November xD I think alcohol is one of the main reasons the scale is being so rude to me at the moment!
-
Wow, this is amazing - great job!!

Thanks Sij, it is REALLY frustrating and I also feel kind of silly, I used to be able to run 12 miles without collapsing - but of course it took me years of running every day, and lots of painful flare ups to get to that point of conditioning, then I just stopped running ./headdesk Anyway, your suggestion is really…

Hey, always looking for more lifter friends, feel free to FR me :)

Thanks everyone for the responses. It has become clear that I was asking a stupid question - I simply wanted to know if anyone had ideas of how to raise heart rate with less stress on the lungs, naturally, that can't really be done. So it's just a case of building it all back up. I appreciate all of your input, so thanks…
-
Thanks, the only reason I am looking at my heart rate is because it is not being challenged. I just wanted to know whether people had ideas of cardio that would be less stressful for my lungs, but allow me to raise my heart rate. It was a long shot, but always worth asking imo.
-
Thanks Sij, I am aware of the mechanics of riding a bike. The issue here is of course, that as soon as the work goes up (I think as I said in an earlier post giving the example of spin class) the issue with the flare up begins :( I have a very healthy heart, the problem being, my lungs do not match up to the same level of…

I appreciate the sentiment, but if I push through it I could die. I'm not being dramatic. I'm well aware of the work that needs to be put in, but it's not simply a case of breathlessness, or lack of endurance. I am asthmatic.
-
Thank you!! I've found healthcare providers to either be fantastic or absolutely shocking at helping with asthma!!
-
Don't even get me started on this one, the last nurse I went to told me that I wasn't asthmatic because I wasn't wheezing, regardless of the improvement of peak flow (which had been low) from the new inhaler and every other symptom that comes with asthma. I was gobsmacked that a professional could so easily dismiss someone…

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! @mgalovic01 , sadly no local pool where I'm living otherwise swimming would be my go to!! @Helloitsdan an, balloon therapy? I've never heard of this, what is it? @rileysowner thanks :) @MeganAM89 I have a powder inhaler that has been fantastic, the brown steroid inhaler really didn't…

Nice! I have to confess I'm more of a fantasy-RPG kinda gal, but totally agree on the sports games. Aside from the Wii games.... (don't judge me )
-
Always in for new friends, a lot of mine have become inactive over the years - feel free to add :)
-
I was drawn in by the tag xD What games are you in to??
-
I'd put money on hangry. What are your macros like of a day? And how much are you eating?
-
Just to expand on your point - you're not getting a reliable answer to your question because you've left out other key hormones, like grehlin for example and the various satiety mechanisms present in the brain, all of which are VERY complex. Leptin alone doesn't account for our eating behaviours, or fully our satiety…
-
I know it's been said but drink more. Satiety signals are the same for hunger and thirst so it's easy to mistake one for the other. If you still feel thirsty though you definitely need more. Also as the above poster said, you're used to feeling overfull - give yourself some time to adjust and be kind to yourself :) losing…
