  • Thanks all! You guys have helped me tremendously. :flowerforyou:
  • Sharing chocolate ALWAYS earns props!
  • LOL Let us know when one is 9lbs 4oz and alive... or just call Ripley's...
  • Somebody give this man a cape! Crazy Kudos!
  • My SUPER MOM day was last Friday... Got the kids to school a half-hour early so I could do a PT conference, picked up supplies for my daughter's science project and my son's rocket club project, came home to throw dinner in the crock pot (one of those 6 hour recipes) and clean up the house for a double slumber party, back…
  • LOL when I tell my kiddos I love them, they usually reply "I know... or I'd be dead by now."
  • Store up all the anger and frustration they're inspiring in you and use it to work out harder later... then smile because they're helping you with your goals while being a jerk... then watch them get frustrated because you're smiling and disintegrate into partial sentences before stomping off
  • You can handle it! It's a shock, I know... had the same thing happen with my second... and I was on birth control at the time! But I was told that the better shape I was in when the baby came the easier it would be, and it actually worked out that way. I was surprised. Your doctor can tell you how to modify your eating…
  • Thank you all so much for your help! I'm feeling a lot less hopeless! It's hard enough cooking for everyone (one won't eat mushrooms, one won't eat anything without some form of tomato sauce, unless I trick him into it...) but trying to integrate healthy eating into it seemed really daunting! I guess it would have been…
  • Awesome! Thanks guys... this is a great starting point!
  • That's great! LOL it reminds me of my dad, throwing himself over a cake and telling his wife "Don't worry, I'll save you from the calories honey!"
  • How about a High School Musical game on some console? (I know there's at least one out for the wii...) And you can research the kids that are being "found" on Disney Channel... most of them dance too. I agree with all the people who've said just stop getting the junk food... maybe you can find a healthier alternative for…
  • A friend of mine had a bad one... she and her boyfriend were having a huge fight and quit talking for a while. They settled down to give each other the cold shoulder, each watching different movies in different rooms. Her boyfriend called down the hall to get him a bag of chips, and she lost her temper and stomped in to…
  • Seriously, I've learned that while nobody agrees on much (kinda like the non-digital world) most people will at least write some words of encouragement... Even if I don't learn much else, that's nice to see. There are a lot of odd threads, true, but sometimes you stumble on a good one where one person is on the verge of…
  • I'm not sure... I'm thinking it'll take extensive research with a HRM... and I mean EXTENSIVE!! hehe
  • It says USUALLY without apparatus... remember, this definition was written before the wonderful variety we enjoy today existed! Life is so much better now... LOL
  • According to Webster's Online Dictionary: Definition of CALISTHENICS 1: systematic rhythmic bodily exercises performed usually without apparatus
  • My kids high-five each other and rate their wipeouts... that had to come from somewhere! LOL
  • I do an hour of Wii Fit (30 min of free step and at least that of yoga and strength) as a bare minimum every day. I suplement that with bicycle crunches, extra yoga/strength training, and when the weather is nice enough I walk up the hill to take kids to school/drop them off.
  • I have a mother much like that! I completely understand your frustration. Just think of it this way... you're used to being the parent in the relationship, right? Well sometimes parents need to practice tough love. It sucks whether you're a child doing it to the parent or a parent doing it to a child, but sometimes you…
  • I would try this out... http://www.sagewomanherbs.com/store/#ecwid:category=1481553&mode=product&product=5934083 It comes in powder, pills or tincture... the powder or tincture can be mixed into a smoothie without really having to taste it so much, and it also helps absorb it without getting sick. Hope this helps =D
  • Instead of wishin and hopin, decide! You've gotten a lot of support and great ideas on this thread. Use them! I'd love it if you added me as a friend... and I'd cheer you on like no other. My top weight was almost 400 pounds, and it quite literally took the support of an entire battalion for two years to get me to lose…
  • Also, from what I understand, the more muscle you have the more fat you burn at rest... so when you're building muscle, think of it as delegating =D You'll get there... and we'll all still be around to celebrate with you when you do =D
  • I understand all too well... I dropped 4.2% on the BMI scale, but still weighed 186 lbs. The running joke was that I would qualify for the Seals and still weigh 186 lbs. Are you measuring yourself? That'll tell you more about your progress than a scale will. I wouldn't mind being almost 200 pounds if I could fit in a size…
  • That's awesome! One of my favorite quotes is "Be the change you want to see in the world"... and you're living it. Congrats =D

  • My fav is a scoop of vanilla whey protein, 1/4 cup frozen mixed berries, 1 container lite berry yogurt and just enough milk to thin it out (otherwise it is almost as thick as ice cream) BTW I hope you don't mind... I'm stealing the recipies everyone is posting for you... lol Good luck on your journey
  • My advice is to just limit calories early in the day, fill up on water before hand and only eat half of the food you get. But here's the important thing... have FUN! Everyone needs a splurge day once in a while... just make this your splurge for the week/month and enjoy yourself! Good luck!
  • Welcome =D There's a lot of wonderful and encouraging people here, I think you'll like it. I know I sure do!
  • Be encouraged!! 11 pounds in 3 weeks is great! I know what you mean though. I've got about a hundred to go, which makes my little "3 lbs lost" button less encouraging. I would love to have you add me as a friend though, and it'd be great if we could brainstorm and find ways to motivate each other =D
  • I would love some advice =D Any suggestions for a woman with a heart that doesn't bring all the oxygenated blood up for use in the rest of the body?? I would love to be more workout prone, but I have to be so careful... =( Thanx in advance!
