Glad to meet you! You have come to the right place.

Great Job!

I have every piece of equipment known to man, and I always end up on the treadmill. On days when I just don't want to work out, I tell myself "Just get on for a few minutes and walk". This usually leads to a real workout, but even if it doesn't it is something mindless I do in front of the TV. You can go slow and use…

I believe it is what works best for you. That being said, I was never a breakfast eater, and am doing much better now that I am. If you are not hungry when you get up, it may be that you are eating too much or too late in the evening. From everything I have read, our bodies need more energy in the earlier part of the day,…

Welcome Arlygyrl! You have come to the right place. The diary will either confirm you do eat healthy, or give you a wake-up call. Ask any questions you might have - there are plenty of people eager to support you in your goals.

I was the same way until I started at MFP, and read all the posts about getting your metabolism going first thing in the A.M., and keeping it going by eating every 3 hours. Try starting to flip your day around, gradually getting to where your evening meal/snack is the smallest of the day - you will be ready for breakfast…

Welcome Ashcools and Workout60!

Are you super hungry? Without protein and fiber I would not be able to function. The apple is good fiber, and the nuts are good protein, but you may need more. I would also put more calories earlier in the day, and not so much for dinner.

I think your meals look pretty good, but low in fiber. Try replacing your Cheerios with a High Fiber Cereal. I really like Fiber One Honey Clusters. Also, if you are truly that hungry, try boosting your breakfast calories with more protein, and end your day with a good protein snack. If I ate Cheerios at the end of the…

What are you eating? And when?

Thank you

Great thought - thank you. Do you mind sharing your food and exercise routines and/or tips? I see from your info that you did not have any significant plateaus, even with your last few pounds. I have been stuck and would appreciate some words of wisdom.

Fantastic!

Yeah! Good for You!

That is great that bumping up your calories led to maintaining your weight loss. Good news for when you do decide just to "maintain." If you want to try another lb or two, change something else. If you currently exercise for an hour, try 30 minutes twice a day. If you are not currently eating smaller meals/snacks every…

I commend you for talking about this, and asking for help. Your success on MFP shows you are a strong and determined person. I agree with the other comments about consistency and being the parent, not the "friend". As for summer, wear them out! Keeping active will help both with your health and with keeping them busy and…

Please go to your own settings and look at what you listed for your inspirations. Then realize that you cannot give up, and you absolutely can do it. Lots of people here want to help. Post your typical food and exercise, and I know you will get good guidance and motivation.

I agree that eating light every 3 hours or so is the best policy, then you will never be too full to exercise and will still have the energy you need for a good workout. I have read that if you are planning a larger or simple carb meal, it is best to eat this 1-2 hours after a cardio workout, since the body can better…

I agree that you should eat a good portion of your exercise calaories. And are your calories spread out over the day? If not, try eating every 2-3 hours (meal, snack, meal, snack, meal).

Congrats on the new job! You don't need a kick in the pants - it seems like you know the perils of a desk job. I would try to do mini-boosters during the day, as well as a full out exercise regiman at night. Anything that gives your body a quick shot of oxygen every 30-60 minutes should do the trick.

Don't Give Up! Just look how many of your MFP friends are rooting for you!! I agree with many of the comments that you cannot possibly be enjoying your meals. Real foods can be simple and convenient too. An apple with Peanut Butter, Fiber One Oats and Chocolate bars, slap some turkey or chicken with lower-fat cheese on a…

Welcome! You obviously have the right attitude and goals to ensure your success.

Ditto what many are saying - eat every 3 hours, and you need more fiber. There are plenty of tasty cereals and cereal bars with good fiber content.

Welcome! You are eating quite a bit of simple carbs. I like the same foods you do, but with easy tricks you can make them healthier. I have three suggestions: 1. Pick a cereal with more fiber. There are lots of good tasting ones. 2. Make your own Mac and Cheese using Dreamfields pasta. It is high in fiber and tastes…

Bunny, I also really appreciate your recipes - I appreciate all of the people who take the time to post here. I do not have the time or energy to get creative, so without you all, I would eat the same thing every day! My definition of Low Carb would be less than 15g carbs per serving, net of the fiber (ie. Total Carbs -…
