This week was bad...so bad, I couldn't bear to log it! I had my anniversary, birthday and Mothers Day all within a few days of each other. I didn't really plan that out too well, did I!? Either way, I knew it was going to happen, will accept the consequences, and move on. I've already done my Jillian workout and eaten a…

Thanks for the link! I'll have to calibrate mine soon too...

My son gave me a big hug the other day and said "Wow, Mom, your tummy is getting smaller!" Awww...thanks, Honey! Then he added "Now, you need to work on your bingo wings!" Truth hurts....

Good God, Man! That's phenomenal! You look fantastic! Great work!

The distance displayed on the Fitbit is the accumulated distance since last midnight. I'm also 5'3 and have a shorter stride, so to make it more accurate I calculated my stride length and input that into Fitbit. To do that yourself, just edit your profile and you can put in your stride length there, as well as a running…

Both great suggestions! Thanks so much!

Quest Protein bars are excellent. Loaded with protein and fibre. The net carbs are around 2-4 grams. I've tried 4 of the flavours and there really wasn't a bad one in the lot. I found they tasted even better when they were warmed up in the microwave for 8 seconds.

I have a weighted vest, and use it when I walk, either on a treadmill or outside. I use a 20lb vest, and certainly feel more tired after I use it, so it must be doing something. I don't like to use it doing squats, etc. because I find the extra weight strains my knees, so I strictly use it for walking. I just log it as…

Liver and onions. I'd rather eat cow tongue than this!

Just a shout out to the OP.... THANK YOU for starting this thread!

I have the same issue. It works best for me when I lie down, and they use a butterfly needle on the back of my hand. These are the needles they use to get blood from small children/babies. It takes a little longer, but well worth it. For injections, just don't look at the needle, and keep laying down until it's over. Music…

Still my favourite....dry toast with black pepper.

Marion, sweetie, you have already shown great strength by sharing with us. We will support you any way we can, but you must tell a trusted adult, parent, teacher, coach, doctor or counselor. You are a good person who has an illness that needs to be treated. I was never a cutter, but suffered with depression for 20+ years…

I hear you loud and clear! I have the same issue, and instead of fighting it, I still have something sweet, but lower in fat and calories. My current favourite is Source 0% Lemon Meringue Dessert Yogurt. Only 35 calories. It's sweet enough to fill the need, yet low enough in calories to keep me on track. If you can't fight…

Hi! I'm 41 and started MFP in January after struggling for years with weight issues related to depression. I finally have that under control, so now it's time to get the weight under control. I'm down about 20lbs since I started, but would love to lose another 10lbs before my birthday in May. If I could do that, I would…

Wow! Very impressive! You look about 15 years younger! Keep up the great work!

Go to the TOOLS tab at the top, and click "Learn more about the Fitbit Ultra". The next page will allow you to link it to the Fitbit website.

I'm 41, and loving it! There is so much more to aging then just getting old. I have never felt better physically, stronger and more flexible. And mentally, I'm more confident and at peace with myself now then ever before. Just lovin' this old-timers club!

I did the 30DS in the months of January/February, and lost 16lbs and 16.5 inches! It was insane! When I finished, I tried Jillian's Kettle Bell workout, and her 6 Week Abs. Neither of them were as good as her 30DS, so after several weeks of trying different DVDs, I just went back to the 30DS as of this past Tuesday. At…

You know, this could be a severe response to depression. Your separation from his Dad, moving back in with his Mom, etc. I'm only aware of this because I have an 11 year old who is close to me that is on Cymbalta to combat depression, and often in kids it presents as sudden weight gain. FYI, the doctor of this kid missed…

I prefer the term "zaftig", but it's all pretty much the same! I love my shape, but it does require more trips to the tailor for perfectly fitting clothes. The plus side is I can gain a little weight and no one notices, but the drawback is I can lose some weight and no one notices! It goes both ways... I found JM's 30DS…

I've read several pages of responses, and see most people are very adamant about their beliefs, but I don't feel the question has actually been answered in many cases. As I read the OP's question, I have 2 answers. First, no, they don't have to believe in my particular religion, but, yes, they do need to believe in a…

You guys are awesome! There are some really good suggestions here. I will try to moderate my portions, drink less wine, drink more water, and keep my *kitten* on the dance floor! Most importantly, I will not stress about over-eating, and just have fun. This will be the killer of all cheat days, but what hangs over me is…

Thanks, everyone! I'll go, eat and drink and dance! I'll try to mind the portions and just sample everything, but I know it will be hard. I'm really afraid of the wine with the calories, and it's affect on lowering my judgement! My biggest fear is waking up Sunday morning having gained back the 16lbs I just worked so hard…

Oddly enough, I went through this yesterday at VS as well, maybe I saw you there? :) I went in looking for a bra for a special dress and came out with one that actually fit properly! I have never felt comfortable in my bras, and now I know why. I was forcing myself into a 42DD and it turns out I'm actually a 38F. I have…

I hope this makes you laugh...I found it online when I was looking into a liver cleanse and stumbled across this poor fellows experience. What a laugh! I hope it you enjoy it. Last week I took a full dose of the Total Body Rapid Cleanse. I had been partying hard for about a month and decided I needed to clean up my…

I did Jenny Craig a few years ago, and I was successful for the first few months. It must be something about the way the program is designed, because once I lost 22lbs in about 3 months, the only thing I was lost after that was my money! By the 6 month mark, I stopped going, and had much more success just on my own. IMHO,…
