Yes, because we purchase nondairy butter, Earth Balance. But the folks who work with me keep real butter out on top of the fridge, which causes it to melt all over the place. I stopped picking up after them.

Why not set aside one day a week to prep and make your own homemade tv dinners? We do this every week, with one vegan in the house and another person who eats 90 % vegan meats/vegetable based dishes. Buy whatever meats and veggies you like that are on sale and make your meals from them. Rice and beans are two items that…

We make tacos with Beyond Meat Crumbles and a packet of taco seasoning. Tastes just like real meat.

I take a Fiber Supplement that is sugar free for extra fiber. Vitafusion is one brand.

I have Crohn's Disease and when I am flaring I tend to stick to a low-residue diet. Some things you could try are: spaghetti with marinara sauce, baked fish, baked or mashed potatoes with vegan butter, roasted veggies, fruit cups, scrambled eggs, baked chicken with any spice or marinade or bbq sauce you like...I could go…

I agree that a trip to the doctor is a good idea. But I will also give my advice: I have a chronic illness and have found that when I am not hungry, I am thirsty so why not drink some of your calories. Look for dietary supplements that are high calorie or get supplemental powder and mix with juice or milk for extra…

We make cupcakes with any chocolate cake mix and a can of Libbys Pumpkin. No need for eggs, oil, or water. Bake as directed. We usually frost some with cool whip, and the rest are plain.

I use this site primarily as a food diary...because I have a chronic illness that makes it difficult to GAIN weight. It is helpful to see how many calories and fiber I eat daily.
-
I like to add fruit or vegetable slices to water for no calorie flavor. My favs are orange slices, dill, cucumber and lime.

If you feel that you are constipated, I would suggest using Miralax daily. It is a tasteless, odorless powder that you can mix with most any beverage (non alcoholic). It is safe to use daily.

I too am trying to gain weight, but for a different reason than most of the folks in this forum. I have an IBD disease called Crohn's Disease (google it if you never heard of it). I have a hard time gaining and maintaining because I have a severe case and am almost out of treatment options at 36 years old. When I am…

I count any drinks, soups and ice cream towards my goal of water for the day.

I applaud you if you are able to manage your disease with diet alone. I cannot. I am currently taking 2 Colestid one hour before breakfast to tighten things up and 400 mg of Cimzia every 14 days. This makes the CD manageable. Since your diary is private, will you share some of the foods that are on your specific diet?

I am sure this is already listed but I did not want to read three pages of replies... I drink water that is infused with dill or cucumber or lemon or lime or orange. The possibilities are endless and low calorie.

I have Crohn's Disease and like drinks from Bolthouse Farms and CalNaturale Svelte (added protein is a big plus with this one). At times, I like to drink my calories, to give my belly a rest. These drinks are tasty, and the Bolthouse Farms drinks can count as servings of fruit and veggies too.

Here's my two cents: I suffer from Crohn's Disease and am in a constant state of trying to gain weight. I eat healthy, high calorie foods and walk for fitness. I am unable to lift weights any more due to a leg injury requiring rods in the bones, but find walking to be a low impact way to stay fit. Why not try and drink…

What about a protein bar or shake? Some of the raw bars are near 200 cal and if not you could add some milk or juice.... I personally cannot stomach much food so early in the morning, so I eat cereal and then have a snack when I get to work.

I have Crohn's Disease and cannot have nuts or seeds either. So I eat some of the following for snacks: string cheese; cut up Cabot cheese with crackers; hummus and chips; dips/guacamole and pretzels, veggies, chips; fresh fruit; yogurt; frozen pretzels and mustard; and low fiber processed snacks - as I am trying to gain…

I have Crohn's Disease and this is my advice: I have tried 2 different diets and have found that I cannot eat the foods they recommend with out repercussions. So what worked best at first was to keep a food diary. In this diary I would write down the foods I ate and when I ate them (like breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks,…

Why not invest in a lunch bag that you could put cold packs in to keep food cold. Then the possibilities are endless.
-
Why not take a few hours on the weekend and prepare a few meals that can easily be heated up during the week. All you would need to do is add a salad or heat up some frozen veggies for a side dish.

baked potato, roasted brussels sprouts or baked sweet potato would all be my choices

Since I am trying to gain weight, I pre-log my lunch and some snacks (the ones that will go bad in my lunch box if I don't eat them) during the work week. Then I log as I go throughout my day. I always need to know how many calories I have consumed by dinner time to make sure that I go over (which sometimes just doesn't…

Being lactose intolerant, I use Earth Balance original buttery spread. It tastes just like butter. It is also vegan, gluten and casein free; and non gmo.

Have you tried Agave? I find it great in tea, and I use less then I would with honey or even sugar. For coffee, how about Stevia in the Raw? No calories there.
-
Any burgers from BK (especially the Whopper - my fav), McD's, Wendy's, Five Guys. I had a Whopper last month and it just didn't taste right...so disappointing because I used to use these foods to hit my calories on days/weeks when I wasn't able to eat anything. In fact, even when we make hamburgers at home, I cannot finish…

It's all about the numbers, you can theoretically eat anything as long as you stay under your calories. Ex: you can eat a whole pizza for lunch, but if you max your calories...no more food for that day!

Have you tried coconut water to replenish your lost electrolytes and potassium. It may take a while to get used to the taste, but it is recommended as an alternative to gatorade or powerade. There are also recipes on the internet to make your own electrolyte replacement drinks.

I drink infused water each day at work because I cannot tolerate plain water, but need to increase my fluids. I use cucumber by itself or with dill, strawberry slices, strawberry slices with mint, peach slices, peach slices and mint, orange slices, nectarine slices, nectarine slices and mint. The combos are endless. I…
